In tribute to Akhtaribai Faizabadi (Begum Akhtar) on her death anniversary, I attempted to sing one of the well-known ghazals famously sung by her. The composition by Ustad Barkat Ali Khan is loosely based on Raag Bihaag.
I am forever indebted to my Guruji Sangeetratna Navodeep Chakraborty Sir who taught me this ghazal.
Recorded at home using only an electronic tanpura. Headphones recommended.
