lots of great ideas! i like the process of 'day before' mark making with black, as an under layer for the color and texture added on the next day. very effective. will definitely try this. (and i'll cut down my silicone brush to use it like you did.) :) thank you!!

SPLATTER!!! I with your videos were longer, so I loved this! Besides, I wouldn't say 37 minutes is long,,not compared to some that ALWAYS last at least an hour.

splatter.....splatter ....... watched your whole video and loved it. Could have watched you doing some more with the painty papers. That tag was stunning. Thanks for doing this as I am one who does not have more than two or three stencils and also no gel plate. Very creative.
Thanks Susan and thank you also for watching all of the video, I think it is the longest I have ever done. Mind you, I enjoy watching long ones in the evening. Not everyone likes stencils or gelli printing, so I was determined to make the video accessible to all. It was lots of fun! 💗💗

What an awesome thing to do. As I was watching, I was thinking that they would make really cool journal cards and tags by cutting blind and you made a tag! Absolutely loved how it turned out. Loved the printable too 😊💜

Thanks Chris, that dog treat thing came from a shop near me called New Life that sells seconds, they have various categories, one homewares, one clothing and one that is a weird jumble. Once it is gone, it is gone. I hope you can find one somewhere, the texture is great! 🥰💗🥰

This is the way I make collage paper. I need to use more recycled paper. Some of mine I absolutely do not like but now I see you can pull out parts of it and use them. thank you so much for this video. Love the long ones. I am doing 100 days of stencil girl.

Aw, thanks Lindsey, I just scored some new tools from the kitchen department in a pound shop, I can hardly wait to use them with paint, LOL. They are cake scrapers all with different patterned edges, I just couldn't resist! 😂💗

Some of these papers would not look out of place at The Summer Exhibition! Splatter! Which is a good word because I need to a splatter box myself!!
I am too scared to sew through cardboard on my machine - is it really that safe??
Thanks Jane - yes my spray booth is fabulous, I still managed to get paint on me, but less around me anyway. I indeed sew through cardboard, my machine was inexpensive and pretty basic and I have had it nearly 10 years now and so far, so good! 💗💗
I suggest testing a small piece first if you are unsure how your machine will work, and sew slowly. You may have to adjust your tension and/ or use longer stitches. 😃

Great info and lovely papers! Could you please explain what an "ATC" is? FWIW, I like some of your papers as stand-alone abstract prints!
Thank you very much, you are so kind. An ATC is an Artists Trading Card, where people make arty cards to swap with other ATC makers. They are 3.5x2.5" in size and they are always exchanged, not paid for. I hope that helps!

Yay! Thank you very much Margaret, yes the reels are quite limiting, thank goodness for TH-cam. I may do a series of videos in the future with some of the more complex tag designs, they will be much slower, obviously, which is much easier to watch and hopefully educational too. 💗😊💗
Splatter!!! I think longer is better. One can always stop the video and come back later if they don’t have time in one sitting to watch to the end. But you can’t lengthen a shorter one!! It’s good content!!

Splatter, long video but watched it all and enjoyed it. Currently doing my first year of a painting degree part time while I work full time. Having to learn about collage ideas again as not done since i was a child
LOL, thank you and oh, what fun doing a painting degree. I did it as a mature student while working too, it was tough, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can recommend the book Collage Techniques by Gerald Brommer, it is an old one, but very good. I have bought it 3 times in my life after giving it away, then regretting it! 💗💗

Hi Kari! I really loved this video! Since I am new to art journaling this was so helpful for making some base pages, something I haven’t done very much of yet. I watched the video all the way through then decided to give it a try myself, following along step by step. ( I only got as far as the roller painting before I needed to take a break… I start up again tomorrow.) I do have a question about your paint. I am using Liquitex Basics opaque paint however I wasn’t able to make continuous marks-like the circles, long lines, etc. I tried adding a bit of water but then my black was more gray. Can you give me any tips to make my paint more fluid? Thank you for your help and inspiration!
Hi Julie, you can add some gel medium to make your paint more cooperative, maybe. Alternatively, add some thickener like wallpaper paste or cooked cornstarch. See what works for you! ❤️
