You got nostalgia mixed with sarcasm hinting the tone this review would be BOOMING into the viewer😵💫 😂 this execution looks like they soiled themselves, flop house paint apps😖. I also was eager to see the Condiment King Baf. I was roorting for a course correct with his rendering. Sculpt was great but he does the flop better then any tik toker. Again with the body fluids paint apps. The aggravation with what should of been a wonderful plastic celebration is going to be felt by all. OMG. Thanks to Dwayne for taking a hit for the team 🏅we gotta hope Todd does a deluxe non cell shaded release of CK later maybe a McFarlane store exclusive(sic- easy sell out) 👍🤞

Always love me some MadFarlane, did you know that he created Spawn? When done well, cel-shading elevates a figure. But you know you've done it badly when there's an uptick in people asking and researching for ways to remove it.
Being a fan and a collector of this line is really a full on treasure hunt. I really hope McFarlane fixes the paint in the next releases. Thank you for the video!
Went "oh boy, Condiment King"...then looked at the figures closer and noticed the bad paint apps. Plus there's the $30 price for an individual figure. Ouch.

Hilarious vid and so on-point!!! This is the stuff i live for, Hatter, thnx for providing this brilliance for all to see. About the figs... it's disappointing to see such potential go to waste. I think that company had seen better days and now just phoning-in most things in. :(
I can't think of a cel shaded action figure release that actually looked good. I am sure there are examples (probably by Mondo, maybe NECA). If a company wants to make something look "the animated series," I personally prefer just subtle color accents and going a bit heavier on black lines to emulate how traditional animation uses line work to show definition and depth. Otherwise, these recent cel shaded toys by McFarlane and Hasbro look like the characters got stains on their uniforms and/or wet themselves
Painting looks like halfassed camo versions of the early 90s batman returns figures... That clip at the beginning reminded me of the time Stan Lee mocked smugfarlane saying "So you're telling me you're capable of drawing AND thinking at the same time?" Lol.
I almost turned off the video after that PERFECT hilarious intro.. I was dead and I felt like that's all I needed to watch... I stayed either way 💥 BOOM 💥 lol

I bought a Venom because it was part of the retro collection but when the figure arrived it had a horrible red and blue shade they tried to mimic the animation style but it looks horrible

I got mister freeze and will pick up Scarecrow if I see him, but I passed on batman and robin...so ugly. I did want condiment king but those legs are scary. I went from wanting them all to... maybe I will pick up one or two?
Dc collectibles are molded with plain pvc and painted with matte finish. Mcfarlane toys are molded pvc with its color that's why it's shiny. The only painted is that out of placed cel shade. If I'm going to buy that batman definitely going to spray paint it with clear coat matte finish tamiya spray paint. The only thing i hate in dc collectibles are the pvc used are so brittle. At least mcfarlane pvc are slightly durable. The only problem is loose joints. 😅
I'm the proud owner of like 98% of the animated line, so glad I don't have to settle for these pieces of reissued shit. At least it's nice ppl are getting the opportunity to buy some of these rare gems, albeit subpar. And definitely wasn't gonna pay $130+ to get Condiment King. Now if they do Tygrus and Anthony Romulus...count me in on however the fuck much money I have to spend on those!
Hopefully McFarlane hears the criticism and stops with the shading. Of course that means he will rerelease these again without the shading down the line and people will have to buy them twice.

Couldn't agree more-can't stand the recent trend of cell-shading action figures and will not be buying any of them. (You don't need to paint shadows on 3 dimensional action figures-the shadows will appear naturally the same way shadows appear on all 3 dimensional objects. Duh!)
