Thanks for this clarification. However the rules of any public body still apply. All public bodies must act intra vires and I would suggest that threatening anyone who is merely acting in their right to free speech is not part of their powers. It would be interesting to get a legal view on this. I think we can agree these statements to the journalist are worrying.

Likewise (although I grew up in different circumstances!); as a child of the 50s I am totally bemused & terrified by the current state of Great Britain. We were a country the world looked to for leadership but I’d be very surprised if that still truly obtained. We have squandered and surrendered our stature by pandering to the most lunatic ideas ever to have come out of the Soviet Union & the COMINTERN. As commented elsewhere, Yuri Besmenov (KGB defector & whistle-blower) explains this perfectly: the Soviets & their successors cannot have ever dreamt that their stratagems could have such incredible success! If only they’d realised that their place-men and sleepers had penetrated right to the heart of our society and perverted even the highest echelons!

It was well established and documented in mainstream journalism (including the BBC) and in a formal investigation by Parliament that a major reason why the massive Rotherham rape/grooming scandal did not come to light before there were well over a thousand victims was that the police and social service agencies were afraid to act for fear of being accused of racism; all the perps were Islamic men. Multiple people at various levels admitted to this, and it was absolutely accepted as the reason for the reluctant police response: Wokeism and fear of being called "racist" were major factors allowing these crimes to continue on a mass scale for years. Nothing else ever need be said about the dangers of woke attitudes within the police in Britain.
