    I use african black soap to wash my locs. I melt it with water so its easier to apply when its liquid. I also add a little bit of olive oil and tea tree oil to prevent the dry scalp. Then, after the shampoo, i dry my hair by shaking it and with the sun. Then i apply sweet almond oil to condition my locs and VOILÀ ! Done !😊
    Hope my english is not too bad ( french)
    Love from *Guadeloupe* ♥

    I wash with 2 in 1 suave, then deep condition & put boocoo oil afterwards! At first I used beeswax 🚫, then eco styler (its was okay..minimal build up & nice hold), now I just use oil and do a braid out to hold! My retwist last wayyyy longer ! ⚜️💞♍️

    You should try the fold over method (I think that’s what’s its called) when you retwist your hair. When you don’t have clips you can make a small Bantu knot at the base of each loc after you retwist it. It’s good for people with longer locs it keeps the roots tight then just unfold it after your hair drys

    How often would you recommend washing and re-twisting locs?

    • @m11118
      @m11118 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been watching a bunch of videos and most people recommend re-twisting at most 4 times an year.
      Some people wash once every month others twice every month. I think washing depends on how much build up you have depending on the products you use. The less products you use, the less build up you'll have.
      I would recommend moisturising your roots with castor oil once a week and moisturise your locs with rose water mixed with a light oil also once a week. My hair is very dry and that's what I do to moisturise. Hope I was helpful in some way.

      I had my locs going on 15 yrs n I would recommend washing once a month n re-twisting. I would also advice to not over twist your hair because the locs can become tiny. I can successfully say in all the yrs I have avoided this from happening.

      Akesa Gilkey I recently used a crochet needle(.75 size) and it really cool to combine ur locs with it. I retwist about a month to 6 weeks, and wash about every two weeks. Also, if you are doing the 6 week retwist, I highly recommend doing partial retwist when u wash your hair(basically only retwisting the front part of your head). This helps to maintain that neat look without doing your whole head.

      It's before your hair matures❤️ so before you hit 6 months when you're starting out because your hair won't lock up as easily with the detangler in the conditioner. I can't wait for month 7 and I can use it again, because dry is an understatement 🤣🤣
