I was there at this exact performance!! I was a little disappointed that the dragon didn’t spit out the fire but I was still so excited and happy that it returned while I was visiting the park

The dragon has unfortunately caught fire tonight, Disneyland Fire Dept. and Anaheim Fire & Rescue put out a 2 alarm fire involving maleficent’s dragon and part of Tom sawyer’s island.
So exciting to see all the changes, the visuals are very impressive. I will miss the classic version too. It was less flashy but it was a masterful display of storytelling.
I love Johnny depp and I love the pirates film, but I still wish Peter Pan was still in this show because it would make sense with the rest of the characters in the show. Pirates just seemed like an odd one out from all the cartoon characters in the show. Also this has nothing to do with the depp trial I like the scene don’t get me wrong but Peter Pan would is superior imo

This video was filmed 9 months before the Murphy animatronic fire incident back in April 2023. No one was harmed but the fire did get under the stage so cast members and performers had to leave that area of the stage. Apparently the lighting liquid used to create the fire coming from Murphy’s mouth leaked and caused the animatronic to burst into flames. This isn’t the first time the fire breathing effect has gone wrong. It happened in Disney World during a performance of the Festival of Fantasy parade.
So did they shut Fantasmic down or replace the dragon (possibly with that cheap kind they use at Disney World, where it looks like a duo's Halloween costume)?

I’m an Orlando local but I did see your guys’ version several years ago too. We don’t know which changes WDW’s Fant will have when it reopens, but the changes to elements that are shared on both coasts make me nervous… The re-recording of the singing with more ‘pop’ style voices really sucks. And I really hate losing out on Snow White (and that BITCHIN soulful ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’) for Tangled in the Princess section. Way too sedate lol. I’m curious to see what our Pocahontas bit will be replaced by since we don’t have the pirate ship at all. I’m all for updated projections/fountains but messing with the 90s feel is kind of like messing with the heart of the show. At least the main theme music/opening and closing are mostly unchanged.

I saw this yesterday at live and would recommend this more than Adventure California water and light show. Has more theme and story and amazing action with fireworks beautiful combination show. I watched the Orlando after watching on Utube I would say Disneyland is far better that's my opinion because the boats are amazing and actions of Caribbean is amazing stunts work and has better fireworks and water show.
Just spent the evening watching Fantastic in Disneyland - have to watch the video because the place was packed like sardines and with parents lifting their kids we could hardly see a darn thing.
I really wish that Ariel wasn’t a mermaid because it would be easier for her to get on and off the boat at the end. Also I prefer Rapunzel at the end of the Princess segment over Snow White in the Disneyland version because if all the lifts in Rapunzel and Flynn’s choreography. As a dancer myself who has never done any partner work in the past 8 years, The lifts in their choreography are shoulder lifts and they take a lot of practice and strength to do them. Exposing the way lifts work is that the person going off the ground (usually a girl) pushes off the ground and goes into the air. To me it looks like they had years of practice and experience working on lifts because they were flawless. Just me giving my opinion.
👍 nice job on the video i really enjoyed it. I been waiting for fantasmic to come back since it was my favorite but most of all is seeing the mark Twain steamboat again with the Disney characters that’s the best part of the finale. My favorite character is Mary Poppins.

They put Pirates in because at the time, Chapek was in charge of the parks, and he wanted to push something more modern.

@nickh2072 Last I checked Fantasmic is non operational. I suspect if the show does return Murphy would appear through projections.

Of all the nighttime spectacular shows I feel they really put lots of TLC on Fantasmic then they did on world of color or Disneyland Forever.

unfortunately the projections and fountains are all the same, EXCEPT for that new hero sequence. it's just new lighting.

she was not breathing fire cause of the winds. remember they canceled fireworks that night and the next night as well.
