It's still possible to compare apples to oranges. And it's still possible to like one more than the other for the ways that they are different. The film version of Grease was a hundred miles better. This adaptation was good, but it is not as good as the film with Olivia Newton John and John Travolta.

I was able to see Grease on Broadway in 1973. Some of the less positive comments here are, in my opinion, because they are comparing this stage production to the film version (they may not even know that's what they are doing). This production compares very favorably to the original. Nice work.

This was pretty good, but they messed up with Danny's reaction to Sandy on the second verse. In the film, she gestures to her own hips with the line, "Feel your way", and Danny pops backward with a funny "Yow!" But on this, she shoved him away like he was a rag doll. It changed the context of that line.

This was honestly the best live musical yet, it was seamless and had an incredible cast. The camera choreography is INSANE, Hairspray was okay
