Gosh your videos are like warm hugs... Your comfortable demeanor and voice, the high quality footage, the natural scenery, your wife and friends and the lovely conversation... And ofcourse the hands on look at the fish and the resulting dish. I gravitate to you videos anytime I am feel stressed or anxious. Thankyou so much, I have no doubt there is A LOT of effort that goes into all this behind the scenes in terms of equipment and setting up cameras and flying to locations etc. The results are fantastic!
You are by far one of the best chefs I've seen on TH-cam hands down love outdoor chef life been watching and been a fan and a member before you had 10,000 subscribers by far the best TH-cam chef I work in a restaurant and I'm a chef myself and I bow down to you and gives you five stars this looks like an excellent meal
I love your videos, compared to others that do catch and cook too. Anyone can do a catch and cook video; however, the way you explain how you catch, your methods of how to fish, your knowledge of foraging, and the way you cook is so intriguing and enticing. I'm learning from your videos, that's what makes me so interested. I'm learning how to cook through watching your videos! Keep it up, I want to learn more from you.
I thank them for inviting you two up to Alaska! Great couple who really care about the fish and wildlife! I could taste how delicious the food was through my phone 😂
Man you’re making me want to take a road trip and catch some of that copious, glistening, savory herring bukkake. Glad you’re both living the fullest lives! Stay safe out there
HERRING oyakodon! This is one of those dishes that really got me to bite the bullet and buy a REAL rice cooker. I could eat oyakodon breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I LOVE the method of dropping the panko fried protein (chicken in most cases of course!) on top of the first layer of egg, so you can bind everything together for ease of transferring to a bowl when you drizzle in the top layer of egg. This is a very, very interesting take on it, and I'll have to contemplate adding this to my list of potential experiments in cooking. Thank you for inspiring me!
I've been to many different places but Alaska will ALWAYS be my favorite. There's just something about the land, it's breathtaking and so peaceful and serene. Thank you for taking us along with you and I can't wait to see what your Alaskan summer trip brings!
I remember watching your first ever video when you had 30 subscribers, and now you´re here! I´m glad I was able to watch your journey from sushi chef to outdoor chef. Love your vids man! :) Love from Germany

This was a great vid guys , all the shots and drone footage 👍 and your lucky to have friends like that to pop up there and enjoy time on the water , y’all are liv’n the dream , have fun ,stay safe ✌️
Awesome episode Taku, that looks straight 🔥🔥🔥!! Stellar cinematography, that rainbow shot and the drone footage were on point Brotha, cheers Y’al 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
It would be awesome if you did more episodes in Alaska and British Columbia. These are great. It's fascinating to learn about herring spawn, and how different marine life is harvested. It's good to support sustainable seafood. Also, if it is possible, you should go to the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, where they have so many lakes, to try fishing there, and forage for wild edibles. Thanks so much for the excellent content. Cheers, Taku and Jocelyn! #TakuTuesday ✌️🎣
The oyakadon looks amazing. Herring is a hugely underrated fish. It is one of my favourite fish. In Britain, traditionally, the fillets were rolled in pin head oatmeal and fried with bacon. Delicious!
Katsu donburi is my favorite dish! I will order it at a restaurant, but it's a lot of work to make! Just like your dish, Taku! Looked delish, nice job!
The drone shots mixed with all your cinematography was absolutely beautiful. You really did an amazing job filming out there. The Alaska vids are awesome.
