So here's what I understood from the video: All of the sins were once human then something bad happened to them and made them become the sins they are. In this video it explained how Modeus became the sin "Lust". So when Modeus was still human he was already kinda playing with people's hearts. But not as much as he does now. My theory is that the girl at 2:02 is what happened to him and broke him. I thinkt hat Modeus toyed with her enough to set her over the edge and fall apart. He couldn't bare to see it and something in him just clicked. He was a player. And seeing her suffer so much because of him was the thing that broke Modeus' heart and made him a sin. "Lust" From the scene at 0:28 it showed how Modeus wanted to feel love again because it felt like not being able to love again left his heart broken. Levi fell for him and proof of that is in Mushie's "Your Text" animatic. Levi tried to convince himself so much that Modeus was still capable of loving but it wasnt true. Modeus represented "Lust" one of the seven deadly sins. And everything that lust is *isn't love.* And so Levi felt heartbreak because of it. The reason Modeus says "You all had it easy" near the end (at 3:15) was because he imagined that the heartbreak he felt was nothing compared to the ones that made the other sins the way they are. And so he felt as if he was the most broken. He wasn't wrong for feeling that way because love is a powerful thing. It does things to your heart. And not being able to feel it would feel *painful.* Again, this was only what I got from the video so I might have missed some things. I love Mushie's OCs so much and understanding them is always something intriguing. I think that this video was amazing, keep up all the amazing animatics Mushie. Love ya ❤

I think he had his own heart broken and sorta,,, reverted to Lust to protect himself. I think he understands what he is doing however. Everything he does is too well calculated. You even see it in the first video. He knows how to play with Levi's emotions.

I actually really like this song. It seems to flow with the animatic, and even the animatic looks more like an animation because of all the extra motion you put in. It’s beautiful, it’s fluid and has story line that can be seen. You are really talented!

All the sins are broken, something in their hearts were destroyed. For Modeus is seems to be the ability to love. And all Levi wants is *for Modeus to love him.* Even though its *impossible* for him to.

Ok here’s what I have gathered from this video, I’m absolutely terrible at making theories only using videos so this could be a stretch but, it seems like out of all the sins Modeus’ life when he was human was the worst. We know they were human before becoming their sin because of the video before this one. Modeus also mentions at the end of the video that the others had it easy, considering it’s past tense it could be referring to his life as a human. Now the real question is, why does he do the things that he does and why does he hate pretty much everyone but Momman? The answer is actually pretty simple if you look at it in a certain way. What I gathered is that Modeus most likely has trust issues, he died/became his sin while burning. Modeus is lust, so I’ll go out on a limb and say that he was most likely betrayed by his lover. I see the way he acts as more of a defense mechanism more than him just being a villain. He thinks that if he hurts those around him or if he plays with their feelings then he is in control, and he decides his and the others fate. He hates them because they had it easy and because if he hates them then he’ll be less likely to be hurt. Now to Momman, why does Modeus find Momman useful? I think it’s simple, Modeus probably knows that Momman likes Levi, the dude is lust after all. Modeus probably got Momman to tell him the same way he got Levi to tell him that he liked him in the Your Text animatic. Since he figured out about Momman’s crush he decided to use it to his advantage, to either toy with both Levi and Momman’s feelings or to get Momman to trust him by saying that he’ll help him, which explains why Momman also finds Modeus useful, to ultimately break Momman feelings once he finds out that Levi likes Modeus. Wow ok that was a lot, and it’s probably not even close to being right but I think I understand Modeus a little more now even if it’s incorrect EDIT: Ok so I just read the quotes that They put on their tumblr! I got a little bit more of an understanding on Modeus! So the fact that he pretty much hates them due to them having it easy is pretty much correct. Also he had to suffer the pain for 40 years, he is 21 but has been alive for 94 years btw. Also if you scroll further down than you find out that Modeus is probably the least knowledgeable of the subject, he doesn’t want to learn about it either. Back to the age thing though, if Modeus died at the age of 21 and he had suffered for 40 years then I’m guessing when we see him burning he’s most likely being tortured, if of course hell works like that in the story, it’ll make sense to! Modeus was most likely tortured for 40 years until finally becoming lust from then till now. He probably along the way realized that the others weren’t as badly or didn’t even get tortured. Also here’s a weird source that I figured using, the quiz actually gave me a lot of info on Modeus. He may be incredibly self loathing and I’m guessing if he can’t get into someone’s pants it adds to his feelings of self hatred, because of this he pushes others away and like I said he thinks if he keeps them away he’ll be in control. If he hurts someone he will act like it doesn’t affect him.
I don't think the girl in the flashback is actually Modeus's girlfriend or anything like that. I think it's their past self. Looking at 2:20, their eyes suddenly flash purple while they try and cover themselves up as a fire slowly grows. Mushi said Modeus had arguably one of that saddest backstories, and I think it's a lot deeper then breaking some girls heart. I think someone broke their's, and hurt them or took advantage of them before leaving them to burn. And that's how they became Lust. So they'd never have to be hurt that same way. So they'd never have to love again, because above all things lust is not love, it's a superficial attachment to someone with no real merit behind it.
Wait, so in the image with Levi’s heart we see that his heart is partially pink - with parts growing, and other parts blacked out. ( 1:47 ) and he eats / takes the heart of people with love. Could it be that perhaps Morpheus messes with people to gain love / emotion?? Or maybe he’s a jerk and I’m just trying to give this character some sympathizing traits 😖✌️
rad animations I was thinking that his heart is cracked because he can’t truly love someone, he’s been with and played with many people. “Eyes dark with lust” is a saying, and it’s sort‘ve tainting someone’s soul. So, in this case his heart is being darkened (tainted) with lust and the bright cracks could really not be cracks at all, but true admiration and love. Since the other characters have bright pink hearts [except Levi cuz he’s green with envy] the bright pink could be his lovers love, affection, desires, admiration, etc holding his heart together. (So instead of cracks, it’s like glue) Keeping him from falling apart and losing himself in his own pool of lustful desires.
@@thecoldseason1407 it depends on what you want to think honestly, if you wanna go the (kinda) happy way, your theory would work, if you wanna go a sadder route you can take the cracks and eating hearts to feel again, then yeah. but of course, none of these have been confirmed so, canons gonna bust at least one of these theories

Cuz when he “eats” (might just be a big metaphorical scene regarding his lust for people’s affection and love and desires and shEeZe) someone’s heart (their love and sheeze) it’s keeping him sane and like- able to not fall apart because he can still feel something (like satisfaction and power over someone’s feelings) iN mY theOry I’m basically saying that he NEEDS people more than he WANTS them (well more of a mix of the two but more needing since he still needs them to feel satisfied and in control of himself) But I think thats what’s making his character so complicated because you can take his actions either way, making him WANT people more than NEEDING them. Just wanted to clear that up because- I can’t really write down FULLY what I want to imply clearly, but what I’m trying to imply isn’t really kinda happy, it’s extremely dark if I get into detail and know hOw To frEaKIN wriTe iT doWn pRoPerlY- But ye- And you’re totally right, it depends on what you want to think and of course the canon reason can burn all of these theories :,D
Or alternatively, it’s linked to how long Modeus has been a sin. Levi is the new kid on the block, having been with the sins for less than a year. Meanwhile Modeus is chronologically in his 90’s.
Okay I’m not going to lie, Modeus is actually my favourite character. They just really interest me (probably not a surprise but my favourite canon characters are Gowther and Helbrum 👀) I just want them to get the therapy they need- there’s always a reasoning behind a person’s actions, so I don’t believe they’re truly a bad person.. 👉👈

After listening to the lyrics of the whole song, a lot of songs associated with Modeus have mentioned “ships” and “boats”, which I assume is an allusion to Modeus being a sex trafficking victim as a human (based on the little talks animatic), as they were usually transported on ships. God, my heart breaks for Modeus, they need love and healing.

Ok I'm rewriting this: What I think about Modeus so far is that he has a very flexible and easygoing personality (at least on the outside) but deep down he pities himself for how he became a deadly sin (3:15). I think Modeus became a deadly sin after he was in love with someone but saw them die in front of his eyes. After this he established some sort of defense mechanism to stop him from loving again or he lost his feelings of love (he might have even lost most of his other feeling which would explain his laid back attitude and heartless reply to Levi's confession.) In order to get the feeling of love back he starts "eating" peoples feelings of love (or lust, I'm not sure) for him (1:07). Obviously you have to see your food to eat it so Modeus can see peoples feelings. Another reason why Modeus rejected Levi so harshly could be that Modeus can see Levi's feelings (1:16). An upside down heart symbolizes an upside down relationship, because Modeus saw it wouldn't work he flat out rejected Levi. This is kind of off topic but in my personal opinion I think lust and envy are a horrible ship because lust would obviously sleep around and flirt with everyone while envy would only get more and more jealous (which is understandable) to the point where the relationship turns sour and is now toxic. Again this is just MY opinion so if you ship it its fine (I used to ship too). Yes it didn't delete this time! *insert happy crying noises*

i'm a bit conflicted on how to feel about modeus as a person now because i instantly sympathized with levi but can i just say i really appreciate how much depth you put into him which is something i really love. it makes sense of how modeus is because that's what caused him to become lust, and he's the representation of it. i don't know, i kinda just really like it when characters aren't 100% good and have flaws and maybe don't have the best traits because it adds something to them and makes them feel more real I guess you could say. i really like modeus as a character but because of how levi got affected because of him i'm feeling against biased against him??- but i really really really enjoy and appreciate the amount of effort mush put into these character and their origin stories and just tying it all back around. i can't wait to see more of these characters :)

ok this is probably a reach but like. we know that modeus can shapeshift, we know that they had kind of a shitty time becoming a demon. during the tv static flashback scene, there’s someone crying and on fire. it’s kinda implied that this is someone modeus broke the heart of, but at the end the on fire person’s eyes turn pink, which is the signature color of lust. we can’t see the face of the person very well, and even if it was clearly not modeus, again, we know they can shapeshift. personally, i don’t think the flashback scene is meant to be taken literally, it seems much more metaphorical as burning to death in front of your ex isn’t a super practical way to die. i think it’s more likely modeus thinking about someone they screwed over, or, as my theory goes, themself. it could also be the previous demon of lust who modeus shapeshifted to look like after they became a demon. (that’s not very likely just a possibility i wanted to throw out.) i don’t think we’ve ever seen them doing the whole playing with people’s hearts as a human, nor do i believe we’ve ever actually seen them as a human. i think a viable option for becoming the embodiment of lust could theoretically be sleeping with a lot of people who all end up leaving you, which could explain why their heart is so broken. it could also explain why they’ve taken up the behavior themself- it’s not an excuse, but sometimes it feels a lot safer to ruin a relationship on your own terms. anyway that is all most likely wild speculation but i thought it was a fun concept!
Idk why, but i feel like Modeus puts on this fake and innocent act, but on the inside, he is depressed, hurt, filled with regret based on his past. If someone could eventually dig deep in there and make him express his true self and his emotions, I feel like he could actually start getting better. But of course, he pushes everyone away by hurting them so no one can actually get in his head. 🤔😔 Edit: omg i got likes? He was a player. And seeing her suffer so much because of him was the thing that broke Modeus' heart and made him a sin. "Lust"
From the scene at 0:28 it showed how Modeus wanted to feel love again because it felt like not being able to love again left his heart broken.
Levi fell for him and proof of that is in Mushie's "Your Text" animatic.
Levi tried to convince himself so much that Modeus was still capable of loving but it wasnt true. Modeus represented "Lust" one of the seven deadly sins. And everything that lust is *isn't love.* And so Levi felt heartbreak because of it.
The reason Modeus says "You all had it easy" near the end (at 3:15) was because he imagined that the heartbreak he felt was nothing compared to the ones that made the other sins the way they are. And so he felt as if he was the most broken.
He wasn't wrong for feeling that way because love is a powerful thing. It does things to your heart. And not being able to feel it would feel *painful.*
Again, this was only what I got from the video so I might have missed some things. I love Mushie's OCs so much and understanding them is always something intriguing. I think that this video was amazing, keep up all the amazing animatics Mushie. Love ya ❤

yes, they appear extremely cheerful, but theyre very fidgety, their poses (artfully drawn btw june :3c) r always semi distant, and when they get close, its never a slow, comfortable slide, its always uncomfortably quick, like they dont really like it as much as they say they do :U!!!

Ok here’s what I have gathered from this video, I’m absolutely terrible at making theories only using videos so this could be a stretch but, it seems like out of all the sins Modeus’ life when he was human was the worst. We know they were human before becoming their sin because of the video before this one. Modeus also mentions at the end of the video that the others had it easy, considering it’s past tense it could be referring to his life as a human. Now the real question is, why does he do the things that he does and why does he hate pretty much everyone but Momman? The answer is actually pretty simple if you look at it in a certain way. What I gathered is that Modeus most likely has trust issues, he died/became his sin while burning. Modeus is lust, so I’ll go out on a limb and say that he was most likely betrayed by his lover. I see the way he acts as more of a defense mechanism more than him just being a villain. He thinks that if he hurts those around him or if he plays with their feelings then he is in control, and he decides his and the others fate. He hates them because they had it easy and because if he hates them then he’ll be less likely to be hurt. Now to Momman, why does Modeus find Momman useful? I think it’s simple, Modeus probably knows that Momman likes Levi, the dude is lust after all. Modeus probably got Momman to tell him the same way he got Levi to tell him that he liked him in the Your Text animatic. Since he figured out about Momman’s crush he decided to use it to his advantage, to either toy with both Levi and Momman’s feelings or to get Momman to trust him by saying that he’ll help him, which explains why Momman also finds Modeus useful, to ultimately break Momman feelings once he finds out that Levi likes Modeus. Wow ok that was a lot, and it’s probably not even close to being right but I think I understand Modeus a little more now even if it’s incorrect EDIT: Ok so I just read the quotes that They put on their tumblr! I got a little bit more of an understanding on Modeus! So the fact that he pretty much hates them due to them having it easy is pretty much correct. Also he had to suffer the pain for 40 years, he is 21 but has been alive for 94 years btw. Also if you scroll further down than you find out that Modeus is probably the least knowledgeable of the subject, he doesn’t want to learn about it either. Back to the age thing though, if Modeus died at the age of 21 and he had suffered for 40 years then I’m guessing when we see him burning he’s most likely being tortured, if of course hell works like that in the story, it’ll make sense to! Modeus was most likely tortured for 40 years until finally becoming lust from then till now. He probably along the way realized that the others weren’t as badly or didn’t even get tortured. Also here’s a weird source that I figured using, the quiz actually gave me a lot of info on Modeus. He may be incredibly self loathing and I’m guessing if he can’t get into someone’s pants it adds to his feelings of self hatred, because of this he pushes others away and like I said he thinks if he keeps them away he’ll be in control. If he hurts someone he will act like it doesn’t affect him.

I don't think the girl in the flashback is actually Modeus's girlfriend or anything like that. I think it's their past self. Looking at 2:20, their eyes suddenly flash purple while they try and cover themselves up as a fire slowly grows. Mushi said Modeus had arguably one of that saddest backstories, and I think it's a lot deeper then breaking some girls heart. I think someone broke their's, and hurt them or took advantage of them before leaving them to burn. And that's how they became Lust. So they'd never have to be hurt that same way. So they'd never have to love again, because above all things lust is not love, it's a superficial attachment to someone with no real merit behind it.

Wait, so in the image with Levi’s heart we see that his heart is partially pink - with parts growing, and other parts blacked out. ( 1:47 ) and he eats / takes the heart of people with love. rad animations I was thinking that his heart is cracked because he can’t truly love someone, he’s been with and played with many people. “Eyes dark with lust” is a saying, and it’s sort‘ve tainting someone’s soul. So, in this case his heart is being darkened (tainted) with lust and the bright cracks could really not be cracks at all, but true admiration and love. Since the other characters have bright pink hearts [except Levi cuz he’s green with envy] the bright pink could be his lovers love, affection, desires, admiration, etc holding his heart together. (So instead of cracks, it’s like glue) Keeping him from falling apart and losing himself in his own pool of lustful desires.

Just wanted to clear that up because- I can’t really write down FULLY what I want to imply clearly, but what I’m trying to imply isn’t really kinda happy, it’s extremely dark if I get into detail and know hOw To frEaKIN wriTe iT doWn pRoPerlY- But ye- And you’re totally right, it depends on what you want to think and of course the canon reason can burn all of these theories :,D
Or alternatively, it’s linked to how long Modeus has been a sin. Levi is the new kid on the block, having been with the sins for less than a year. Meanwhile Modeus is chronologically in his 90’s.

After listening to the lyrics of the whole song, a lot of songs associated with Modeus have mentioned “ships” and “boats”, which I assume is an allusion to Modeus being a sex trafficking victim as a human (based on the little talks animatic), as they were usually transported on ships. What I think about Modeus so far is that he has a very flexible and easygoing personality (at least on the outside) but deep down he pities himself for how he became a deadly sin (3:15).
I think Modeus became a deadly sin after he was in love with someone but saw them die in front of his eyes. After this he established some sort of defense mechanism to stop him from loving again or he lost his feelings of love (he might have even lost most of his other feeling which would explain his laid back attitude and heartless reply to Levi's confession.) In order to get the feeling of love back he starts "eating" peoples feelings of love (or lust, I'm not sure) for him (1:07). Obviously you have to see your food to eat it so Modeus can see peoples feelings. Another reason why Modeus rejected Levi so harshly could be that Modeus can see Levi's feelings (1:16). An upside down heart symbolizes an upside down relationship, because Modeus saw it wouldn't work he flat out rejected Levi.
This is kind of off topic but in my personal opinion I think lust and envy are a horrible ship because lust would obviously sleep around and flirt with everyone while envy would only get more and more jealous (which is understandable) to the point where the relationship turns sour and is now toxic. Again this is just MY opinion so if you ship it its fine (I used to ship too).

i'm a bit conflicted on how to feel about modeus as a person now because i instantly sympathized with levi but can i just say i really appreciate how much depth you put into him which is something i really love. it makes sense of how modeus is because that's what caused him to become lust, and he's the representation of it. i don't know, i kinda just really like it when characters aren't 100% good and have flaws and maybe don't have the best traits because it adds something to them and makes them feel more real I guess you could say. i really like modeus as a character but because of how levi got affected because of him i'm feeling against biased against him??- but i really really really enjoy and appreciate the amount of effort mush put into these character and their origin stories and just tying it all back around. i can't wait to see more of these characters :)

ok this is probably a reach but like. we know that modeus can shapeshift, we know that they had kind of a shitty time becoming a demon. during the tv static flashback scene, there’s someone crying and on fire. it’s kinda implied that this is someone modeus broke the heart of, but at the end the on fire person’s eyes turn pink, which is the signature color of lust. we can’t see the face of the person very well, and even if it was clearly not modeus, again, we know they can shapeshift. personally, i don’t think the flashback scene is meant to be taken literally, it seems much more metaphorical as burning to death in front of your ex isn’t a super practical way to die. i think it’s more likely modeus thinking about someone they screwed over, or, as my theory goes, themself. it could also be the previous demon of lust who modeus shapeshifted to look like after they became a demon. (that’s not very likely just a possibility i wanted to throw out.) i don’t think we’ve ever seen them doing the whole playing with people’s hearts as a human, nor do i believe we’ve ever actually seen them as a human. i think a viable option for becoming the embodiment of lust could theoretically be sleeping with a lot of people who all end up leaving you, which could explain why their heart is so broken. it could also explain why they’ve taken up the behavior themself- it’s not an excuse, but sometimes it feels a lot safer to ruin a relationship on your own terms.
anyway that is all most likely wild speculation but i thought it was a fun concept!

Idk why, but i feel like Modeus puts on this fake and innocent act, but on the inside, he is depressed, hurt, filled with regret based on his past. If someone could eventually dig deep in there and make him express his true self and his emotions, I feel like he could actually start getting better. But of course, he pushes everyone away by hurting them so no one can actually get in his head. 🤔😔
