In my game she was introduced and I went with an Eastern European accent. She was introduced as Dannika's research partner in the Nature Spirits quest, and it was actually Vellynne's lantern of tracking that the party uses.
Funnily enough I was searching for information on the Harpell family in general as one of my players in Lost Mines of Phandelver is a Harpell and has named dropped "Auntie Vellynne" during some downtime rp.
Another great video! Thank you for making these. If I may ask, how many groups do you run for and what is your preferred arena of play (IRL, Fantasy Grounds, etc.)?
Thanks for another great video! I was wondering on what your thoughts are in regards to Vellynnes introduction and timing in the story? I think it just seems too good to be true that she shows up right when the characters are in need of her for transportation back to Ten Towns. For one of my groups the PCs have seen her for just a few moments in the tavern in Targos. I have kinda linked her together with Dannika and have her playing role almost as Dannikas mentor. Ended up using the lure of an introduction as a carrot for the group to say yes to doing Dannikas quest.
I'm curious how the play the major NPCs that are the part of the Arcane Brotherhood, when you have a character in the party with spy background who's a harper
When I read about Professor Skant, my mind immediately went to C-3P0 lol. As for Velleynne your idea sounds good, but I don't watch Rick and Morty, did actually make her likable? I hear that's a problem.
If you make a character really pompous and condescending the players will enjoy watching them fail. The players will sympathize and grow more attached when they witness her constantly being reminded that she isn't as smart as she thinks. An example would be if the party decides to go right at the fork and she adamantly suggests going left. Suddenly there is a monstrous creature to the left and the right path led to safety.
Went with Minerva McGonagall for her, stern, looking down her nose at the party.
this is a perfect Vellynne
I'm running this now, I'm totally borrowing this idea. I love it.
Such a pleasant surprise! You're a saint for making these videos.
This was great. I hope you do stuff for the other Arcane Brotherhood wizards, especially Avarice.
These videos are great! I like the more deep dives in to characters
Super insightful video ! I'm doing a theme on her and it provided a lot of inspiration, liked and subbed :)

Vellynne wound up being Betty White in my game.
This is just too perfect
Wow thank you, for your ideas!

god Sanchez Vellynne sounds incredible
Just imagine Rick Sanchez and Alfred
That's brilliant! Heh.
I've been roleplaying Vellyne like an old cat lady, except she has kobolds instead of cats.
Should've did C-3PO for Professor Scant.
My PC is Vellyne’s long-lost daughter, a half elf named Caroline
She went with the party, but couldn't hack it and got murked
I'm going with Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada for my Vellynne

I run 5 groups using discord voice chat and the roll20 module, I used to only play/run in person until lockdown. I prefer online games now

Current Rick Sanchez is level 40 alchemist/Wizard.

Hey Sam. How did Tekeli-li manage to snatch the professor orb off the party in your game?
May I suggest you organize these into playlists? Looks like you started but only about half your videos are there
