I've seen a couple pro racers racing the klx 300r and the bike is the monster energy pro circuit and they handle sweet and they climbing hills no problem.
I just bought the 2024 KLX300. I don't know much about track riding but this bike is amazing. I took it through some mud about 1 foot deep if not deeper. She just ate it like breakfast. I'll be taking it back up there after I do my oil change
You are a good rider and you showed us the capabilities of the KLX300 D/S. I just bought a 2025 KLX300 D/S so I'm back on a dual/sport and/or dirt bike after 40+ years and at 64 I'm loving it!!!!
Great video! It was interesting to see the KLX300 on the track. Of course, not a mx bike but you had fun nonetheless. You showed us something no others have on KLX300 reviews. You gained a subscriber.
Sweet .. so cool a bike can have a little fun on jumps and do as good as it does on trails and you can ride it on the street with pure reliability. I have a 250 carbureted one and I love it, and that is comparing it to my 2019 KTM 250 exc-f which I sold and my DRZ400
Pretty good work with that dual sport on the MX track. That Sandy track appears to be nice and moist which to me is perfect conditions. Once that sand is dry and powdery it makes it a bit harder to get traction from the rear and grip around corners.
Surprised by the KLX300S. Nice video. Advice for you if I may be so bold: Never wear a backpack with a hard object in it. Better get a tail bag or panniers. Told my cousin that for years and one day he took a high-side and landed on his camera shattering two vertebrae in his back (t3 t4). God managed to protect his spine though and he healed back to normal but not without some worrying weeks in hospital. It was close. ...so buy some luggage mate. Not worth the risk.
You must have a lot of motocross experience to ride like that. There’s a big hill near me with like a 15ft table top and it was a bit scary to clear it for me. Lol
seems to do a good job on the track , for a heavy ish trail bike , testers say the kawi has better suspension than the honda 300l.. people might want to note that if jumps are your thing.. you did a good job showing those jumps = i did not think that a trail bike with all the bits still on could be that good..
This is ultimately the type of video I want to see on the KLX because all of us are wondering what its limits are. I mean watching a review is nice and all but if the rider doing the review isn't pushing the bikes limits then you really can't get a good idea of what you are buying. I want to know what the bike I am buying is capable of and videos like this do that. Thumbs up from me
Thanks for sharing this video. Good to see how well the KLX handles those jumps and turns. And in stock tires. Impressive indeed. How does the bike handle on the road in regards to vibration, and gear spacing ?
You are dope my man thanks for the video. I want to be able to hit the track and on road when necessary this helps a lot. I’m stuck between the KLX300 dual sport model, Kayo kt250 2 stroke, and crf150r (I’m 245 lbs so maybe not a good idea) I’m thinking of going towards the KLX300
Idk why soo many ppl put down the klx300 when it comes to doing mods n wanting more power I also don't get why ppl are soo blown away by it being able to go around a track and hit some jumps , while no the bike is not intended to be a race machine and land 50 foot jumps its still a fucking dirt bike like are yall thar dumb ? The bike still carries its motocross chassis with a fully adjustable and rebuildable rear shock ...wow like other mx bikes ...the only Part that it slacks a lil is the front springs otherwise thus bike could do it all just not land a 50 foot jump like I said but this bike is very cable of being a low stress engine track machine and totally can have fun , Larry roseler used to actually race his klx300r on a track and woop motocross bikes asses multiple times so I don't understand why this bike gets shit on for trying to do things its not directly marked for . Was it honda ever mean to be the first fwd car to hit 200mph no...was it ever meant to be a drag or track car...no so like stfu 😂 I've read soo many forums on ppl wanting to get more out of it n ppl reply back just trashing them do whatever you want with your klx especially if it's only costing you your time and some money do it this bike has alot of potential
Bro, you clearly have skills but invest in some protective gear before mods. I have the same bike so I know the feeling of wanting to mod it out but priorities lol. Years ago I broke my talus (weight bearing ankle bone) while surfing cuz I landed all of my weight on a sandbar with my leg locked at the knee. I can imagine a bad fall on the bike could do the same or worse. I was in a cast and boot for 4 months, had 2 surgeries and 2 months of physical therapy after that and it's still not the same. You're young! Protect yourself now so you don't have issues later on.
Whew! That was awesome! You've got yourself a new sub! I have a KLX230, a slightly lighter bike than yours, I'm very curious about its track ability. Today, if weather allows, I want to try mine on a track too. But I don't know about jumping ... seems kind of a long way down.
@@Cd55650 Thanks for asking, LCC. Well, I ended up joining a local motorclub here south of Stockholm. Got myself a statewide training & competition license, and a pair of good boots with some body protection. At first I used my KLX230 on the mx-track, but this was pretty hard on the suspension. So, I later bought a KTM EXCF 350 which I use today exclusively for off-roading, mostly enduro on their forest track just beside the mx-track. My motoring has evolved, something which has helpled me alot regarding handling my motorcycle on road in general.
Yo that's 300 pounds in the air bro lol I feel like this would be good training for freestyle motocross cause once u switch u'll probably fly with a light ass mx bike lol awesome training
Nice thrash. Only a matter of time until you realize shoulda been wearing proper foot wear. 3T larger rear sprocket ~ 1T down in front. More chain clearance on swing arm and less wear on the chain. The proof is out there...
My mod: 14/47 for trails (10% reduction) - 13/47 for tight woods (17% reduction) - 15/47 for highway (near stock 4% reduction). You can do it all with one chain size.
Do you carry extra gas when you go to the track? I heard the tank is only 2 gallons and there is no gas station at my local track. or do you just carry a backpack with a container of gas?
How would that ride if you put Factory Connection Suspension on for mx? Would I be super disappointed coming from yz250 to that bike? I like being able to take the road to all the other trails though.
What do you have your suspension set at? I’m 180 but almost don’t want to fool with them because they are soft for the road but I do jump it often and trail ride with creeks thrown in. Mine gained low end power when I put a 14’’delkovic pipe on it also.
It didn’t even cross my mind until I was editing but I probably will mess with it sooner or later, it does just fine how it is for me for the most part though.
Of course you need to adjust the suspension. Stop being afraid of it and adjust the rear - Preload, compression and rebound plus the front fork compression. It is your bike know how to tune it to perfection for you.
Sam can you tell us more about what this gearing change does? The 13 tooth means higher gearing but the 45 means lower gearing correct? So do theses changes off-set the stock gearing? Whats the advantage? Any info is appreciated!
@@pdbordelon they both make it lower because the first number is the engine side, second number is on the wheel. The bigger the difference between the two, the lower the gearing. There are some great TH-cam videos about this.
@@pdbordelon 45/13 = 3.46 vs 42/14 = 3 So it is not higher/lower gearing as you suggest it is just extreme low gearing. Lower the front sprocket 1 tooth is like adding 3 teeth on the rear sprocket. Doing both winds the engine out @ 50 or so but I never hit that speed on sand trails.
It all seems so pathetic 🙄 I'll try one and see for myself I'd be looking for a long lasting street legal version of the kx 250f .. this bike ( the 300 ) seems to under perform
Wow! I did not expect the KLX300 to be this capable! Definitely, getting a 2024 one when it becomes available.
I got one and it’s the most fun I’ve had on two wheels so far
I've seen a couple pro racers racing the klx 300r and the bike is the monster energy pro circuit and they handle sweet and they climbing hills no problem.

Nice ride! Impressed that the KLX could do this. For a dual-purpose bike, that's sweet!
Wow ,wow ,wow there some pretty wide high jumps with super soft touch downs! I freeze frame the video at minute 9.23 ,crazy high with the KLX!
Thanks for showing what its like on the track. Kind of sold me on one

Nice riding, just got mine today crashed in the mud lol left side. No plastic broken shifter and clutch lever bent but fixed it up quick .
20 years ago when I had my '01 YZ426F it was 257 wet. Not tooooo far off really!

I wore a backpack for years and never thought about what could happen. Wil never do that again. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty sick for a dual sport. Suspension must be decent.

A very honest review of this machine!
vim ver essa moto "Lançamento" no Brasil, se ela aguentará o tranco, tal como as CRF's 250f aguenta. sinceramente, espero que sim.
Genuinley impressed!
Frickin awesome! I can't wait to get mine!
I just ordered a 2024 and now I really want to find a motocross track and give it a try!

Really shows it's going to be fine on the large stuff. Wonder what it would be like in a rock field or log crossings, etc.?
Hey down siding a jump is the smoothest way to land a jump. Case it and see what happens.
That was rad 🤙🏽
Great footage! Scary not wearing boots and riding like that though!

Fantastic! Im so impressed with this bike! Thanks!
Surprised the stock forks and stock foot pegs handled that.
Thanks for the show. Looks like KLX is more capable than the Honda CRF 300 as far as suspension? Cheers
Klx 300 comes with fully adjustable suspension and much stiffer by default. Honda is non-adjustable and very soft.
Those 605s aren't fantastic tires, but that was better than I'd have expected from them. Cool vid, dude.
Can I take my 2021 klx300sm with stock tires and give it a try🧐
Cannot believe you are doing this without wearing motocross boots. You're nuts!
What tires were you running on the track?
Great video...but no whoops?!?!?
Awesome!
How would that ride if you put Factory Connection Suspension on for mx? Would I be super disappointed coming from yz250 to that bike? I like being able to take the road to all the other trails though.
It’s definitely more sluggish than a yz250 that’s for sure!
The klx 300 r comes with motocross tiers
That’s the dual sport that is street legal
Nice jumping and turning! How much do you weigh? How fast were you going on those jumps?
Thank you I’m 180 and was going somewhere around 30 mph I believe
Thanks Nolan! You’re making it look easy! I’m looking forward to practicing track basics at at my local OHV Park. Keep putting out great videos!
Damn wish they where available in Australia
Where is this?
I wish I had a track near me, wtf midcoast maine....

it your bike stock
I believe it was in this video
Cool great info video. Thank you.
