Great review, as always, Sofyan! The LC500h is such a unique vehicle. The exterior is sleek and headturning, while the interior is luxurious with a sporty alter ego. Not to mention, the LC500h's powertrain uniqueness. Overall, Lexus' flagship coupe is a very impressive vehicle. The infotainment system seems a bit overwhelming at first, but I am sure that owners would get used to it overtime. From one enthusiast to another, keep it up! 👍🏽
You do realize that the hybrid also runs on gasoline, right? I find it terrifying that so many people are still climate change deniers in 2019. Sure V8's sound great, but we all need to start being more responsible and balancing fuel efficiency with performance.

Sofyan! Every Lexus review you state there isn't engine start from the keys, but there has been key start on every Lexus since ~2015. So long as the Lexus Remote app is set up it will activate the keys (Sounds odd, I know). But on the keys you just press lock three times in a row, then hold down on the third time to start the car.
Toyota & Lexus hybrids do not have CVT's, they have eCVT's - they are dramatically different and it's worth stressing that fact. Toyota eCVT's are much more simple and robust than conventional CVTs; there is no dainty belt. They're essentially a differential, with a large electric motor one one input, and the gas engine with a smaller electric motor on the other input. Simple and awesome.
Many thanks for the review. Great that it was after the V8 and still very positive. For me (in the UK) it would have to be the hybrid given the $7.70/gallon cost of fuel.
I got admit I am not a Lexus fan, but I saw the LC500H driving yesterday and thought it looked very nice. But for the lack luster performance for the price, I can't see paying that much for it. Great looking car. Too much for too little though. Good review.
With gas at more than $5/gallon here in CA, I'll save quite a bit of money on trips that include rush hour traffic that pummels the gas-only version of LC.
The main reason to get this over the V8? Cruising range Over 600 miles combined! So if you want to drive from Miami to Washington on 1 fillup, this is your beast Basically you get a choice. Sex from the V8 or brains from the Hybrid
Skip 60% of the video to 15:00 for the drive. The 2GR sounds great with an aftermarket exhaust. This car with a decent exhaust would still sound great. If you want a V8 hybrid, get a used LS600H and get an aftermarket exhaust.

Spain. Cars rated: “0 emissions”, “eco”, “C” and “B”. If you have a C or a B, and there are restrictions in any city due to the pollution, you might rather taking a train. Tell me, what marks do you think the V8 would get? (Not eco, thats for sure). “Hey, but it sounds good”, fuck yes it does, but why would sound matter if you wont be able to drive it at any restricted areas, which, usually and coincidentally, are the ones with the most population?
Well if you live in Europe or Japan, where gas is twice as expensive as in US (5-6 $ a gallon) then it starts to make sense. But as you said, the hybrid version is not aimed at US market.
Evin Herzberg don't see 20 year old Japanese cars? You must be living under a rock. Toyotas 30+/- years old are on the road everywhere. You don't see old German cars on the roads other than some Benz's. German cars live more at the shop than on the road or in the garage.
Camera noise here is really distracting. Also, in general for all reviews, I'd like to trade info on the glove box with for braking performance as it is exponentially more used vs the g box. Love the everything else! Thanks

Every Lexus is like that, you only know it has got ev charge after you start pedalling the gas. If there's no charge it will charge after a few minutes. Nothing bad
If Lexus offered the LC500 with the v10 that was in the LFA I'm sure LC500 sales would be higher then now. Also instead of the 3.5 liter v6 for the LC500h I think they should switch to the 3.3 liter twin turbo v6 that's in the Genesis G70 😉 for the 5.0 version I think they should make a supercharged or a twin turbo charged street legal race version of the LC500 V8. Who agrees with everything or almost everything I just said?! 😁
The transmission holds it back, whats the point of decking it out. At least the LFA has the amazing sound to justify it but i have no idea why they cant get a dual clutch in there
I have to congratulate you Sofyan, not just for the great review, but for opening my perspective (a bit) about the hybrid! I had totally dismissed it facing the V8 model. However I do maintain, at this price point, the hybrid is still pretty pointless... spend 100k for this because it gets better mpg!? Lol. Don't like the ext/int color don't like the smaller wheels, that being said I was waiting for you to test the most complex gearbox in the world, so I will proceed to watch the video now.
Compared to the V8, the hybrid has way less power, weighs more, comes with the same equipment you can get on the gas model, has an inferior transmission, and it costs more to get it...but you get an extra 5-7mpg from combined driving. The hell is the point of getting the hybrid version again?
For some odd reason this auto reviewer and most others have decided to use the word "noise" instead of the word "sound" to describe the exhaust and propulsion sounds made by various vehicles. Noise and sound have different meanings based on individual preference.

I think the You should consider the other power train the “gasoline only” models and the hybrid is the gasoline and electric. Regardless great review, very cool car. I was very much feeling the same before I saw the video that I b thought the car would be boring and slow compared to the V8 LC. But seeing how quick it accelerates and that very interesting combo of a CVT and a 4 speed auto to make a simulated 10 speed. I’m assuming the CVT more acts as a transfer case would, where it has like a high range and low range, or maybe it has a low range, mid range and high range. Where it uses the 1-4th then goes back to like the 2nd or 3rd gear but the CVT ups the ratio to taller final drive so hay 2nd turns into 5th, 3rd into 6th etc so on and so forth. But I’m assuming with the CVT that you could make infinite gears with that 4 speed. You could literally make it a 16 speed simulated gearbox with that setup if it were programmed for it. Very cool idea and good execution by Lexus. Impressive car and I’m extremely surprised by how it’s a “fun” hybrid! Thanks again Sofyan!
