Hey bro, I saw you at the betsie river this past weekend in the parking lot around 4am Saturday morning when everybody was ducking to the parking lot hiding from the rain haha hope you had a good weekend bro
You're the man, Davis. I did about 16 hours of fishing in 24 hours up there Saturday to Sunday and didn't get a single bite. I tried the Betsie, Big Man, the dams, etc. The fish are not in anything like last year. Oh well... lots of hiking and beautiful outdoors and I'll try again in a week or so. Lol. The addiction is real!
Same , was there from thurs-sun and threw everything but the kitchen sink and they had lockjaw !
Will be going to the Betsie on the September 17. Do you guys think the fish will be in by then?

Most people had the same story as you for the weekend, we got lucky a few times but it wasn't easy

Hey Fray, would you know (or be willing to comment on) if the gets decent runs, not looking for spots, but my buddy seems to think that since the DNR doesn't plant in the that there's no run at all. Still looking to land my first one after 2 years of trying decently well, tried the yesterday, but that river kicked my ass and apparently has later runs as compared to most other rivers on the west side anyways...
Can't really talk about specific rivers on here but I dont have much experience that way

All of it. The run will continue for at least 2 weeks with bright cohos still available as they stay fresher way longer than Kings. Go get em!

Can't wait for this weekend on my Washington coastal river. There's a lot of fish but the skein bite is practically non existent. If it gets too bad I'll just floss em. I need the eggs. Once it rains and it moves the fish to the upper river and the water cools down the skein bite gets good. And you'll bet I will film it too.

Hell yeah, decided to skip the haul up this year bc of all the people on the water. Heading up to Pere Marquette for a couple days next week instead. Keep pumpin out the quality content man🤙🏼

What weight two hand fly rod was your buddy using for coho ? do you think you could land a king with it?
That was an 8 wt, kings will bully most fly setups but many people use 8wts with success

Is fishing with eggs hit or miss for the Salmon season to season? I fish the Ontario tributaries and I only had luck 1 year out of 3. What am I doing wrong? Love the videos!!
Idk about season to season but there are definitely some days where they want nothing to do with eggs and others where they consistently hit it all day

Hey fray, any recommendations on what to use to catch salmon in the rivers if you don't have any skein? I have a bunch of steelhead eggs, but no skein or salmon eggs.

Great vids. Keep it up. I purchased a Okuma Raw ll last winter on clearance. Looking for a rod for $100 - $250 for it. Michigan salmon steelhead bead/spawn/skein rod. Can you give a couple suggestions?
Best rod imo would be blood run skein cane hd but it's out of stock till November, the regular skein cane is good and in your price range but a little light if you want to target kings much
