19:51 When I ran track in college, we did low(er) intensity plyos, then sprints, then intense plyos last. The jumpers would do a couple of short sprints before the jumps. But honestly, if you're not competing, it really doesn't matter.
Great video, audio sounds great too! If there is a concern for the wind in the future ( the fluffy thing that might've come with the wireless mic can help reduce wind noise even more if it's an issue). Otherwise keep coming with the content!
As someone who doesn't believe in dynamic correspondence, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the advantages that sled sprints pose as opposed to just repping out unweighted sprints.
There is a Strength ---- Velocity continuum line so to speak. Doing sled sprints (or the opposite: sprints behind a bike / "reverse band sprints") will just make you work different aspects of that continuum line
sled sprints are based. when i was having knee pain I would do supersets of sprinting and walking backwards until i couldnt sprint the same distance anymore. i used a 100lbs sandbag instead tho cause i just dont own a sled (sadly)
I’ve noticed since I’ve taken out a dynamic warm up and added a few mins of pogos and A skips my sprint sessions I’ve noticed a big improvement on the quality of the session
What about warming up for weightlifting do you like dynamic movements then? (everyone swears by shoulder CARS and things of that nature)or with a band or would you rather specific movement with lighter weight to warm up? Btw love the vids just subbed, wish I found your channel sooner.
What about Dynamic warmup for Sprinters? More plyos isn't required as they're focusing on being their fastest in the session right? I'm asking and not being rude fyi :)
Do you have any quick thoughts on sprinting on grass vs turf vs concrete (and any other random surfaces, like beach/sand)? As far as safety is concerned or injury risk on the first 3 mainly, and then maybe more on efficacy for the other possible surfaces.
What is your take on Mark Rippetoe’s claim that standing vertical jump is an untrainable genetic quality? That is, that the percentage of motor units you are able to recruit in a short instant of time cannot be improved, only absolute strength can be improved
Not all dynamic warmups are for the nervous though surely, I know in football a lot of our dynamic warmups like lunges for example were to loosen up and get blood into the joints
What if you do a dynamic warm up… but you do it with speed and competition? Next in San Antonio come to our performance facility! We will dynamic warm up your ass and you’ll love it 😆 solid video though keep up the good work ✅
I have some decreased strength and power of my knee after an ACL surgery from collegiate lacrosse. I still do sprints and play sports but I definitely tell I lack power in that leg. What single leg exercises would you recommend to develop strength and power?
Yo Will, I was curious if I could get ur take on a question I’ve had for a little while now abt hypertrophy. I’m a competitive wushu athlete(performance based martial art. Compete with forms. No contact), and lately I’ve been second guessing if auxiliary hypertrophy work on top of power, max strength work is necessary-in the current climate of my sport, bc of the subjective nature of judging, there’s a trade-off to being perceived as “too jacked,” and it sorta feels like junk volume when I could just do more speed and strength work(assuming I’m still making consistent progress) Once a non-contact athlete has a baseline of hypertrophy, strength, tolerance to volume etc., do u believe it’s necessary to continue programming hypertrophy for any reason other than the occasional variation or to break strength plateaus?
6:30 seriously playing semi professional basketball and trying to go overseas. I can’t tell how many garbage coaches I’ve come across that waste so much time with their BS rah rah look at me Look at me warm up dynamic stretching bs
You do realize that calling something "cucking" or "fake" means absolutely nothing, right? Is there a video/podcast/article of yours where I could actually understand what you mean? Because the issue with time allocation is one that has bothered me for a long time, and I would personally love to be able to make more constructive use of my lifting time. But calling something "cucking" serves no other purpose than to suggest (and only that) that you vote for Trump and probably think that "sex" and "gender" are the exact same thing. But I'm not interested in that, am I? I'm interested in reducing my time warming-up and making my lifting-time more efficient. You're obviously a good coach as well as lifter. Where can I actually engage with your views on either subject? P.S. I understand that my tone is somewhat argumentative, but hey, let's not be soft now. Thank you.
Holy shit in my late 20s and i just realized that i didnt sprint in a decade
I Knew Exactly What Was Coming When You Said “The Thing About Dynamic Warm Ups” In That Tone 🤣
bro just casually has a soccer complex with a perfect surface right by his house

In awe at the size of this lad, absolute unit
Very Insightful content as always, have learnt a lot from you to help improve as a Rugby player
Just did a 6×60 today. Great timing Will.
Seriously pumped to start this type of training. You have me excited for my first dunk at 42!

Will drop an Arm day
Will do 👊
Love it, keep it up
Would love to hear your take on hill sprints

Sled sprints can mimic acceleration but they can’t be compared to max velocity sprinting.

Nice Video Man 😊
Guess I’ll stop doing my M-Friday curl complex for some sprints

You just get after it with no fluff

I addressed that in the video
What are your thoughts on swimming for non-swimmer athletes?
Will do you have a shoe recommendation for sprinting?
Lapel mic is a great purchase
What’s your current training split will?

Any thoughts on sprints

Single leg bosu ball squat with a 405 barbell on your back

Do you have an opinion on triphasic training?
Good ass content
What brand of mic is that?
Rode
damn that's a nice field for little kids
Very nice
damn, just watching him run these sprints wore me out. goddamn.
Lol
Quality 👍

I have Ebooks for sale.
There is no reason to put quotations around the words sex and gender.
Feel free to message me on IG.
There’s only two genders
You are a fountain of wisdom. 🫡🫡
