  • Protection and Entertainment in the same package, the way it should be. We review the Walker's Safety XCEL 500BT Bluetooth Digital Ear Muffs. Not only do they have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 26, but they also have active hearing and Bluetooth capability. You can still hear what's going on around you because the Active Hearing uses a mic to pass in the safe sounds from the outside. As soon as it senses a loud noise, it digitally suppresses it. You can also connect it via Bluetooth to your phone to enjoy that '80s rock or Irish Folk music on your playlist.

The microphone test with the noise was ingenious. That really did show the product off.

Would possibly buy if they were type-C rechargeable.

I've got a pair myself and they work great, but there's a constant static noise in the left ear muff that wasn't there when they were new. Was the unit actually on when you did the mic test? I could barely hear you speaking, but obviously the sound was muffled.

Thank you for posting. What is the difference between the 500BT and these Blaze Orange XCEL models?

Will these work for the top fuel race car noise?

Ive had 3 sets of these. They ALWAYS break on that plastic clip that connects the adjustment wire to the shell. Horrible design to have a cheap piece of plastic, with a hole in it take the stress it does.

You can hear the white noise in the audio track being amplified before making the banging noises with the mic outside of the hearing protection. You can also hear the white noise level drop just before doing the bang noises with the mic inside the hearing protection. Pretty dishonest.

Good video, but you’re actually wrong. Electronic hearing protection doesn’t have active noise cancellation. It’s passive noise reduction and all it does it let in a specific volume and frequency of sound.

I prefer a rechargible headset with type c port

Rechargeable batteries MUST be able to be removed from the device. They will not last forever and are one of the first things that fail/need to be replaced. This device gives you the ability to use your own rechargeable batteries.

$150 is too steep for the limited usage it would have.
I just put my LG Bluetooth earphones in my sub$10 Hearing protection when I use both.
As far as using on a gun range, it's doubtful range masters would allow them.
I know the two that I know won't.

These most definitely are allowed at ranges. It’s great for the price, especially 26DB. You can find them for under $100 now.

I have these. They are pure garbage. Don’t waste your money. They aren’t rugged. The sound quality and attenuation is awful. I left the range with my ears ringing

There’s no way you left the range with your ear ringing. That fact alone says that you are a liar.
