      @sergiobisonte . He makes his income flipping cars.
      That means he cares more about the net profit margins than how excited you are to watch.
      This man's generous enough to educate you on his business, why not take notes?

    For the vehicles that will not start you can order from My Copart a vehicle condition report. They do a walk around and show vehicles if they Start and Run and drive also give you a detailed report on the Vehicle damage not shown. I order them on Vehicles that I am going to bid on. Also on Insurance vehicles your can download the cost estimates of repairs for free from Copart's web site. I do not know if Copart offers this at all locations. Helps me a great deal if I am trying to decide to go and take a look in person. About the cost of the trip there and back and lunch for the vehicle condition report.

    I've lived in Shawnee, Ok about 35-40 miles east of OKC for 17 almost 18 years and been lucky so far and have no hail damage to any of my cars and no I do not park them under anything or in any garages, All out in the open.

      Some severe hail damage sometimes here in northern south Florida, but none of the hailstorms my cars have been in have been enough to dent them. Some car dealers here have had most cars in their lots with shattered windows and obvious hail dents...

    really safe cars and easy to drive

    The Escalade battery is still under the hood. Passenger side by the firewall. You can see the cables. The new location surprised me when I bought my GMC also. They left the original battery location as well. I have always wondered how hard it would be to add a second battery. I assumed they moved them so they wouldn't get damaged as quickly in an accident. But purely speculating on my part.

    • @ReadyRock215

    That is a secondary/extra battery tray at 14:54 as a carryover from a shared GM design, main battery is on the right near the firewall. Tornado car, easier to total out for the insurance companies with visible external damage and who know mechanical from possibly being tossed around. The wing window at 19:11 is the most expensive window. I say go for it.

    Battery is on the upper right next to the firewall. The left front fender just shifted from the impact. A very light impact if I may add. I'm sure the owner just didn't want that Escalade repaired. I had my Honda crv hit in the rear and it was repairable. I told the I did not want it back. So they marked up the parts to all oem. And then it was totaled.

  • @southjerseysound7340

    The Escalade has what is called a ladder wracked frame. It's where the frame is no longer square and needs to be replaced.

    • @cubedmack
      @cubedmack 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      SouthJerseySound Yeah, the frame is probably bent.

    • @southjerseysound7340
      @southjerseysound7340 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cubedmack my partner looked at it and to the naked eye it looks good. But it took a square hit on the one rail and the frame is out of square. It's worse than just bent. Basically imagine a ladder and then a out of square ladder where the rungs are crooked.

  • @bradyfox6777
    @bradyfox6777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    On the Escalade the reason their wasn’t a battery in the front battery box was because that whole engine bay assembly is the same for all of the full size gm trucks and suvs so that is where the second battery would go on the diesel trucks. The battery location on any gm truck or suv that isn’t a diesel is behind the air box on the passenger side

  • @deplorabledave1048
    @deplorabledave1048 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 2005 M3. There is an enormous aftermarket for this car. Not as big as Mustangs but damn near.
    There is a video or a do-it-yourself that you can print out and color for almost every job on this car. working on these cars is actually extremely easy. Even some of the special tools available for search cheap from overseas manufacturers. The fan clutch remover is $17 now. Mine works great. They have bushing pullers for $40 or less.
    My RTAB puller actually came from Turkey. It's awesome. This model of car is scattered all over the entire globe.
    Be careful there was some changes in body parts after manufacture date 2001 September.
    Like I said just find real OEM. Enter all your dates or even your VIN number and you will get the correct part numbers.
    I think your VIN number will tell you the month of manufacture. I know mine was made in May 2005.
    My car is full of Chinese parts. I mean little things like gas struts for the hood and trunk.... turn signal lenses, side view mirrors. DIRT CHEAP!
    If you want the OEM turn signal lenses for 60% of the BMW price buy anything made by Magneti Marelli. SAME part except no BMW on the box.
    If you are hell-bent on using everything OEM then find out what the manufacturers are and suppliers are for each part. And then buy it from them, NOT from BMW!!!! This only works for some parts.
    Body parts and most def that front bumper, you will have to get used. I think that bumper is made of a Kevlar weave.
    You can price everything out ahead of time to know what you're getting into.
    So much more. And if you need OEM, the used Market is off the hook. They are so many used parts available for these aging cars, it's not funny.
    I needed new subframe bushings. Instead of buying new bushings I just bought a whole used subframe with recently installed bushings. Now my work is cut in half.
    Pressing new bushings in properly is a real bitch. And this guy did an excellent job. He did mention how much of a pain in the ass it was to get them perfect. Everything was as advertised, and was dirt cheap.
    Go to real oem.com. Enter in the year and month of your build and get each part number. Google that part number and buy from Amazon or eBay.
    For important stuff that goes on the engine you can get the same INA pulleys for $35 instead of $135. The only difference is it does not come in a BMW box. It's the exact same item.
    My thermostat is actually American made for $25 instead of BMW version for $90.
    Buy German Parts when you can and when you can't go on the forums and ask if such a such a part is any good.
    Aftermarket radiators are take your pick. So plentiful you might actually want to go on the M3fourm and find out what is the best value.
    You can even start a thread saying, "hey man I bought this car on Copart...." take a few photos and say "I need these parts. what's the cheapest and best way to put this car back together."
    You're going to get hundreds of accurate ideas and replies.
    Just Ignore the diehards with more money than brains that insist that ONLY OEM BMW parts will do. That may be the case for a few items.
    But read all the replies and use your own judgment.
    You have a ton of options for your front bumper cover. If you're going to go aftermarket find out which ones fit the best. New or used OEM is the way I would go.
    Any cracks on a used bumper cover on the bottom don't sweat it. You'll never see it. Just make sure all the tabs are intact. They tend to snap off and cause fitment problems for things like the front grill.
    Some things you will just have to get OEM. I think the front grill is one of them. But you can find them heavily discounted online. Just do as I say and find the OEM part number and Google it and you'll get a lot of hits.
    If it's not on eBay or Amazon I buy from ECS, FCP Euro, and Turner Motorsports.
    Before you buy take the VIN number and go to any BMW dealer and see the service history. You're definitely going to want to see a VANOS service, and possibly a rear subframe reinforcement service in there.
    Only problem is a lot of people get that done from a BMW mechanic that knows what they're doing like I did.
    If the VANOS is quiet and there's no ticking from it, then you may not have to worry about it.
    Kind of a crapshoot on the VANOS. Just to have mine disassembled and all the bolts on the chain gears replaced ( with upgraded, hardened bolts and red Loctite) and the top chain guide replaced was nine hundred bucks.
    The ears on my exhaust hub were fine.

    The Honda Fit could be a sound buy for the right money. The body damage is light enough that most people wouldn't even bother with it on what's likely to be a city car. The Civic I wouldn't bother with, it'll probably get bid up past where there's any hope of making money on it. The M3 is a tough one, it looks like a well cared for car, and it is a manual in Avus blue which is always a good spec, but finding listings for M3 parts is one thing, the parts actually existing is something else and if you end up having to source new parts, even if they're non-genuine, you're probably going to spend far more than the car's worth. It also looks to me like the damage extends much further under the car than your inspection suggested and getting into major suspension components and stuff like that very quickly gets stupidly expensive as these share pretty much nothing with the standard 3-Series. It's probably one to buy on the basis of breaking it for parts and repair it IF it turns out the damage isn't too bad and the parts are guaranteed available for a sensible price...

    The Cadillac has the battery by the firewall on the pass side. The 2nd tray is for aux batteries and for diesels gm uses the same shit for everything.
    You check honda transmission fluid when the vehicle is off not running.
