Just goes to show that results don't always follow paper and that with a couple of decent centre forwards and a set piece specialist, Croatia were often a greater threat in final 3rd back then than they are today, despite the significant gulf in quality in the middle of the park.
2000-2004 is far worse. 2004 was OKeish with Prso. 2006 was better. That was good team which underperformed wc06. Since Bilic we are ok. Few problems from 2008-2011 but still ok. After 2014 we are about top 10 in the world...and we have never been worse then top 25. Even in bad years. I am talking about realistic lists, not fifa list
