The national parks may not have the Huts, but in the New Hampshire white mountains we have a number of huts where you can overnight. They’re all on or very near the Appalachian Trail, but most of the people that stay there are just hikers who don’t want to carry all that gear for an overnight. They can be pricey, but I’m sure those huts that you stayed in. We weren’t exactly cheap.

The only thing thats similar that I know of in the US is Mt Leconte in Tennessee.

Although it sounds scarier than it is, look up the Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites. I did the Bocchette loop, just east of Pinzolo.

good to know! our huts were $50-100 a night with meals included
