He is acknowledging that mans life and offering a friendly listening ear to comfort the man including himself. “Hey don’t take any shit from him Cunningham.....with a name like Francis”…..Cunningham replies with lessened but lightly existent fear & bewilderment “Francis?" stunned by the humor. Deadpool now *laughs with a black eye also very subtly coughing but not noticeably. You can hear the torture he endured low-key but he’s genuinely laughing as Ajax is now approaching. Deadpool then says, “He got Ajax from the dish soap" spelling Francis in a disrespectful way which Infuriates Ajax to switch his attention to Deadpool... I THINk Deadpool knew it would switch attention …This makes me think Deadpool preferred himself to be torture grasping that guys attention Deadpool did this cuz it’s implied Ajax likes when vulnerable people suffer….& Deadpool may have known that because of his experience as a mercenary not wanting to give Ajax the pleasure of "fear feeding” quite the selfless intelligent maneuver…If a psychopath who likes vulnerable beings hurt sees someone screaming in pain or begging, they may get excited & get worse to thrive off that interaction Deadpool also wasn't just fighting for himself against Ajax...The last thing saw before he passed out was Cunningham burn after round 1 of (Deadpool Vs Ajax)...Deadpool was fighting for the lost lives of everyone in that experimentation facility. Especially during the "Civil War" plotline when he thought that he was talking to himself but people would walk by and say, "Talkin' to yourself, dude." His fight with the Great Lakes Avengers is pretty funny.
ive seen some debate on whether or not its an ability he has, the other arguments i've seen is that he's also just basically insane and thinks he's being watched by an unseeable audience, which is plausible considering he basically acts out in whatever way he wants as if he has no consequences.
Ryan Reynolds first became aware of Deadpool because a producer friend told him after seeing the film Blade Trinity that if they ever make a Deadpool movie he would be perfect to play him. Ryan confessed that he had never heard of Deadpool before, so the producer mailed him some Deadpool comics. When he was reading the comics there is a scene in one issue where he is walking down the street and an old woman asks Deadpool what he looks like under the mask, he then says “ I look like a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a Shar-Pei”. After Ryan heard destiny call to him he then spent the next 11 years trying to get this movie made.

Based on Morena's performance in the remake of V, I feel like she'd be ABSOLUTELY amazing to play Death, especially if she comes from an alternate universe, since Vanessa is a different character.
@@sergiogonzalez1295 The only one she can never truly have. He evades death, which makes him unreachable, which makes him desirable. I love this arc so much, it'd be so sick to see it realized in a movie
This Deadpool is like the most accurate depiction in a movie ever. Ryan Reynolds completely put his heart and soul in bringing Deadpool to life. Basically, Ryan Reynolds was born to be Deadpool. It's almost scary. Also, my favorite joke in the movie is that none of the criminals knew that Ajax's real name was Francis, he spent all that time looking for Francis, if he just asked for Ajax that would cut out half the story.
But hey, at least it lead to this meme: "WHERE IS FRANCIS!?!?" "I'm sorry... Who is Francis?!" "I'll do you one better, WHY IS FRANCIS!?!?!" I mean, come on. I just had to....
They even joekd about it in the comics, which apparently got Ryan Reynolds interested in playing him properky. Fuuuuck I can't watch deadpooled censored. That's just plain disrespectful to Ryan's art.
Fun fact, the final fight scene was suppose to start with a massive gun fight, which is why Deadpool had so many guns, but their budget ended up getting cut and because of that they couldn't film the gun fight. So they kept Deadpool getting all the guns ready but changed it to Deadpool forgetting the guns in the car to make it into a joke since they couldn't do a gun fight.
To answer your question: Ryan Reynolds’s improvised SO MUCH of Deadpool’s dialogue that the writers of DP2 immediately decided NOT to write ANY dialogue (just for DP) for DP2. Each Side for RR will simply describe the scene and point that needs to be gotten across in the scene, leaving RR to decide WHAT DP would say.
The after-credit scene, where Deadpool tells the audience to go home is a throwback to the film "Ferris Beuller's Day Off," in which Ferris tells the audience to go home.
@@russell-gt1dy Laurel & Hardy and Groucho Marx did it many times. Also Mel Brooks would have his characters do it often. Eddie Murphy did it in Trading Places.
@@russell-gt1dy The saying is far older than you think. Before movies there were plays. The stage looked a bit like a room with 3 walls. One behind the actors and 1 on each side. Because the actors did not acknowledge the audience it was if there was an invisible 4th wall between the characters and the audience. But sometimes in pantomimes the characters did notice the audience, breaking that invisible 4th wall.
One of my favorite subtle jokes from this is that during Deadpool’s “where’s Francis” montage, it’s highly likely that the reason none of Francis’ henchmen are telling Deadpool where Francis is…. Is because they don’t know his real name.
@@SiriusBigbadda I would argue that they aren’t telling him though otherwise he wouldn’t have had to work his way up, he could’ve gone straight to Francis. That what actually happens is they just tell him who their boss is which is something they do know, which leads to “Agent Smith” who is high enough that he actually does know enough about Francis.
Deadpool is a marvel character he’s a antihero meaning he still saves ppl but still does things a hero wouldn’t do and he’s just marvel character who is crazy but also knows he’s a movie/comic fictional character who has the ability to talk to the viewers and makes fun of everyone tbh
This is the real Deadpool. He is known as The Merc With The Mouth, which is why they did the character dirty when they sewed his mouth shut in the Wolverine film, which was caused by some rewrites during a writer’s strike. Deadpool is a character in the comics that constantly breaks the fourth wall because he knows he is in a comic book. He is an extremely fun, yet crude character.
@@TheJerbol Blame youtube, it turned people's names into something else when they changed how naming worked. For instance that 500 at the end of my name does not exist. never did. They just added it for no reason probably because there was a similar name.
The Studio cut the production money for this movie, which is why there are so many references to "forgetting" guns and the studio not offering more Xmen.
@@kerry-j4m Yeah, Fox was so certain the movie would fail they tried to reduce their losses by being as cheap as possible even cutting the budget while production was already in progress. Then the movie went on to make like $1.3 billion world wide.
After filming, Ryan stole one of the Deadpool suits and took it home. He said he'd been waiting for YEARS to finally play Deadpool, and was not leaving without one.
Morena Baccarin is not only a fox, she was absolutely perfect for this role. I think most actresses would just come of as vapid beneath a stereotypically pretty face in this - she does not at all. Vanessa is a believable character without a ton of screen time to work with. Plus, she's a fox. She should be called Le Renard.
I'm surprised that as Cassie is such a fan of the show after she had reviewed it, that she didn't recognise that 'Vanessa' was also Inara Serra from Firefly (unless that was cut in this YT edit.)
Fun Deadpool fact, because his cancer is destroying his brain as fast as his powers can heal him, it makes his mind extremely chaotic to the point where even psychic mutants as powerful as Professor Xavier simply go insane if they attempt to enter Deadpool's mind. This essentially makes him immune to mind control.
Yeah his "healing factor " gives him extra cells, skin cells which is why he looks like he does. Extra brain cells which is why in the comics he has two voices in his head sometimes and why he hallucinates
So, there is a difference between mutant and mutate. Mutants are naturally altered: Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, etc. Mutates are humans that have been altered, either chemically or surgically: Deadpool, Juggernaut (human, but found a gem of a god that embedded itself in his brain), I know there are others, but I can't think of them right now.
The hilarious joke of the whole movie is that he’s running around asking everyone where Francis is. The joke is none of the henchmen know him by that name so they don’t even know who he’s talking about to answer 😂
Deadpool started being written the way he is around the time Ryan Reynolds was becoming popular starring in Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. So I can't help but wonder if Deadpool's personality was based on Ryan Reynolds in the first place.
Some roles people are just born to play. Tobey maguire Spider-Man Willem Defoe Green Goblin Wesley Snipes Blade Huge Jackman Wolverine Hayden Christensen Anikan Skywalker.
I think the immediate recognition and reaction when Deadpool asks if they've seen 127 hours is probably one of my favorite authentic reactions I've seen to this movie/scene, especially knowing how squeamish they are. I couldn't help but laugh at that.
I worked at the movie theater when this came out and I always loved the end credit scene, the theater was literally cleaner afterwards because he mentioned it.
The funny credits at the beginning were just a placeholder when the producers were first shown the movie. They loved it and told the effects team to keep them
The bit where Wade and Vanessa try to one-up each other about how horribly they grew up, also reminded me of Monty Python (the four Yorkshiremen). Well, tehcnically that sketch wasn't in any Python episodes, it was in It's The 1948 Show I believe, but they did it during their live shows, so it counts 😀

Deadpool has been popular since he debuted on the pages of Marvel Comics back in 1990. He's been around. He started off as a super-villain, and became an anti-hero over time. Even in the comics he broke the 4th wall and made silly pop-culture references and jokes about other comic book characters (not all of which were in the Marvel Universe)...Ryan Reynolds didn't invent that. I still remember trying to tell my friends about this crazy character when I was in high school, but it fell on deaf ears, they didn't get it.
Oh,man,I'm just know realizing this after you pointed it out, after all these years. LOL. What a yulzz I am.All the female actresses on Firefly were-GORGEOUS !!!
My grandmother does far less pearl clutching than these two. You can tell that each of them on their own might have enjoyed it and laughed. But put them together and they'll spend the entire time virtue signaling their moral outrage to the other. Each is trying to one-up the other in exaggerated displays of shock and indignation. One of Deadpool's actual powers is that he knows he's a fictional character either in the comics or the movies. Also, the characters tend to be more comic accurate. Colossus in the comics (steel guy) is Russian.
I think Ryan Reynolds was so traumatized by the version of Deadpool he played in The Wolverine movie, that he's now pretty committed to following the comics. Until this movie, Hollywood always seemed to disregard lore when making movies based on comics or video games. It's so weird, they buy the rights, then change everything that people liked about the source material. I think Hollywood writers hate comic book writers for some reason
I'm not sure I'd call it a power... Wade's insane, due to trauma from becoming Deadpool (and probably the cancer, too)... his delusions about being a fictional character just happen to be right (in _our_ universe, not his) in a stopped clock being right twice a day sort of way.

Fun fact: There was originally going to be a big shootout at the end, but they ended up not having enough money to rent the guns for that long, so they added the joke about Deadpool leaving them in the cab, and instead the scene was him killing everyone (except his pal Bob) using katanas.

1:32 Yes, we saw Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson in Origins: Wolverine, and yes, he technically became Deadpool in that movie but since that take on DP was so universally hated, Ryan spent over 11 years getting a proper DP movie made which became this massive success. So, always apart of the X-Men/Marvel universe, dont have to "forget" what you saw in Origins as the end credits here will resolve that, and now with DP & Wolverine movie, they both are fully integrated into the MCU.

Fun fact about the way Deadpool’s powers work: every cell in his body has super accelerated healing, including the cancer cells. Every part of his body has cancer that would be killing him if not for the healing. He’s in such terrible pain he seems to have transcended his plane of existence into knowing he’s in a comic book or, in this case, a movie.
Maybe in the comics, but his doesn't come across in the film. In the film, he is said to have been cured entirely. After the explosion and impalement by Francis, Wade states that he got the "cure to el everything".and his cancer is never mentioned again.
"with this collar my only super power is cancer, give me a bow and I'm basically hawkeye" deadpool mentioning he still has cancer in the very next movie @thomast8539
I was under the impression that the fact that he knows he's in a comic/movie is because of the "Brain Cancer" part. I always just assumed the skin, etc. is because, not only did his healthy cells start regenerating, but so did his cancer cells. Ergo, He's a walking tumor that "Can't die" but still has some cancerous effects.
@singingwolf3929 so the way it works, his body just keeps making cells at the same rate as the cancer kills them, when someone copys his specific healing factor without his cancer, they just kinda keep gaining mass until they explode because there's no cancer to kill off any excess cells. His cancer is literally part of the reason the healing factor works at all

The band Monster Magnet are huge X Men fans and referenced them in a bunch of their songs. One of their biggest songs was Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Folks at Marvel heard how Monster Magnet was name dropping their heroes so they named a hero to reference Monster Magnet.
The big guy was Colossus. He was an X-man from way back during the Cold War, which made it interesting that he was Russian. His personality was kind of like in this movie, but they made it kind of a parody of himself. He also would not have had much trouble with Angel if he didn't hold back, and the comicbook Colossus would not have after that first hit.

What doesn't immediately stick out to you is that only Deadpool calls Ajax by his given name, Francis. No one calls him that except Deadpool. They probably don't even know him other than as Ajax. All... most... of those deaths could have been avoided. :)
The ONLY 2 differences between this Deadpool and the comics is that Deadpool’s healing factor actually came from Wolverine because the people who experimented on Wade were originally Weapon X. And Deadpool is even more batshit crazy in the comics, he sometimes sees the world in cartoon animation.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and the sequel is just as good if you like the humor. Best to you-
Deadpool does satirize the concept of superheroes, but he also embraces the idea of them. The whole point of his character is that he is meta, and always seems to relate to what an avid Marvel fan is thinking or feeling. So you could say that when he makes fun of a superhero movie, he does it out of love.
Two of the funniest lines, in my opinion, happen on the bridge. A BOTH of them were true! 1) “And that’s why Regina rhymes with fun” and 2) “That guy was already up there when I got here.” Not by much, but technically true.

That is funny.
Honestly, the lack of huge gunfights made this movie a lot better for me.

DP2 is my favourite movie in the Deadpool trilogy.
makes the Tim Hortons advertisements by RR so much funnier
The after-credit scene, where Deadpool tells the audience to go home is a throwback to the film "Ferris Beuller's Day Off," in which Ferris tells the audience to go home.

Chicka-chickaaaaa......
Was Ferris the original fourth wall breaker?

They are telling him tho, otherwise he wouldn't be moving up his stalker board.
Wow...I never thought about that.
@@SiriusBigbaddaIs it possible that only a few know his real name? It would explain why it took as long as it did for DP to find him.

This is the real Deadpool. He is known as The Merc With The Mouth, which is why they did the character dirty when they sewed his mouth shut in the Wolverine film, which was caused by some rewrites during a writer’s strike.
Serious? I always thought his mind got messed up because of his regenerate ability.

I'm not sure I'd call it a power... Wade's insane, due to trauma from becoming Deadpool (and probably the cancer, too)... his delusions about being a fictional character just happen to be right (in _our_ universe, not his) in a stopped clock being right twice a day sort of way.

I scrolled through your posts. You have lots for me to catch up on. I saw you watched First Blood. That might be my next video to watch. It was an excellent movie and is one of my favorite action films of all time. I’m a veteran, so First Blood really hits home, for me.
I don’t expect you to read all of what I have written. It’s a lot, I know. But I am happy to have found you two. So far, I think you’re great.
I just want to say thanks for posting. Watching reaction videos like this is almost like being able to experience these movies for the first time, all over again. That’s special to me.
❤❤❤❤ (that’s two for each of you) 😉
I love the very end -- the reference to Farris Bueler's Day Off! Perfect!!
"... Are you there God, it's me Margaret..." ... Is a book from the 60's/70's for young girls, about their first 'period' ... LOL 😅... such an awesome, and obscure reference !!! 😅 ... 😂 ... Hi-fucking-larious !!!! 😂. I love it !!❤ 😂
The line "Smooth rich Corinthian leather" Comes from a Ricardo Montelbon Toyota commercial in the 70's. Ricardo Montelban play in Star Trek ll The Wrath of Khan. There are a lot of hidden Easter eggs in this film.🤣
It was a Chrysler Cordoba commercial not Toyota
That's not an easter egg, that's just a reference.
Just now saw this was getting ready to start. I am so on board for this. The girls who swear by saying "golly", "gosh darn", and "shoot" taking in Deadpool? Traumatizing? Not traumatizing? I sense traumatization.
Deadpool wasn't the first Marvel hero to break the fourth wall. Back when I collected comic books, X-Men, Thor and the like, a new comic book character called She-Hulk came on the scene and would break the fourth wall a few times every issue. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and the sequel is just as good if you like the humor.
Best to you-
I NEED to see Wade and Jen meet up in the MCU, and get into a fight over whose shtick the fourth wall breaking is.
I subbed to you guys just to see Carly's reactions to movies! She is just too adorable!
Deadpool does satirize the concept of superheroes, but he also embraces the idea of them. The whole point of his character is that he is meta, and always seems to relate to what an avid Marvel fan is thinking or feeling. So you could say that when he makes fun of a superhero movie, he does it out of love.
Carly look away are hilarious 😆.
Two of the funniest lines, in my opinion, happen on the bridge. A BOTH of them were true!
1) “And that’s why Regina rhymes with fun” and
2) “That guy was already up there when I got here.” Not by much, but technically true.
Important Note: Wolverine and Deadpool are actually like tied at the hip in the comics as well, its not just a Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman friendship thing......its just kinda ended up that way perfectly.
Also, Deadpool is exactly like this in the comics as well. Its not just crude humor for no reason.
The Ferris Bueller ending 😂😂😂
Y'all are actually too wholesome hahaha! Deadpool is not the series of comicbook movie you would think. They're really heartfelt. lol
