I rewatched that Yamaha crash 20x in a row! What a crazy high-side from full lean in the opposite direction, but it looks like the rear-end stepped out first!
Out of all the big brands, Alpinestars is one of my favorites. Sure, some of their low-end gloves aren't the best value (what do you expect for 80 bucks?), but their high-end gloves and rest of their gear (leather and textile clothing) is excellent. Alpinestars just launched a cheap textile jacket that's CE certified (not just armor). It's impressive seeing the cost of the jacket.
I love you guys for making stuff like this. One question: how soon can you make it publicly available? because I'd pay quite a bit for a suit like that.
@KillerWhaleSFl If the system is anything like the Dainese one it will deflate again quite quickly, just in case it accidently went off when the rider had an almost crash, for example a near highside.
2:04 Hmm, and it's the Dovizioso wreck at Silverstone that brought me to this video. Last time I was into the scene seriously airbags were just beginning to be prototyped. Had no idea they were so wel developed to the point of being mandated now.
Interesting vid. Btw I think they had to show Stoner on the Ducati as no one else rides the Duke fast enough to need protecting!!! Only Joking.....I love em all-
See its happen during sepang gp from 93 rider during pole position time attack at corner no.2 the airbag deployed mid-air when it sense the rider no longer in contact with the bike its really matter of milisecond or he could break his neck or shoulder from the way he's falling both knee first then smacking his head to the hard surface of the tarmac thank for the helmet and jacket....a very good job on making riding jacket more safe
Thank you alpinestars for making my idols safe :)
This was a really good video, gives an insight into the gear that everyone has been wondering, good job motogp ! I'm watching this again

Super interesting, I always wondered how these suits work so well
Absolutely love it. I’d pay big for that suit.

Question:
IS it true that most motogp boots have Daytona inner boots?
i heared some of them do. the rider at 1:46 does not because he obviously hurt his ankle.

what went wrong in 1:40
Highside, first the tires lose grip and slip but then suddenly regain it causing the bike to flip the other way.
