That is what I love about Courtney, her versality. She can go from Rocker, to fun and playful, to heartbreaking ballads. You should check out her other original songs Breakable , Call Me Back and Christmas Rocks. Her covers are good too, like Old Town Road, her Quarantine cover of What's Love Got To Do With It. plus all of her previous covers that she has done over the years.
Hi Saeed. Cool Courtney reaction. Absolutely terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. I would call it a jazzy song with a touch of almost 1940's Swing. That's one thing about Courtney. With her incredible versatility, you never know what to expect next. Not only is the song fabulous, but the video is a work of art and perfect for the song. It's just my opinion, but I think there are a number of messages here. First, Courtney is singing about, among other things, no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. Courtney has confirmed that is the primary message of the song. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Past/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney in the video and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland (from Alice in Wonderland). Secondly, for four plus years, the labels have tried to tell Courtney what she should be. Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Now that the labels are gone, she has released a flood of sensational original music. Lastly, when all the paparazzi come to the door and she turns them away, she is saying that, to be able to release the kind of music I love, is more important than the possible fame, if I have to sell out to get it. To answer your question, Courtney went independent at the beginning of 2023.
Hello again and a great reaction Saeed, what a tune that never fails to get us moving, what ever song she does comes with a different motion that no other artist can do,so talented and there's more to come very soon, can't wait 👍
This is a great reaction and yes you are right the basis of these lyrics is Courtney making it clear that she has moved on and grown up from the little girl we all came to love in 2018 on AGT when she was just 13 years old and all the many videos on TH-cam when she was a young girl. Courtney has arrived!!!! This was her second release since becoming an Independent artist at the beginning of 2023. The best is yet to come!!!
Saeed, you're correct all around. Yes, my take is that the singer is talking about herself, having got out of a toxic relationship, and she has grown to the point that she knows she will never be that girl again, and that is what she is telling her ex. And yes, she's an indie rocker now. She fought constantly with her record label over what she could record, but that contract ended and she's purely on her own. And doing great.
again a very good reaction and appreciation of my favourite singer Courtney! I guess I wasn't completely wrong with my rollercoaster reference? Greetings from Germany ps: do you perhaps also speak German?
Thanks so much! Great song. I only know a bit of German, my wife is much better at it. Which is great when we travel to Germany 😃 Greetings from Belgium.
I knew you'd like this. It's the most popular of the 5 original songs she released last year. Monsters broke through on some hard rock platforms (number 19 on Billboard's Hard Rock Digital Sales chart and Coolest Song In The World 2023 on Little Steven's Underground Garage listener's poll on SiriusXM) but That Girl Don't Live Here got the most views on TH-cam and the most streams on Spotify by a very wide margin. Great reaction, Thank you for this!
I don't know if it has been mentioned. The four cover songs were also released to show that Courtney can sing a softer side as well. Everyone thought at the time that she could only sing rock with a full power voice.. But oh how wrong they were, she can pretty much sing anything. Hope you do more reactions on her. There is a lot in her little rabbit hole from her younger age and before AGT. And already there you can see what a special artist we are dealing with. Have a nice day!

My personal favourite is still Breakable. No spoilers, but the video is quite a big part as to why it is my favourite.
