The sports car for the wise and non-juvenile enthusiast. The interior is also incredible. These are way more expensive everywhere else in the world. We do not appreciate these like we should.
Absolutely but the boy racers will think a 0 to 60 of 4.4 seconds is so slooooooooooooow.......
I'm 20 and is my dream car.

Just like we didint appreciate the LFA
The answer is yes. Always yes. There was never any room to debate.
Sad to say but I would rather these stay underrated so the genuine love for it stays rather than people following trends.
I recently came out of a few 911s and to me the LC is a superior on-road product as a daily driver and it just feels more fun. If you don't track your car, this is near hard to beat.
Help......i want a nice sporty car or GT to enjoy before the world goes hybrid, want to drive a head turner, drive pleasure and sound.....for value for money and after some depreciation i am thinking something 2015 to 2017 with about 60,000km and i have come down to the Lexus LC 500, Jag Ftype 250 R or Porche Cayman S........any thoughts or other suggestions car enthusiasts?
@@user-xi2gb1fb6i Honestly, it's gonna come down to driving each of these cars and seeing which one connects with you the most. I cant speak much for the Jag as I dont really look into them that much, but from what I've personally heard, they tend to have a lot of quality issues and spend a lot of time with the mechanic. As far as it goes between the Lexus and the porsche, they are dynamically different cars. The LC is a true GT car while the Cayman is a dedicated sports car. The Porsche will out perform the Lexus all day given its essentially a mid engine go kart and weighs over 1,000 lb less. However, it probably wont come close to the comfort and daily driveability that the lexus has. You gotta go get behind the wheel and see which one you like more. Hope this some what helps!
Spot on review. Presence. One could argue it's the best looking Japanese car period. Reliability. It's truly depressing to pay a pile for a car and be required to take it to the shop every couple of months. I bought a 2011 LX570 2 years ago and have only had to change the oil. Uniqueness. I'm a 911 nut but there's a ton of them. This car really stands out.
This car has a Yamaha engine….i think it’s pretty reliable or else Toyota wouldnt keep….relying on it😂😂😂 they’re soooo worried bout their “reliability” rep that they can’t even bring themselves to R&D, let alone even manufacture, some of their most important vehicles. Forget about this LC500 having a Yamaha engine (same w/ LFA btw) their best selling sports cars- the GR86 & the Supra? They’re quite literally not even Toyotas, none of either car- ones a Subaru the others a BMW😂😂😂😂 so stop kissing their ass for being cowards.
@@MS-mr4zm You seem to be confused w/ the difference between design and manufacture. Shouldn't every car manufacturer be sooooo worried about their reputation for reliability?
@@markwilliams7091 yes - but not so much where they get paralysis by analysis & just throw their hands up & literally have a brand they’ve long insinuated as “unreliable” themselves go ahead & build the latest iteration of what is undeniably their most important performance car in history. It’s absolutely pathetic. Could you F’n imagine if Chevy had Porsche build them a corvette? Would never happen, yet moronic Toyota loyalists who still guzzle their koolaid don’t see how weak in terms of lack of R&D ability + marketing standpoint it is for Toyota to just have the likes of BMW build them a Supra from the ground up. Sad.
Actually Yamaha had input and design of the cylinder heads.
@@MS-mr4zm
Y do u care if there are tons of 911s? Don’t be a hipster
You nailed it I'm Glade to see this there is one in New Jersey that I've seen a few times and it's in a deep deep blue with a terracotta colored interior just striking.
If you’re looking at buying one, I’ve owned one and here is why I got rid of it. I paid cash for it and owned it for over a year and it is a nice car, but I decided to get rid of it. Maintenance on this car is very expensive. Brakes and tires costs around 4k dollars and both don’t last very long. You can expect, at the most 20k miles before you have to replace both. I did not find the fit and finish in this car to be that good. The doors close and rattle, the entire passenger door panel had to be replaced because the leather was not stuck and was bubbling. I never drove this car hard or tracked it. Now, this car was very reliable and you can expect that from a Lexus. You should not have any issues with the engine. Overall, it was a good experience with the car, I traded it in at a Lexus dealer at the peak of used car prices and got more than I paid for it. I bought a new Lexus rx 350 for my wife and walked out with 15k in cash. The engine is incredible, the car is fast and it’s a Lexus. Most people don’t drive them very much, so the wear items should last awhile. Will you like it , yes. Will you keep it long term, I’m not sure about that !
The thing is when everything phase out any gas engine and its V8 will be a collector item in long term and thats what matter for some people bec later on this will ne exotic even now rarely V8 unless its a muscle car.
Your feedback is valuable to me. $4K for tires and brakes every 20K miles is something to prepare mentally for. I have planned to get a used 2024 (most of the bugs and complaints since 2018 edition finally fixed by Lexus) after it has been depreciated for 2-3 years. Will see if I still want it in couple years or I will settle for the ES350 grandpa mobil. Although I make a 7 figure income but I am frugal like Warren Buffett.😅
Why would you spend that much in tires ,you just go to Sam's Club, Costco or Walmart for tires..
@@Rocket9944 do you have an LC? They have 21” tires and they are not cheap. My issue is how fast they wear out. It’s the way the car is designed and they wear out on the inside of the tires, that’s what the manager at the dealer told me. The tires are 500 bucks a piece and you get 20k miles out of a set.
@@17forever64I drive 15-20k miles a year, that’s including a 3-5k mile summer road trip. $4k a year in brakes & tires doesn’t sound fantastic, but doesn’t sound horrible either. Considering what the car is, I would say that’s fair. Compared to what an M or an AMG would be, that’s a bargain
and you are right. I own an '18 and bought it used during early pandemic for a song. People were panicking in the streets and dumping their toys. That being said this car is a keeper. I am not a "boy racer", but a mature man who drives like one. Love the look and feel of this car. It is truly an amazing machine.
Agreed. So comfortable driving long distance.
I picked one up with 84k miles for $47,000 with every option available including carbon fiber roof and LSD, rear steering and ML audio and upgraded wheels and alcantera interior with HUD
That would be the performance package. I have the same.
I'm so jealous.
Very nice.
Nice! I just traded my heavily modified 2015 for a 2019 Lexus LC500. $47k is an amazing deal for an LC.
who to hell sell it for such an unbelievable price :O You definitly should buy three 😃
"That's the deal of the century" I agree~
I have a Infrared LC with the performance package - absolutely zero regrets.

Great review as you did not put this car down once ! Great job !

Tremendously sleek, elegant and timeless design - a truly beautiful design. A fantastic ride for the mature enthusiast. Thanks for the video.
this is one of my favorite sounding cars of all time. I’d buy it for that and that alone
Absolutely. It will last for years, drivable, and most likely will go up in value when people starting to realize how wonderful it is. It will be the next NSX from Japan.
Absolutely!
Same grey color as my LC. It fit perfectly with the curves ❤
Excellent video, mate. Love the LC.
Not many people buy them because most people get their testosterone hung up on 0-60 times and, in the price range, LC gets outmatched... Most people are very short sighted. Long term I think this car will get the appreciation it deserves
I mean when you’re in the market for a $60,000 car and you want high performance especially from a big old V8 it makes sense people look at the 0-60 time of 4.6 and chose something else.
Don’t get me wrong 4 and a half seconds to 60MPH is faster than anything you’ll ever need for “regular driving”. That being said for that same money every other offering from every other car manufacturer is a second plus faster which is enormous.
Another way to put it is why would I spend 60k on a vehicle with identical performance to a 4 cylinder eco boost mustang I can buy for 30k?
@@known3617This will be timeless exotic beauty later on when gas engine phase out and people bought this knew really what it valued and not the 0-60 matters for them, this will be enough people to drool and break neck than the redundant scene in the road mustang ecoboost because of the exotic look of the car and for that all of that matter won’t matter anymore.
What I appreciate the most about this video is that you wore your nicest gym attire to review this beautiful machine. Hope you utilized the ventilated seats ;)
I pray "Good" ones become 50-60k in the future. Am glad they released the touchscreen version, it should allow these "original models" to drop in price. I loved the styling of this version with the RR phantom "art" display.
They are, at least the 2018 ones are for around 30 to 40k miles and up.
@@lei090704 You are right but its not common sight yet. We just have to wait until they discontinue it to see where it will go.
In Saudi you're lucky if you can get a 2018 30k miles for 70k USD
I just bought a 2019 with 16k miles for $74k. Only the 2018s are in the $60k price range .

I just purchased Lexus RC 350 F sport and im inlove! LC 500 is my next baby!
On the same page! ❤ I’m planning on doing the same. They would make a good pair for sure 🙌🏼
I love the LC500. It has the perfect blend of performance, prescence, and quality. I rented one from Turo last year while on vacation, not having any expectations one way or the other. Within about 30 minutes of driving the car, I realized that this car was very special. I am going back to vacation at the same place and will be renting another LC500. I love this car.
The LC500 handles very well for its size, and sounds much better and louder than you would expect from a Lexus. It's also going to be reliable, and turn heads. It's the best choice if it will be your daily driver, or close to it. Make sure and get a car with the variable ratio steering and rear wheel steering.
Jags are not known for reliability.
The Cayman S is also great, but will not turn as many heads. I would only consider a 981 with the 3.4L flat-six and a 6-speed manual.
Drive both an LC500 and a Cayman S and get the one that you like the most.
Good luck.
@stevemoraga8850 Thanks, appreciate your response, after having an Audi for many years maintained and repairs can add up. The cars I mentioned just seemed realistically affordable and sensible for the price range for what you get (something that looks like it costs way more) yeah I feel you that the porche won't stand out as much. The Jag looks like a lot of fun to drive but if it's going to be riddled with issues, not good.....I guess the only thing that dettered me is Lexus just doesn't seem as popular, If I'm going to spend that much I want it to be something flashy. I'm in Australia and where I live there are maybe 2 LC500s in the whole city so it would stand out....I've never been a sheep so this being something unique and not as common might be the go, yes next stage is to test drive and keep researching and hopefully in several months I can afford one.....would def be getting my mechanic to safely disconnect the valves for the exhaust so I get the V8 sound at lower revs
home depot part was so funny
Solid review.
whats an acceptable mileage range on buying a used one? Toyota/Lexus are usually just getting broken in at 100K miles - but what about this model?
I have a 2014 LS 460 now but this is my next dream car
Never knew this existed. This could be a nice car to tour the country and hit some backroads.
all reviews tout about the noise,... what i noticed when i drove it, was that at 60 m/hr (100 km/hr) the car runs at 1050 rpm,... almost stationary
Dude you should review the LC500. Price went up after your review.
Is it faster and does it have better handling than my brand new 3.0 Supra that I spent the same amount for?
Is it correct there is no transmission cooler? Is it also correct that there are three timing chains?
*Spot on!*
Yes!!! A hundred times yes! Can’t gettum that low in Canada
The LC500 will be a modern classic.
Good video
Only the really bad examples are $60k. The 2018 suspension is stiff and awkward. 2019's with low miles are still $80k+
From personally owning one of the first examples, I can safely advise you are so, so wrong.

I thought so too but wait until you get insurance, the parts are very expensive if you get into an accident.
If it’s out of warranty, how good of a deal is it really? Repairs can be really pricey. I think for the average person wanting to step up, you need to consider CPO and extending the warranty.
I think im gonna go for it. it's only a matter of time until we can supercharge it. then its unknown territory for a supremely quality machine.

60,000 USD, I wish ! Here in Australia the cheapest ones are around 85,000 and many around the 97,000 USD mark 😏
I’m looking at buying one, I’m in Perth Australia, they are expensive here.
While there are other more exotic used car in this price range, V8 front engine normally aspirated RWD is appealing. While this is not the fastest or has the grip, Lexus builds very reliable vehicles.
Hands down LEXUS
anything else the same year as the LC would have some major issues pending soon
It's the Bol Bol of cars.🤣 Definitely should be in the starting lineup.
Beautiful car ❤
It's crazy how well these hold their value. 2018 is 6 model years ago and almost every other car on the planet is definitely below 50% of the new price, but not this thing. They were $100k MAX back in 2018 and the best you can hope for today is still $60k.
So only worth 60%...
Also 100 K back in 2018 is worth 150k today . Dollar depreciation.
Soecs sheet wise, it doesn’t make sense. Its one of those car you have to get in and drive and feel it in person.
New car price kinda out of reach but at $60k its a bargain. I love these Lexus and the unique flaws they having.
I have a GSF and wish it has the 10spd and exhaust from LC500
Problem with used is the infotainment has the terrible touchpad that you'll hate more every year. I look forward to the 22's and later coming down in the late 2020's. But I'm considering this over my eventual Boxster because those useless backseat can hold a dog or two just fine.
What do any of those cars have to do with this slow GT car?
Better basketball analogy is a good basketball player that never gets selected for the all star game
100% right
What are the claims on the reliability and its repair costs based?
Previous lexus history from decades of other cars. Of course this has shared parts perhaps a slightly shared engine as well. It's in the lexus dna
I'm hoping to buy one soon for a daily.
I’d go with the GTR it’s gonna appreciate way more
I love this car and considered it hard, but i ended up getting a amg gts. Obv it and the maintenance cost more as its a supercar but i just wish this had some more power. An F version of this car could’ve been the grail
I cross shopped the AMG GT, having owned 3 AMG’s before. But I only wanted a 2020 or newer AMG GT and it’s still at or over $100k - and with the costs of my previous AMG when crap goes wrong, I looked at the LC 500 - Found a 19 private sale, 18k on it - my daily is a Plaid, so not concerned that it isn’t blistering fast. It’s my favorite car for sure -

I’ll be buying a USED LC500 convertible in about 6-8 years. 👍👍👍
I would love to buy one.Lexus is my favorite car brand
People who are all about raw performance numbers will be better off choosing one of the other cars mentioned here. Having said that, the LC 500 is the only exotic (yes, it qualifies in my mind) that I would consider taking a multi-state week long roadtrip in. I would probably downsize the wheels to 18"-19" (if they fit over the brake calipers) to minimize the chance of damage on questionable roads, but other than that all you need is the usual pre-trip oil/filter change and inspection before hitting the open road. Even in the unlikely event something does go wrong you're far more likely to find a nearby Lexus (or Toyota, they can do most things to an LC 500) dealership in the middle of nowhere Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho etc vs an Audi, Jaguar, Porsche or even BMW dealership. In other words these things are built like tanks and will still be driving and performing showroom new in another decade...can you say the same about a Ferrari, Lambo or literally anything else in the same category?😉
Well if I was going to get a sports car that's the one I would get Gray's a good color white to good color the V-8 engine with a hardtop that's a good price to depending on the mileage
I'm trying to decide between a 2023 IS500 (Lexus certified used) with 1,000 miles on it for $60k or a 2018 LC500 with 30k for about the same price. The Car Care Nut raves about the LC500 but he isn't a fan of the IS500.
A solution to consider: pick up a lightly used IS-F if you can find it for 30k less than the IS500, and have 30k to spend on another fun, less practical car :) I did this. The LC500 is far less practical than the IS500 so pretty different options depending on your needs.

Will be timeless in the next 5-7 years once out of production it will be retainits value or maybe increase🤷. I have the gs-f just waiting for these to get in the 55k-48k range 2020-2022 I'm patient. I'm in California so i NEED to get my V8'$ now 2030 they will push for no sales of V8 here in CA. After the LC500 is in my garage no need for me to buy any other car's. I'll just daily my 1992 integra da9 unitl i can't drive a stick shift😂. Very one wants big power and have all these extra features. Cars in LC500 price range is indeed faster but i plan on putting miles on my vehicles Minimum 15k-20k a year this motor is already proven. So more Practical Dealer repairs makes more sense for MY SITUATION.
Where are they this price bc then I’m ready .. what’s up !😊
I NEVER see GT-Rs in the wild anymore. Definitely see the Lexus regularly. Not taking anything away from them. Amazing cars but the Nissan isn't common anymore.
GTRs aren’t on the road much because up until 2018 all previous years the ride quality is extremely harsh! Like so harsh you fell like the vehicle is broken, a very raw and rough driving experience even when driving the speed limit. The new models are significantly better, more or less similar ride quality to driving on typical coil overs which is still to harsh for some people.
@@known3617 they changed in 2017 to what you're describing.

2018 LC 500 selling for only 60k will have problems.
No it wont, it just depreciates really badly due to the new 2024 refresh coming out along with the fact that no one wants this car for the high price & low performance
I know someone with a. 2019 with 181k miles and zero issues. I own one with 84k miles and I got it for 47K. it came with folder full of maintenance records

60k in Canada gets you a base level Honda Pilot. So yeah. Buy!!!
I wish it wasn’t double the priced used here :(
Plus this car will retain its value very well because few have been manufactured and it will soon be discontinued. If you have the 60K and want a daily driver that is also a future collector it is a no-brainer.
