Honestly I've always played my 'spares', I'd give them a house, and spouse (if it fits them) pets, etc. and then id move on. That being said i never have more than 3-4 kids in a gen, though sometimes mccc does something wild and they have tons of kids 😂. Sometimes if im too attached to the sims I play them rotationally :) For rent has really helped me with FOMO! My main sims parents and grandparents always come visit, and I love having her kids visit their grandparents and cousins/aunts/uncles. I always find myself writing stories for my sims, and there was a point where I was writing stories for all of my sims in my last legacy. I was overwhelmed very quickly so now I've written just for families not specific sims (unless im very attached) The killing them off tip is very helpful! I've only killed off a few (for story purposes) and honestly its taken some stress off of deciding what to do with all of them. Thank you for this great video! 😊 ❤
Totally, it's fun to write stories about our Simmies but it can be so overwhelming when you've got too many Sims on your hands. Nothing like a good 'ol alien abduction or murder plot to help let go. 😅 The new For Rent pack has definitely also been very helpful to keep Sims in touch for the spares we let live on. I'm glad you found the video helpful! 💛
I used cheats to make one of my spellcaster spares one of the Sages of Magic. So I still see him when Sims visit. You could do the same with other NPC roles too. I also created a club for some family members and set the venue to museum so I tend to see them wander about when my sims visit one. Clubs can be a handy way to make your sim world feel alive.
This is my dilemma with my current family. Their first set of twins my favorite out of all the kids(6) and they're about to move out and start their own families. I'll probably still go back with and play with them when I get bored with the main sims and give them mates or pets.
Double trouble, literally. 😅 Do the main sims have a good relationship with the twins? They could make a ritual to hang out every week so that they (and you) can continue to enjoy their company. They could even make it tradition to go on vacation together for some quality family time. If they don't have a good relationship, maybe through some other circumstances (the watcher's will 😁) they are forced to hang out. I'm going on a tangent here, but maybe they are managing a business or project together or maybe some other family-related obligation. Could also be a reason why they run into each other purposely on the regular. Playing them a bit in rotation like you mentioned is also a great way to keep in touch with your favorite twins. May they live happily ever after. 💛

With the new For Rent pack, im gonna make all my sims live on the same lot in different units.
Oh yes, the pack is perfect for that! Makes staying connected with family members so much easier. ☺
