Without spoiling anything, I think someone else is going to take the role of primary antagonist next season, so we'll have a bit of a break before Homelander steps back into that role.
Annie has every right to be mad at Hughie for going behind her back and ignoring what she wants -- But what's her real alternative? For most of the season it seems like she doesn't have a plausible alternative plan to deal with Homelander, she just won't accept Hughie and Butcher's. She uses social media to put Homelander on his guard, but does she really think that'll last? Or it won't make him snap? Annie is one of the only GOOD people left on this show, but she really doesn't seem to have a plan to deal with Homelander, but lays grand moralizing judgments on the only plan anyone DOES have.
I totally agree she's being a little too naive, while it maybe noble for her to stick to her guns as an honest person, dying for that with no noticeable or effective change would be pointless and downright stupid and homelander would just continue to torture everyone until him or soldier boy destroys the world, hughie may not be completely right in his method because of his insecurities but he is way more understandable and agreeable when it comes to realistically dealing with this, what's the point of being altruistic when it could potentially get everyone killed for no damn reason? I'm not saying it should be by any means, but annie is being way too carless in attempt to stay true to herself, and hannah is being a little too uncharitable to hughie right now, he has way more valid points then annie does in that regard, no point in being headstrong and honest when it does literally nothing.
@@JCHWKamileo I won't bring Hannah into any of this, this is just my reading of the show -- sorry if that came off as backhanded, I just try not to involve critique of real people in discourse about shows haha, it tends to bait arguments and bad faith. But to your point about yeah, it feels like Annie was written into kind of a contrived corner where she stays true to her convictions at the cost of having anything plot relevant to do about it, she basically gives up on fighting Homelander and focuses on the boys.
I don't get why people are suprised that their are are actual people that believe in what Homelander is all about. No matter how much force he uses, there are actual people in the world today like that. This makes things more interesting imo.
Yeah the writers challenge will be how do we top this season?! There is a spinoff show with some ofcthe main cast in it coming too. I fear that because of the popularity of what they created they have begun to milk every drop they can get out of it. The finale is up next and we know season 4 is happening so get ready for more hurt people hurting people 😏
