I agree everything you said. I am a black immigrant man from ethiopia here living in canada for the last 30 years and I have never been discriminated by anyone . We are here bombarded by media and politicians how canadian institutions and police are racist towards black people. I feel that I am in a different planet.

All the racism nonsense... all this insane word play identitarian garbage ... far more than just that... so much it’s hard to keep up but I have.. ehhh I’m so fed up... But yeah like another person said, can’t listen to MSM. These people are nuts. It’s gotta be the same over there.
there are two options to avoid confilct which naturaly appears from diversity...1. be tolerant : this is very hard nowdays when common knowledge of people is "survival of fittest". I’m an American ~ this interview has warmed my heart. Thank you Douglas Murray for your common sense understanding. It gives me hope that truth can and will prevail.
While he speaks truth, the very real prospect of another civil war, especially against the backdrop of a contested election, can't warm anyone's heart. There is a large faction of people that would love to see America fall by the wayside, until they experience the Chinese world order... And by then it'll be too late.
pass this interview to all your US friends, most of us Brits would agree with Douglas, we know what is going on over there, in fact, because of your incredibly duplicitous MSN we know more about what is happening over there than most Democrat supporters.
I am a teacher. The amount of times I have heard that expression "We didn't learn about that at school.." People no longer teach themselves things (unless it is related to earning more money). To learn for the sake of learning, does not exist now from what I see around me.
Our education authorities have recently downgraded History by combining it with Geography and not insisting it be studied in Secondary School. I would argue that the study of humanities such as History and Geography are essential to understanding the conflicts that bedevil our world. Random acts of violence will occur when anger takes over from rigourous academic formation and education which needs to address all sides of a political argument or point of view. I sectional interests get to relate the story of our past lives then hatred and conflict are inevitable. Professional detached and cool heads need to prevail in this situation. History needs to be taught at school.
@@jgdooley2003 I agree that certain things need to be modified or changed, but not these two subjects. It is another step on the way to a homogeneous worldwide society.
You’re right. I’m 20 now, at university, and it’s only in the last year or so that I’ve realised that people can educate themselves on whatever they want, they just need to find the books to read. School and even uni, is just about teaching people how to learnt and think critically.
Douglas said sarcastically, "If you thought the American world order wasn't to your taste, you'll love the Chinese one." I was a Chomsky-loving anti-imperialist for decades, but I've come to believe that the sentiment that Douglas is expressing here--when China takes over as global hegemon, people will realize how good we all had it under the Pax Americana--is entirely correct.
It's mildly terrifying... He's said in a couple of interviews recently that the Corona virus might be just the beginning of something. Could be the beginning of a world war with China... Bankrupting your enemies would be a good start if you want to start a war...
I saw that Chomsky was simping for China and accusing Trump of yellow terror . The dude doesn't realize that China is worse than the USA, but I can't have my expectations up for the guy who was hanging out with Hugo Chavez.
Chomsky should have stuck to linguistics. Seriously. He has been so upset by the American hegemons who have done bad things, he seems to have always viewed every other entity through rose colored glasses. It is just astounding to me that he could say one word in favor of socialists and communists after the Gulag Archipelago was published, and after the real news about the horror of Maoist China came to light. It shows that no one is above incredible myopic bias once they have a world view that "works" for them personally.
I'm listening to him in the U.S.. I just heard him for the first time a week ago on Joe Rogan's podcast. There's a lot of people around the Western world who are looking to hear what reasonable intellectuals have to say because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot left that doesn't bow to the mob. He's one of the people outside of my country that I'm quickly starting to like, I'll have to hear a lot more before he reaches Jordan Peterson's level though lol.
@@cjoeguid I enjoy Peterson, but I find Murray's arguments to be a lot more clear, succinct and structured. Peterson is talented at speaking but his arguments often become cyclical and superfluously verbal.
@@theonlycaulfieldI do think your claim that Jordan Peterson is cyclical in his arguments is correct, but I think his views are pretty solid still. On certain topics he does seem to circle back around, especially when connecting ideas like Marxism and Post Modernism. I also notice everytime he does, he will remind us that these two wouldn't normally go together since Post Modernism suggest one side is not better than the other, but Marxism has clearly chosen a side lol, but I think you're right.
@@cjoeguid Murray and Peterson, I find, to say much of the same thing. Except Murray, as a writer for most his life, structures his statements without all the academia jargon.
@Marcus Lorenzo no academic whose work I've read has ever cited a journalist. Other academics, peer reviewed studies/ journals and relevant statistics/ data, but not the word of journalists or writers.
@Marcus Lorenzo perhaps describing him as a mere journalist was a bit unfair as he's also a writer/ poltical commentator. Not sure he pretends to be anything more than any of the above, and certainly not a philosopher of any description. Chomsky is a philosopher and academic, so don't really see the comparison there. What he undeniably is, however, is perceptive, and excellent at analysing and eloquently exposing the faults inherent in *some* left-wing thinking and action. He's one of the few voices on the right that I pay any attention to, even if I don't always agree with him. It's always worthwhile listening to a counter-narrative and being self-critical in my opinion. I've never seen him drum-up hatred of minorties so will have to plead ignorance there. From what I've seen of him over the years, his arguments tend be reasonable and often difficult to dismiss. You'll seldom see him lose a debate.
We lost Roger Scruton, who was brilliant and at times, to the point of inscrutability. We do have Douglas Murray, who is young and intellectual and quite understandable. He still lives and writes and is simply marvelous!

At-least Jordan Petersen (now / very late) is saying Trump is not a good politician or good man. Fair-weather fan.
I live in Tucson, Arizona in the USA, and I completely agree with most of what he says. In the USA, all is falling apart, and even my neighbors have turned their backs to me, because I refused to join the violent acts committed in downtown, Tucson in the name of BLM. Black lives do matter, as do all others, but we cannot win over this mindset, until we stop addressing each other by skin color & stop seeing with tunnel vision & acting in violence. We need to see with the eyes of law and fairness. Reason has left the minds of many here & I frankly feel the need to move back to Japan, where I used to live & violence was practically non-existent.
@Divinity X I agree that we must stand up to oppressive regimes and tactics that pick out people because of their physical appearances. Believe me, my photo might appear as if I haven't been through it, but I have. I used to have severe scoliosis & get physically bullied nearly daily. Then there were the years I lived with my Native American partner when we would get pulled over more than others & get reamed with discriminatory & bullying tactics ... yes, both of us. Now in my forties, I have seen and felt my share of gun violence too. If we are to stand up to an oppressive regime, be they police, government or other, we need to do so together & without hate & avoid violent acts of "communication" as much as possible. It only splits us apart. Violence doesn't make us stronger. I have felt my unfair share of violence over the last 23 years in the US and am tired of fighting back, when I know that it most likely only leads to more violence. If the protest is peaceful, I am all for it, but not if it calls for criminal acts. I have been on the receiving end of these criminal acts and for what? I did not hurt or take from anybody & I worked my back off for 23 years to have what I have. We cannot take on the attitude that there will be casualties in these protests and accept it. Just put yourself in the shoes of those business owners who scraped up every penny and nickel for 30-40 years to keep their business, and then lost it in one night because someone threw a Molotov cocktail through their window. They don't have spare change in the amounts of $100K to start over again. We must find a solution peacefully & lawfully. How do we want our grandchildren to remember us?
@Divinity X I understand your frustrations. I feel them too. Believe me. I have left Education after 23 years, because I saw too much corruption there, and couldn't make a dent with other teachers who were frustrated along with me. Yet, they were too timid to stand up. Civil unrest is sometimes necessary, but the violence we have witnessed in recent months in the U.S. is so frightening, especially for a single woman like me. I actually considered getting a gun again, after nearly 20 years of not owning one. I just hope that people do not lose sight and I hope that they don't start to hurt one another nationwide, instead of defend and imprisoning the perpetrators. It has already happened in too many places. Let's hope we can solve this without more senseless injuries. Stay safe.
George Floyd died from a fentanyl overdose/hysteria. The cop will walk free if there is any true justice left. Then the real rioting will start. You don't have to worry if you are Japanese. The Maoists and blacks will attack but there are plenty here willing to/and have been preparing to fight them for a half-century. Critical race theory has blinded people from seeing reality. They can't be dealt with and I'm afraid there's going to be only one way in dealing with them if they push too far
@Bulgarian Horticulture Specialist PhD Correct. Individualism doesn't work when you're confronted with unified groups who hate your guts. This founding speech is more brilliant and much more direct and explicit than Murray: nationaljusticeparty.com
Bulgarian Horticulture Specialist PhD individualist? He’s speaking on behalf on the silent majority on issues which are clearly of importance to many British citizens. For me, the more rational right of centre thinkers we can get - the better. There is an overrepresented minority in this nation of radical leftists who would sooner destroy our culture than actually contribute anything useful to society.
@@BrawsonProductions True, but we need White unity, not individualism. That's the only way to confront this from a position of power. Everything else boils down to begging them to "stop and think what they are doing" or something equally ineffectual that Murray would propose. He never talks about solutions. And he certainly never mentions where all this is coming from, i.e. who is the ideological vanguard of the left (and has always been). Trotsky, a.k.a Lev Davidovich Bronstein. Churchill knew the truth and he wrote about it in Sunday Herald: en.wikisource.org/wiki/Zionism_versus_Bolshevism
Thunderstruck I would disagree that ‘white unity’ is what the solution is here. Rather than stoop to the level of the left with this Marxist doctrine that individuals are categorised on race rather than a class system. We need more nationalism, less self deprecating identity politics and ‘white guilt’ displayed by the left, and frankly less pandering to this ridiculous notion that if you’re not with them then you’re against them. The need for healthy political debate and discourse is now more that ever! An environment has been created perhaps due to social media that if you oppose anything they say, you’re shunned as a racist/nazi. This fear of people to speak out at the risk of being publicly smeared is creating a wimpy, soft nation who are now having to ban TV shows because they’re ‘offensive’. The moment political discourse begins to break down and only one side is being heard due to censorship - we’re all fucked!
Yes, much too good for the masses that avoid critical thinking, embrace the ridiculous, and find purpose in championing a phantom problem. Murray is unfortunately much too educated and insightful to impact the sheep who choose to wear blinders.
Couldn't agree more but in a time where people believe what they want based on false narratives what good is facts & logic?. Its why most people who have these qualities are labeled racist or extremist.
@bobby sternlicht Friend, you are brainwashed. The US is the most prosperous, privileged & egalitarian nation in history, despite having a past (like ALL nations) that involves misogyny & r@ce-based divisions. I say this as a mixed woman of color who's worked all over the world: we are better off in the US. Are there events in which a person's prejudices might impact their actions? Of course. Should we continue working to improve our society to make it more just? Always. But to focus on the negatives blinds us to reality. This is the great danger of social media - it blows up a few incidents & shows that to the world. Far more police are sh0t by criminals than criminals sh0t by police. Our police are tasked with maintaining law & order in a highly armed society, so when a criminal resisting arrest reaches into his pocket or car, they must assume he'll raise that arm in a hail of bu11ets, so they must neutralize that threat. Whether or not he's armed is irrelevant to their justified use of force, yet the media immediately runs the headline "unarmed man sh0t by c0ps!" In my city, NYC, persons of color commit 97% of h0micides, so it's impossible to eliminate r@cial disparity in policing until we change that. Our communities know this & our black leaders in the Bronx have made clear that we do NOT want our police defunded. NYPD is mostly minority cops, anyway, & has a higher approval rating than our mayor or teachers union. Our police save lives & prevent terr0rist attacks. The Marxist lie of BLM does not reflect the views of actual bl@ck folks in our country. The DNC funds BLM riots in election years like 2016 & 2020 to rile up society & increase turnout of bl@ck voters. They do this while simultaneously telling us, as Biden has "the other side wants to put bl@ck folks in chains!" & "If you don't vote for me, you ain't bl@ck." The manipulation is embarrassing. If you doubt this, note that the website antifa (dot) com is owned by Biden campaign & redirects to his election site which requests donations. The DNC is literally bailing out rioters, advertising the riots & fundraising from them. Then, Biden tells America that he'll stop the rioting if we elect him. Of course he will. After the election, whoever wins will put the remaining protestors in jail. He'll say he "established law & order" & claim that as a success of his presidency. Don't let yourself be used by BLM. Don't buy into a narrative that doesn't empower you, that says we lack privilege & are unable to better our place in society without government handouts. More & more of us are waking up, & that is why the bl@ck vote has swung 30% in the direction of conservatives in recent months. Older persons of color vote largely out of fear, bc some can recall Jim Crow. But even they are starting to see that the Constitutional amendments & equal rights given to us are permanent & nobody wants to take them away. We need to move on from voting based on skin tone & stop letting ourselves be manipulated
My word! What a truly astonishing and enlightening conversation, this is absolutely the kind of informed and well thought out video that should be shown in every single history class around the entire school system of the U.K. Most impressive.

Just historically that would be a blind assumption. Let alone how a pandemic would attack the different economic levels of our society and systemic issues. Then the "leaning a bit less on the differences between us" just blows me away at the lack of insight. Really? He should be protected for saying stuff like that? If he actually wanted us to come together as a society maybe we need to address those differences first, right? Otherwise you're assuming those differences don't matter because YOU PERSONALLY aren't effected by them. Which is another of his dumb assumptions. His "critique" of BLM is largely made up of distractions... "there was this one case SIX years ago where he lunged for the gun"... and then to imply BLM consider him a martyr!!!! FFS. He then says nobody thinks black lives don't matter. Are you f'ing kidding me? For somebody who claims to have followed them quite closely he certainly hasn't been paying attention and still remains insanely ignorant about them. Anyway enjoy your "legend". The eminent philosopher, Roger Scruton left this world too soon. But Scurton lives on in Douglas Murray. Whenever we listen to Douglas Murray, we can hear very similar views that Scruton would have expressed concerning the preservation of our culture and heritage.
I disagree, Murray is great and always worth listening to but he's no philosopher. Listen to his interview with Cosmicskeptic, a theology undergrad at oxford. By no means was it career-ending but it's clear he's simply not on the same level as Sir Roger Scruton was.
You had better supplant all the idiots on TV and in front of the classrooms with people like him before it's too late. Too many have a warped perspective.
"If you thought the American world order wasn't your taste, you'll LOVE the Chinese one. You'll love when you bring your human rights complaints to the CCP" - Douglas Murray
So so true. While America tears itself apart with movements like BLM and their far-left socialist ideas China continues to prosper because at least its people are united. The far-left think life in the West is bad now? Really? Many intelligent people believe (and have data to prove it) that we live in the best times right now. Wait until China surpasses the US as the leading global superpower and watch the world change. I want to throw these far-left buffoons in China for a year, or the middle east, or Russia, or so many other places in the world where they're completely POWERLESS against their government and with drastically less quality of life. Russia? Your vote is irrelevant, Putin always wins. China? You're not even allowed to browse Facebook or any social media where you can privately gather in groups. Middle east? Better wear a hijab and cover your legs.
That statement on its own is indefensible. No system is perfect, and to try and improve it by criticising its weaknesses and strengthening it, is something both conservatives and progressives agree on. The quoted text is the equivalent of saying, "Oh you don't like the way this country is being run? Go to China, or Russia, or whatever other worse off nation you can think of." Something neither of the parties wants. I haven't heard much from Murray, from what I have, he seems like a man who favours reason. Out of context quotes like that don't do him justice.

There are many that support the grass roots movement but not the organisation. There are also many that support the protests but not the rioting. Making these kind of grand generalisations about people with a particular ideology is the kind of identity politics that Murray speaks out against. I'm a supporter of the BLM movement and I listened to the talk. I agreed with some things and disagreed with others. I haven't read his book but I am completely open to it. As someone who considers himself on the left regarding most social and economic issues, I wouldn't for instance say that everyone who supports tuition fees is a cold blooded, sociopath. This kind of language is divisive and untrue.
@@ollies246 Nobody in America denies that "black lives matter", so the entire premise for BLM's movement is a diversion. The "peaceful" protesters support the riots by default. BLM's leaders are self proclaimed Marxists, are they not? They are angry, race baiting thugs, no different than ANTIFA. Their public comments are obvious proof, and their core doctrine, found right on their website, denotes their distain for American values. Liberals who support the Democrat platform support ultra high taxes, elimination of fossil fuels, open borders, free health care (even for illegal immigrants), free education for all, universal basic income, elimination of our 1st and 2nd amendment rights, indefinite enforcement of mask mandates (among many other social mandates), defunding of police departments, empowerment of radical organizations, destruction of historical monumemts, and post-birth abortion. I've left some of their insane positions out, no doubt. The Democrat Party has become radicalized. It takes an honest person 30 seconds to realize this. The party is so disconnected that their lead candidate is an elderly man with dementia. To deny this is irresponsible. Not a single, viable, old-school liberal wants anything to do with the leadership of the party, and so the radicals roll over them. I'm seasoned enough to remember when Democrats were pro-American, and pro-Constitution. Those days are gone. Every city in America that is currently on fire from rioting, is run by Leftist Democrats. Every rioter, looter, and protester in those cities is a Democrat voter. They seek only destruction and offer no solutions. Why? Because they are rage filled and cannot think clearly enough to offer any. They are "useful idiots" for a cause that is designed to destroy the entire country, starting with Portland and coming to a town near you. You feel that the "cause" is about racism. You, my friend, are wrong.
@Cylenium I wasn't comparing them at all. I was making an analogy to highlight the senselessness in making these kinds of generalisations. My point was that you see it on both the left and the right and it does nothing but close down discussion and push people away from your argument. Murray is so right about this. I do take your point thought. Perhaps tuition fees wasn't the best example. You could use support for the war in Iraq instead. I wouldn't say that everyone who supported the war in Iraq was a cold blooded, sociopath. There are those who might, but I find it nonsensical and simply untrue. You're making an argument, using reason and I whole heartedly support you in doing so. I'm aware that the BLM movement is founded by self proclaimed Marxists but I wasn't aware that they are responsible for death. Because you decided to use discussion rather than identity politics, I'll research that. This is the point I was making.
@@matsfreedom You and I have so much to untangle in this discussion. However, it's too much for me on a youtube comments section I'm afraid. I don't think we'd do anything but butt heads. The cop was following departmental guidelines on how to deal with an uncooperative retainee like Floyd. That has been completely overlooked in such a rush to judgement.
And Floyd also was likely suffering from the effects of a drug overdose, if you watch the body cam footage he says repeatedly that he can't breathe WAY before the cops ever lay him on the ground and he also asks the police to lay him down. In a few shots you can also see white foam coming from Floyd's mouth, another sign of a drug overdose. It's true, any type of "Asian" is being considered "economically & politicially wh!te" bc they have a higher annual income & better test scores than average. I think "Southeast Indian" Americans' average annual income is even higher than the "Asian" category, although that's partly due to their tendency to live in multi-generational households & have family businesses, which makes the "household income" figure an imperfect metric to measure prosperity. Nevertheless, Indian Americans do occupy a higher status in society & will undoubtedly be targeted by these r@ce-obsessed radicals at some point

Absolutely not and so you have to be very careful of thinking you know what is right and thinking you can impose your concept of what is right on everybody else because you may turn out, and historically no one has ever been able to escape this, to be wrong."
All people who enter or live in a country ,regardless what country -the laws of that country must be accepted otherwise you are a criminal in that country . If the laws of the country you are in are not fully acceptable to you then it is time to find a more suitable country to move too .
And you know that just because that they are laws doesn't make them just. Many people knew the laws in nazi Germany were unjust but they had families and lives there and they probably hoped that things might be OK
@Molly Mars No that's true, but that doesn't mean all laws in the UK are just. Many laws still benefit the wealthy landowners above the working and middle classes. When somebody points out that these laws are unjust, doesn't mean that they should leave the country, surely it is in the public interest to make them just. Most folks in the UK are too stupid to see how they are conditioned to believe things about the UK that other countries would find absurd. I noticed how this guy's boarding school plummy accent acts like a dog whistle to us working class people. Had Murray had a broad Yorkshire accent I am sure that he would not be as convincing to us. It is always good to be aware of these biases in our own thinking
The problem with books by people like Murray is that those who should read them the most to educate themselves don't read them. Those who do read them mostly find more or less confirmed what they already knew/ thought.
So essentially... the people who don’t read his books should read his books, and the people who do read his books, well it wasn’t really as important... I think this is why Jake Taylor reacted like that - You could say the same thing about literally any kind of useful knowledge: the people who don’t know should know and the people who do, well they aren’t as benefitted by it. It’s a very confusing and pointless point if you break it down. People who read are typically smarter than those who don’t, so it’s not surprising that people who read his books lean towards agreeing with him. The point of books is to inform those who are open to the ideas, we don’t expect it to convert those who are not open to ideas. The problem is people being close-minded and ignorant to information, not the fact that books are being written that they choose not to read. But I do agree with your point: people who don’t read should read.
@@BlurryDays I do read his and many other books. It wasn't meant as interpreted. Maybe I didn't state the point in the best way possible. The reaction however shows another issue which is that in today's society negative intentions are assumed from the get go instead of assuming that the other person means well. Resorting to immediately calling somebody/ something stupid or other things doesn't solve anything nor does it contribute to constructive discourse. Asking questions with real intent of gathering more information would. But that is work and one has to overcome ego which is probably our biggest enemy. I'm not saying nobody should read. Even if you take the, apparently poor worded, statement about those who do read some books are just confirming what they already though, that in itself is not a bad thing either. The tendency, especially online, seems to pick out fragments of something and then take offense while ignoring the more important part. Those who should read books like Murray's, or Graeber's, or Hegel, or Kant, or Plato, or any other works don't.
I used to hear people talking about him being far-right. So I thought I'd take a look and see for myself. And here he is perfectly reasonable, very intelligent and eloquent.

That the Georgian Stalin museum tourguide said about Stalin: "He... was like a hurricane." Is... so incredibly profound. This is why history is so important and we need to remember it. I have noticed Joe is somewhat on the left and while he will interview conservative people, he now again will show his true colours. Making the comment about the illegal migrants and stating that there is some form xenophobia... The reason there is a concern, is firstly this has been happening for years, second we don't know anything about their backgrounds and while 4000 people doesn't sound a lot, what if a third or a half of those people were violent criminals? I wouldn't be comfortable knowing that we were importing violent criminals or worse terrorists onto our streets, then imagine that number of people coming in each year. On top of that, we have a huge housing crisis and quite frankly there is no room for more and with a national debt reaching 2 trillion, we certainly don't have the money to support more that will for most part take more out of the system than put in.
If you are more concerned about 4000 desperate human beings, when there are 54 billionaires in the UK who pay no tax and your government is ripping apart your public services and rigging the economy in the interests of the 1%, well all I can say is you have been duped and who does it benefit for you to be focussing on people who have literally no power
Sadly, the UK has let so many of these people in, I scarcely recognize London. I'm a New Yorker but split my time with London & have done so for 20 years. I fear the situation is nearly irreversible, bc the immigrants are refusing to assimilate & are reproducing at a rate much higher than British. FWIW, I'm a person of color myself, but like many bl@ck Americans, I consider myself first & foremost an American. The immigrants to the UK do not consider themselves British. In fact, they "other" the British & attempt to prey upon them, as you see with these 'Asian gr00ming gangs preying upon women.' The first time I heard that from the UK press, it brought to mind Korean nail salons making employees work long hours, bc that's what it would mean in the US. Come to find out, it's actually referring to radical Islamists attacking British children. The UK is far too polite. If you're not going to protect your citizens, then you need something like America's Second Amendment that will enable them to protect themselves.
@@Harry-fy3te that's a bit of a dumb statement. If someone is born here they have the right to citizenship, but we can vet the people coming in. If they want to become a citizen they should be capable of proving they will have a positive influence on society. You can say 'why does it matter if we let people who are potentially violent criminals come in when violent criminals are born here?' But at least we can choose with the people coming in. We don't have to say that because violent people are born here we don't care about adding some more through immigration. I'd rather just have less violent people in general. There's nothing wrong with vetting people who willingly choose to move here, and we owe it to the people all living here and contributing to the system to ensure there's less potential harm to them.
As he continues, Murray becomes more passionate, more convincing, and more evidently wise than earlier. I would argue that the study of humanities such as History and Geography are essential to understanding the conflicts that bedevil our world. I was a Chomsky-loving anti-imperialist for decades, but I've come to believe that the sentiment that Douglas is expressing here--when China takes over as global hegemon, people will realize how good we all had it under the Pax Americana--is entirely correct.
It's mildly terrifying... He's said in a couple of interviews recently that the Corona virus might be just the beginning of something. Could be the beginning of a world war with China... Bankrupting your enemies would be a good start if you want to start a war...

Stay safe.

Why is he a legend!? From this video alone I'm surprised anybody even finds him interesting. He didn't think COVID would amplify problems in our society?
FFS. So so true. While America tears itself apart with movements like BLM and their far-left socialist ideas China continues to prosper because at least its people are united. That statement on its own is indefensible. No system is perfect, and to try and improve it by criticising its weaknesses and strengthening it, is something both conservatives and progressives agree on.

Those that support BLM can't get past their rage long enough to listen to a reasoned, intelligent man like Murray.
Virtually none of them are speaking out against the rioting and looting. BLM supporters are defacto supporters of a Marxist movement, and are clueless of the actual "cause".
His actual cause of death was likely the OD on top of the stress of the situation and possibly heart problems.
Yeah the cops do need some better guidelines but they are not always out of line. Floyd was cuffed and not armed and he just kneed him to death with 4 of them I think they could have managed an arrest they did not really care. It is good they were arrested. Look at Australia now though they are arresting people even a pregnant woman for a facebook post. It's not just blacks is the issue.

What I worry as an Indian is the fact that we might be the next in line after the Whites. Maybe after the Whites and the Asians.

And a certain humility is required in that situation. How should you act, as well as you can given the information you've got, will you act perfectly even if you think you're the best person? @Molly Mars No that's true, but that doesn't mean all laws in the UK are just. Many laws still benefit the wealthy landowners above the working and middle classes. When somebody points out that these laws are unjust, doesn't mean that they should leave the country, surely it is in the public interest to make them just. The problem with books by people like Murray is that those who should read them the most to educate themselves don't read them. Those who do read them mostly find more or less confirmed what they already knew/ thought.
What a stupid patronising remark,
@@jaketaylor3603 Really? How so? Care to explain or are you just randomly insulting people you don't know and never will?
I agree absolutely with you. It wasn't patronising at all.

@@kjhfds98231 If you were a black american who was deeply affected by this issue and decided to make a civil rights group to combat it, then you could name it whatever you want. You didn't so three women took it into their own hands and that is the name they chose. And it didn't lose the movement in the least.
If only the world saw through these eyes. Wonderful interview! Plato would be proud! 😁🇺🇸
This was an exceptionally interesting conversation that I thoroughly enjoyed. If only we'd hear more of such truths and realities from the media instead of being bombarded by apologists who are misinformed and in pursuit of a false agenda.
Absolutely
That the Georgian Stalin museum tourguide said about Stalin: "He... was like a hurricane."
Is... so incredibly profound. This is why history is so important and we need to remember it.
Taking down statues and trying to rewrite it only creates opportunities for us to make the SAME mistakes we could have avoided.
There's nothing amazing about the mob deleting history that is supposed to be like the lighthouses for humanity.
What a charming, intelligent and well-spoken man. I wish we had leaders like him.
Proud parents, I’m sure.
It's sad, but because idiots don't know enough, happiness is being destroyed.
It's willful ignorance sometimes too.
Those who DO study history are doomed to watch everyone else repeat it while not listening to them 'cause "History's boring, man!"
Joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, perseverance and self control are being systematically attacked by many different forces. These include the subject under discussion and Covid-19 rules. They all have the same root [Satan]. Prince of this world until he is destroyed by Christ's return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Things will get worse. Tribulation is around the corner. Accept Jesus as your Saviour and repent of your sins. There is no one good. All have fallen short.

@@somedandy7694some like BLM do not look at history correctly. My history teacher taught us to never look at history from the perspective of a time ahead of the period you are looking at to understand it. For example look at medieval beliefs as a medieval person would.

I love interviewers who say very little, ask questions only to clarify / stay on track & let the interviewee express their opinion. Great talk with Douglas Murray. Thanks Joe.
Douglas’s analysis on the asylum system in Britain and the USA is spot on. Why are we allowing so many able bodied fighting aged men into our countries for very trivial reasons?
Douglas manages to critique without offending. Such a wonderful talent that so few people can master.
really! is this the first time you've heard him? as stated the acceptable face of modern fascism, so what does that make you?
I'm sure he's offending a lot of left-wing halfwits...
@@sentinal2343 are you implying that Douglas Murray is a Fascist?
@@lynn5490 He wants to preserve the current paradigm, like you, which is to the detriment to the majority of the earth's population and environment , my definition of a fascist, so YES, with a definite hint of racism, can't really have one without the other !
@@sentinal2343 So let me get this straight, If a country wants to preserve its sovereignty and protect its borders and citizens that makes them fascists? So you like globalism, where you take from the productive and give to the non productive or reward bad governments with other peoples hard work? Hum interesting concept. Not like its ever been tried before, sucessfully..lol.
So glad more people seem to be picking up on DM in 2020 and listening closely to him. He is one of the most important thinkers we have and has been working hard to fully develop his theories and thoughts so they are ready just when we need them the most. I hope that DM and his current IDW cohort will shake some sense back into the West.
Do you know the backgrounds of the legal citizens in your country? That seems like a massive breach of personal privacy
@@scarlet8078 what's wrong with 'these people' exactly, and how can you tell who 'these people' are when you're in London?
Fantastic! I’ve never heard him be so passionate and direct. He’s a gem.
I could listen to him all day, but then I do agree with most of his views
As he continues, Murray becomes more passionate, more convincing, and more evidently wise than earlier. At first he was clearly intelligent and insightful; in midstream his convictions come to the fore and he expresses what is in his heart and you realize --: this man has wisdom. This is a great man in the making. As he grows older, he will take his place among the greats. How fortunate he is young during my lifetime.
Great comment.
🇬🇧 Always a great pleasure. Thank you DM 💕🇬🇧
It’s blessing to see there are some intelligent and critical thinkers left in the world.
