2023 Mercedes GLE 450 // Smooth as Silk, but BETTER than BMW X5??

  • Here's the very-opulent 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450! The 450 powertrain is a mild-hybrid inline-6 which is one of the most refined engines in the world. There is also loads of luxury and technology inside the cabin. But is this a better choice than the 2023 BMW X5 or 2023 Lexus RX 350??

    The GLE is nice. Its a great all around luxury SUV. When you compare to the X5 in which u guys just recently posted, they are quite frankly similar in many ways, as you would expect from german luxury SUV’s. However i think the GV80 3.5T stands on top in terms of overall value and luxury. This is just as good as the germans. in terms of customer loyalty and considering the GLS is one of the if not the best selling that Mercedes has in its lineup, and u can really see that. U see more of these than GLS’s on roads.

    Have this near exact spec, but with the night package (which I think makes a huge difference) and it's a 53. Only complaint I have is that CarPlay doesn't fill the whole screen, which is such a waste. Otherwise I'm 1 year out and it's been perfection.

    I just dont get why german brands put third rows in vehicles that just aren’t meant for it. Bmw does it as well as VW. Genesis with the GV80. Thats what the purpose of the GLS serves. Yes, it maybe used occasionally but lets be for real now. Are people really buying the third row for its use or because they want the second row extra goodies😬. I mean it takes away from cargo space kind of and then when you are using the 3rd row it becomes claustrophobic for some people. U see Lexus canceled RX-L for the new generation. because it was not meant for a 3rd row. Which is why we have a replacement which is the upcoming TX. I just don’t see the purpose of spending extra cash on a very tight third row when im quite sure for people who are buying this can at least get a base GLS. They’re not to far off in price

      2023 lexua rx 350 luxury package is awful. The car doesn't have a luxurious interior now following the redesign. Feels very cheap sitting in car.. not even wood on doors now. Cheap plastic. Soft touch paper then.

    A column mounted gear shift lever !?! I thought I'd seen the last of that sort of old, old man technology-- how disappointing, especially coming from Mercedes. Big , stupid backward moving DEAL BREAKER !?! It is bad enough on the big GM suv's-- why would MB copy such tastelessness ? BORING !!!!!!😢😮😂

    • @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh
      @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh ปีที่แล้ว

      You're missing half the story - for just getting into Park, Drive, Neutral, they've had the column-mounted lever for more than a decade. Then there are paddle shifters on the wheel for up and down shifting which work really nicely and in real time, no lag. Besides I never bought my Benz SUV's for anything but carrying a lot of stuff and doing it comfortably and my GLE 450 has just as much power when I need it as the best X5 and way better build quality. For performance I have a GT3 - manual tranny.

    This car is complete garbage in its base form. The 4 cyl cannot pull this vehicle and the infotainment is awful! Outside of interior space, The X5 steamrolls this car in every single way!

    • @peterking3131
      @peterking3131 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually not, 450 does around 5.2 s 0-60 and with JB4 (simple inexpensive mapping upgrade) it achieves better acceleration then stock AMG53 (around 4,7 s). Even though I drive, from time to time I enjoy the feel of its power. Talking as previous owner of X5 and X6 (V8). It is not inferior. 350 is indeed a bit slow, but its price compensates for that.

    • @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh
      @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually the X5 has lousy cheap feeling build quality, less cargo space by far (and some of us buy these UTILITY cars with this in mind) and the newest X5's are effing hideous with the latest grills and other crap styling cues.

    Benz is still the king in this segment. 450 is truly magnificent, engine can be easily tuned to 430HP (JB4 is probably the best bet) without risk to the powertrain. Can't ask for more.
