  • I'm a dermatologist and this new hair loss treatment is the BEST treatment we have EVER had in my opinion. It's still early in the process, but early clinical trials and systematic reviews are showing that oral minoxidil can be incredibly effective when it comes to treating multiple different types of hair loss. If you're someone wondering:
    - What's the best treatment for male pattern hair loss?
    - What's the best treatment for female pattern hair loss?
    - What's the best treatment for hair shedding?
    - Does oral minoxidil work as a hair loss treatment?
This video is going to answer ALL of your questions. In it, I'm going to discuss what minoxidil is, why oral minoxidil is better than topical minoxidil (e.g. Rogaine, Regaine), show you some before and after oral minoxidil photos, discuss what the side effects are of oral minoxidil, tell you who should and shouldn't be using oral minoxidil, and tell you how to get your hands on oral minoxidil.

But they can't get a prescription from the A I - the crux of the issue is that MOST doctors will not prescribe the best because they want the extra co-payments. Wasting thr patients time for money.

I'm 59 and have been taking 2.5mg of oral minoxidil, and the same dosage of finasteride (one pill) via my dermatologist for about a year now. I had a hair transplant about a decade ago as I was really beginning to thin. I also derma roll every other week. Fast forward to yesterday and I was on a Zoom call with a buddy of 30 years and he says to me, as he's stroking the only strand of hair left on the top of his head, "Man, how do you keep your full head of hair?" I told him, "it takes persistence, consistency, and oral minoxidil/finasteride--in the pill form.

great video, thanks for sharing! 2 questions maybe you can talk about: 1.] efficacy of sublingual vs oral (literally at 16 weeks of one year of 2.5mg minoxidil tab - but i have been putting it under my tongue till completely absorbed with out swallowing, also doing same with 1mg finasteride tab - avg about 15mins a tab). 2.] Caffeine as a dht blocker; been stacking that with the tabs for 14 weeks. the pure caffeine is mixed with purified water at 5mg/100ml (or 0.05mg/ml for daily use). very easy and extremely cheap to do yourself. the research (nih, etc.) i have read says it is highly absorbed directly at the follicle and is a substantial dht blocker with no noticeable systemic effects. been caffeine free for a couple of decades and have had no systemic effects. (aware there are shampoos but don't shampoo every day and doing topical is a quick couple of minutes once a day).

Soap and Coconut oil. Just saved your skin from ageing faster using high street cosmetic temporary chemicals that are designed for you to need more of their product by drying out the skin over time.
      Everything cosmetic has consequences
Shampoo = scalp & hair follicle damage
      Whiteneing toothpaste = erodes enamel
moisturizer/soaps = actually is designed to dry skin, so you need you next purchase faster or their other "skin repair" products later

      @ygorperez 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@softbee8265 I don't know if such a product exists on the market. I get it from a compounding pharmacy for pretty cheap where I live (Brazil).
If you are interested in doing that, this is the formula I developed based on my research:
      - 20% glycerin
      - 10% oleic acid
      - 10% ethanol
      - 10% castor oil
      - 10% rosemary oil
      - 5% minoxidil
      - 5% aloe vera
      - 2% ketoconazole
      - 0.75% adenosine
      - 0.5% dutasteride
      - 0.1% tretinoin
      - 0.1% saw palmetto
      - Rest of water (26.55%)
Not all of these are necessary, but they will help with androgenetic alopecia even further, especially dutasteride, based on the most up to date research the amount of it that goes systemic isn't enough to get you any side effects, and it still works.
I have confirmed this evidence anecdotally too on my brother that gets ed on finasteride and dutasteride orally, but not from this formulation.

Perhaps tret could work this way, but I think tret combines with minox to make something else that's more potent. At first glance, using tret and oral minox would not do anything. But derma rolling plus oral minox sounds interesting.

    • @hotdogint
      @hotdogint 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@softbee8265 I believe its possible but rare to find both together. I haven't used such a product. Tret is usually by prescription, but retinol (a step behind in the conversion process) can be used.
I've used Kirkland liquid minox and cerave retinol light blue. Currently using Davv Hair Serum foam minox and a generic amazon retinol serum.
Foam is more water based and can take the shape of a beard away after blowing drying. So I have to do a touch up blow dry for 30 seconds to reshape my longer beard (not ideal but FYI).
Apply tret/retinol first then minox. Apply half the amount of minox as the suggested amount is for the entire head. The head surface is much greater than the beard area. I apply it morning, night, morning then skip night. The skip I do the derma rolling and apply retinol only.

    Dear Doctor,
I have been diagnosed with FPHL grade 2 and I have been on oral finasteride 2.5mg (for 1 year) and oral Minoxidil (started with 0.0625 for 2 weeks, 1.25 for 2 weeks and 2.5mg for 9.5 months). I have seen increased hair shedding for about 8 months, and it continues. (At the same time as I started full dose Minoxidil ie. 2.5mg, I got A cell PRP also done). Will the hair shedding EVER reduce or stop? Will increasing or reducing the dose of Minodixil help to reduce hair shedding? Is the hair shedding seen with Minodixil use proportional to the dose? So far I have had no side effects from Minodixil with 2.5mg for 9 months.
Actually, my hair fell out with the bulbs and clogged the drain. Even before I started the treatment it used to come out in clumps. I read that if the hair come out in clumps it cannot be andogenetic alopecia or FPHL. When I asked my doctor he said that it could also have a component of Telogen Effluvium. Pls, advice what should I do?

The reason for asking is because many years ago when I started to get paranoid because I noticed my hairline was slightly getting thinner, I looked into the topical minoxidil but many said that if it worked, it would only be generally around the crown. I personally would wait for oral minoxidil to be approved by the FDA for hair loss first, maybe even for over the counter use like topical minoxidil (so researchers need to get moving on official clinical studies to get FDA approval). Though, both have the unfortunate but common requirement that you have to keep taking the medication as maintenance. This is an unfortunate reality for many medications, like anti-depressants (which I take). In an ideal world, a treatment would be able to cure an ailment or alleviate the ailment for a significantly long period of time after the course of treatment is complete, but we don't have that ideal (at least not in the present day, who knows about the future), and many treatments merely control an ailment and require continuing treatment for maintenance.
As a male bodied person who would really like to have less hair on my body (I have way too much, but shaving is too short term and uncomfortable, and waxing is too expensive and painful especially for only 3 to 6 weeks), I would be nervous about that increased body and facial hair growth side effect.
I personally avoid laser hair removal and electrolysis as options due to their cost and their permanence (I know laser is not permanent hair removal, just permanent hair reduction), because as someone who is gender fluid I never know if, when, or where I may or may not want to regrow hair, and I have always had an aversion to things that are permanent and irreversible (now if only dermatologists could invent a hair removal method that is permanent, or semi-permanent, or very long lasting, but also reversible, cheap, quick, available for home self-use, and painless or nearly painless, that would be great). I wonder if oral minoxidil would be helpful to reverse permanent or semi-permanent hair removal methods for those who have regret or simply want to regrow hair they have removed before.

I wouldn't trust anything the FDA does or says. It supports Big Pharma. Dangerous opiate drugs like Oxycontin and Fentanyl have been approved by the FDA, but those drugs have also been responsible for thousands of deaths. Meanwhile, the FDA has been trying to ban Kratom, a natural, safe herb that people use to come off of dangerous opiates. Just because something is approved by the FDA doesn't mean it's safe.
