Hey JJ, I wanna get into gospel solo piano artists, what are your favourites / recommendations? Thanks man, much love! (And if you have any of your own improves up anywhere I'd love to get my hands on em)
CHECK OUT Jason Tyson, Kevin Bond(considered father of modern gospel playing), Aaron Lindsay, Jason White, Cory Henry, Eddie James, the list goes on, hope this helps
In my opinion it often sounds the best, when there is a scale note a whole tone down from the melody note and when there is no rub between the grace note and the underlying chord. So in a major key, the best sounding (diatonic!) grace notes are from 2nd degree to the 3th, 5th to the 6th and 6th to the 7th regardless of the chord you are on. The same notes apply to the relative minor key, and maybe some chromatic chords. Of course there are other good sounding ones, but these will get you started!
This is amazing, but you didn’t really wanna teach. You flew by the good stuff. Either you didn’t wanna teach it, or didn’t wanna spend the time. However, the information is great so I thank you for it!

Hi, when do u know to play the gracenotes om the chords?

Like the sound of these chords. What does the note after the forward slash mean…like in D / F#?
That’s the note the d chord is over. So a d chord over F the lowest note
Sounds great.. Good job man..
So, all your saying is that i JUST have to not be lazy and just study chords all over again. See you in a year!
just saw this vid n suscribe amazing
Jj man this is so cool
Awesome
The second highest note dropped an octave down? I did not understand your example? What do you mean? If the chord is C…CEG you had ccfgc or something?
U got me thinking hard about the patreon 🤔 would this be explained in depth on oatreon
thanks......love you
Exactly what did you do at 5:22 ?
What scale(s) did you modulate to?
