I still love my LV reverse monogram kislux clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
I don’t even leave the spark arresters in. I take them out because the gas is so crappy and they carbon up a lot, but great tips love watching your videos. You do a great job.❤
I just ran the ethanol free echo, red armor fuel and even brand new I do take out the spark resister or the muffler screen as a mechanic going on 15 years all I run is red armor or the red cans of true fuel, ethanol free that ethanol is a silent killer to your two cycles and that’s that hope this was helpful
I have a new-ish blower that was bogging. Too new for the spark arrestor to be plugged. Loosening the gas cap let some air into the tank so allowed more fuel to the engine. Runs fine now that it's not fighting to pull fuel.
Excellent tip, Don! I'll check to see if I can clean the Spark Arrestor in my chainsaw. I do have 2 Propane Torches; a regular large bottle like the one you used and a small bottle triggered automatic.
I have a Stihl BR 200 backpack blower and I had the same problem. The spark arrester was plugged and I just removed it and not replace it and it runs great.
I've cleaned a few spark arrestors. I've fixed an old generator with the spark arrestor missing, not good for my friend who wanted to use it at the acreage. Took 2 weeks to get the part in, but his generator won't be throwing sparks now. Great video.
Hey Dony. Your shop is very well organised. Have you ever posted a tour of it? I think your viewers would like to see it and all your reoair equipement. I have wondered what that big black box is by your work bench. Is it a sand blaster? Thank you Willy
Something to keep in mind is that the carb will need a bit of fine-tuning (richer settings) in cooler ambient temps, like early spring / late fall versus the warmer temps of mid-summer.
Awesome as usual Don, question? Please help!!!! My BP blower will only start if I put fuel in the spark plug hole and stay running on choke. If I take it off choke it dies. It will however run if I full throttle it and flip the choke off, and it runs as normal. However as soon as I let off the throttle it dies, will not idle. Your expertise is greatly appreciated great sir. Forgot to mention it doesn't have the spark arrestor in it
Hi Don..love your videos and have been a subscriber. One problem I am having with my leaf blower is that it will start when cold , but once it warms up and I stop the engine, it won't start again until the engine is cold. What could be the problem? any advice. thx. I have a ryobi 2 cycle gas leaf blower
All Super Liner Cars roots can be traced back to 1952. The Santa Fe Railroad ordered the cars for a New El Capitan Service. The first cars entered service in 1954. The car were known as Hi-Level cars by Budd. In total 73 were built between 1952 and 1964. 61 coaches, 6 lounges, and 6 Diners. When Amtrak took over, the El Capitan and Super Chief had been combined with a transition car to marry the traditional Signal level Streamlined cars of the Super Chief.
I have a faulty carburettor on an Ollie Mac pole pruner. The carburettor is a Walbro WT 930 C I have tried eBay and Amazon to get a replacement with no luck. Is there an equivalent carb I could use, or one with the same mounting holes that would fit. I hope you can help with some information on an alternative please.
I have 12 Stihl tools for maintaining a large property and in nearly 30 years of year-round use have only had to clean two spark arrestors. Any idea why the blower in the vid needed arrestor cleaning after what looks like very little run time?
My mom has an 8 year old Husqvarna BT130 with a lot of hours on it. I have replaced the carb, did a spark arrester delete, and I checked the exhaust port and cleaned out the muffler. It starts very easily and idles great, but despite the repairs, it doesn't feel like it is reaching the proper speed under load. Are there any other issues that can cause this?
plugged screen comes from using junk stihl oil and not running at full throttle. small engines like this were meant to run at max rprm's, swapped out my oil almost 2 years ago and havent had to clean them since
Can They make this spark arrester and the muffler any smaller????? Of course the manufacturer Stihl Very much knew the Maintenance implications but they saved a lot of money On the cost of materials and fabrication. And so we see a trend with equipment everywhere. And that is they are reducing cost at the expense Is up increased maintenance. The manufacturer. Does not pay for maintenance and They are more concerned about profit.
Checking an Air Filter is WAY too easy... Maybe shouldn't ask a question like that in front of Company... 😂 Then again checking the Spark Arrestor Screen isn't exactly Rocket Science either ? 🤔 Most of this stuff I do at frequent service intervals as a reflex, but I have become jaded by most folks general apathy to their equipment's maintenance over the years... 😕 I chalk it up to human nature but that gets kinda frightening over time. The box store makes it awfully convenient to toss it out on the curb these days, so I reckon they likely deserve to pay for it... 🙄
@marcmyers1465 I've actually had to burn the carbon off my MS170 chainsaw when I was giving it a deep clean/servicing. I only knew about it from a video I saw here a few years ago, just after I bought my very first saw. I was watching many videos and Donyboy 73's were about the best I had seen at the time...stihl (sorry) are if you ask me. 😉

Operator is running too much oil in the gas mix. No way should that arrestor be plugged already on a unit that new. He's running that at about 30:1 I'd bet.
Thank you for this. Fixed my br350 right up!

Tis The Season, Don... 😊
Every Fall, people get to find out what they couldn't be bothered to deal with before they put it away ! 😉
Or it’s a need it this week end, can fix it Friday night while I’m sleeping ???😢😢😢
I don’t even leave the spark arresters in. I take them out because the gas is so crappy and they carbon up a lot, but great tips love watching your videos. You do a great job.❤
I run many stihl machines and 95% of the time when a machine has a bogging down issue it’s this. We just burn it off with a torch.
I am in a first fire hazard area and I clean and replace them.
@@wayneessar7489 I'd guess it's cheaper than getting checked and paying fines and such.

Another excellent repair video. Thank you, Donyboy. 👍👍👍👍👍

Dzieki za film.👍
i like the easy fixes like that
Nice easy fix perfectly demonstrated. Thank you.

very informative. thanks for sharing your knowledge 💪

Use to do it to lawnboy mufflers as well. Keep heating it until the white smoke stopped coming out.
Just the other day I got my chainsaw out and it started doing the same thing. I cleaned the spark arrestor and bang!
Great video! 😊 thank you!!
Very helpful , Thanks
Don't forget to check the air filter before adjusting or replacing the carburetor.
Nice demonstration 😊 very helpful 👍

Clean your carb
Can the spark arrestor be removed without affecting the engine performance (not considering the safety issues involved)?
Yes...
Cheap 2-cycle oil, and not running the machine wide-open usually leads to carbon buildup.
Yep, both things can, and do clog the spark arrester screen.
That’s was my first thought that it was the spark arrester

Sounds better runs meaner, and with ethanol, free fuel such as echo red armor. You never have to worry about it ever again.
I have never had to clean a spark arrester after I stop using stihl ultra oil and started using echo red armor
Ya got any videos on b&s 3.5 carbs with manual chokes? Not sure if I gave and the springs in place. Thanks in advance.

Biggest spark arrestor issue I get is mud dauber nests.
I agree ☝️ 😢😢😢
I started putting golf tee's in my muffler pipes to stop the little devils.

Step 1: Remove spark arrestor
Step 2: Reassemble without spark arrestor
Like others, get rid of the spark arrester. In Britain you don't need them anyway.

Now this of my screen, I just take the grinder to it and cut it off and put it back on the muffler and that’s it
Check the fuel filter too.
Qué sucede si le quitó esa malla y que ya no se la vuelva a colocar qué pasaría a la máquina
Nothing happens to the machine, but you're blowing leaves and brush with a machine the can blow sparks and ignite everything around you... ☝️🤨

yes clogged spark arrester when i buy any new two cycle equipment the first thing i do is take out the spark arrester and throw it away problem solved
It's there for a reason. 🤷🏼♂️ Some of us live in high fire zones, and even fewer folks know when they are. 😖
First thought was plugged screen...do I get a sticker? lol
Ummm...would a plugged air filter cause that bogging too? (Asking for a friend)
