      Its amazing until less than 2 years old and warranty exist, the very first dealer repair you will have to pay for, you will be looking for another car...and it wont be MB.

    Have had one of these for about a year now and I would have to disagree about the ride/drive quality. Feels anemic off the line unless you floor it. If you ever do floor it, the throttle response is terrible. 1-2 second delay from the time you put your foot down to when the car decides to actually go. Ride is pretty rough too. It is beautiful inside and out though. That was the main reason we bought it so at least it’s not disappointing in that aspect.

      How’s the maintenance & reliability been?

    • @bradl1982
      @bradl1982 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Adrianinhdwe ended up getting rid of it because of the maintenance costs. At around 10k miles we went in for “service a” basically just an oil change. I believe it was about $375. Ridiculous for an oil change but I understand it’s a luxury car so understand it’s going to have a premium price. Before we left the service advisor said be prepared for service b, it will be more expensive and run about $800. ~20k miles rolls around so I make an appointment and prepare myself for the $800 bill. While checking in the service advisor said ok, looks like you’re due for service b then starts listing all the things they’re going to do, oil change, differential fluid, air filters, rotate tires, windshield wipers, I believe brake fluid (can’t remember if that was one of the things) I’m thinking to myself ok, $800 is crazy but sounds like they’re doing quite a bit even though having to change differential fluid at 20k miles seems a little excessive. The maintenance advisor then says ok, looks like that’s going to be $1500. I was like wtf, I thought service b was $800 then he says oh service b only includes the oil change and differential fluid. We let them do that and went to breakfast. While at breakfast they call and say hey, these tires are looking pretty bald, we can put some on there for about $2k. I thought they were crazy and said no. It only had 20k miles on it. No way it should need tires. Got there picked it up, paid my $800 then go out and look at the tires myself and sure enough those things already needed to be replaced. I guess my wife had been drifting it around corners or something. I didn’t want to deal with the ridiculous continued cost of MB maintenance and didn’t want to buy new tires so we just traded it in and downgraded to a VW suv. It sucks but my wife likes it, the maintenance is free from the dealership we bought it from for the first 5 years and insurance went down about $100 a month.

    7 reasons why you shouldn`t buy a GLE 350.
    - 0-60 , 8 seconds.That`s slower than a Grand Cherokee with an engine older than the hills.
    - Some of the worst reliabilty ratings of any SUV out there. Certainly the worst Merc right now
    - Performs like a Highlander for more than twice the price. Totally overpriced car.
    - Suspension like a Pretzel. This thing handles like a rubber duck.
    - If you like to spend 65 K on plastic seats, go right ahead.
    - Be prepared to fix the brakes (including rotors) every 25K miles
    - You can get an X5 50e for the same money. Double the horsepower and air suspension.
    But hey, there`s good news. Here is why you should buy one:
    You don`t know the first thing about cars and neither do the folks who think you bought a great SUV. You think Mickey Mouse screens, cartoonish displays and disco lights are the most important thing in a new car. You don`t care about tons of issues with your car cause you got a Merc. And last but not least, you want to drive a Merc but can`t afford a real one. Kind a like the C-Class buyers who think they drive a baby S-Class. It`s nowhere near an S-Class; it`s a joke with as bad an engine as this ridiculous GLE.

    4 banger less then 270 horsepower 71 thousand dollars? OMG. Pass

    • @Jeymez
      @Jeymez หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's a Mercedes, not a Hyundai or Honda.
      so it only makes 270 horsepower, that does not matter,
      plus it makes over 300 ft of torque, giving you a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds.
      that's plenty of power, but only someone who's broke will
      complain about a Mercedes being 71 grand, but be completely okay
      with domestic cars costing over 40.
      now you might say i do work, yeah but you obviously can't afford this.
      no one who has money or wish they can afford one, is going to complain
      about a 4 banger. well you better get used to it, because that's where
      the industry is going. the only concern would be, how reliable it'll be long term.
      but most people who purchase a Mercedes, usually does a 3 year lease deal.
      that's how it is goes, the average car buyer only buys a used one depending
      on the condition.

    • @Alwaysbeclosing1774
      @Alwaysbeclosing1774 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jeymez You're obviously not a car guy. P.S. I wouldn't buy a slow domestic car for over 40 grand either.

    • @Jeymez
      @Jeymez หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Alwaysbeclosing1774 i like cars just as much as the next guy, but a true car guy doesn't care about how fast or slow something is.
      the only time it matters, is when you buy a sports car.
      you expect that to be fast, but for everything else, you just need enough power to get you from point A to B.
      so 71 grand for a Mercedes makes sense, even if it a 4 banger, and like i told you it's not slow. no Mercedes is ever slow, but they're not going to make every vehicle they make super fast. still a Mercedes is more than just the engine, if you buy a sports car that's all you care about, but you buy a Mercedes because of top quality. now there not the only one, any of the premium luxury brands are worth the money.
      now i will admit they're more expensive than they used to be, but everything is expensive these days.
      also not even domestic cars are slow anymore, the only thing i miss are V6 engines.
      those are sadly going away, but you eventually adapt and get used to things.
      now you might say i don't like it, yeah and i get it.
      but you're also talking more of a reliability matter, than being upset that it's a 4 cylinder. that's because V6's are tried and true, there's years upon years of development.
      so when you have that, that's why people are resistant.
      but like anything, you have to give it time, and i do believe in time, turbos will get better.
      as they build more and find new ways to work at them, they'll be just like all the V6's and V8's we've had all these years. now will i miss them, sure but the only thing I'll miss is the sound.
      see right now the reason turbos are less reliable, it's because most turbos are only used in certain cars.
      so because of the way they were usually made, you can't expect overnight success.
      now thankfully you have people in the industry, that's pushing for them to get better. that's what you want, i do think they should keep some V6's around for SUV's and trucks, but for crossovers and sedans a 4 cylinder is fine.

    I've been a huge MB fan my entire life. Unfortunately, recent mecedes have been having huge issue with oil leaks mainly from not having enough torque on their nuts, parts. Out of all their cars my brother worked on... he says almost more that half of them are not assembled properly with enough torque!
