It's good to see you recycle all the metal - and not put it in the tip. And well done to save that cast iron cook pot! I've had mine for 50 years and still love it.
Love that your showing what a bit of effort by recycling can pay. Money for jam and a bit of sweat. In Australia we have recycle bins for cans and bottles. Last trip was $18 it comes of our grocery bill. Not as impressive as what you got, but every bit helps.
Ooooo, Yip should get a cake! You fellows are so good. A cafe at the scrap yard - that made me laugh out loud!! But. Then I saw how right you are, it was mesmerizing to watch that big grabber machine bite up that big mouthful of metal.

Bon Soir ! Just as I was about to call it a day and go to sleep , up came this video. Of course I’m going to watch it now. Bakery is going to love you two.
My son used to collect spent brass cartridges from a local army training centre which also had fishing lakes he’d camp for a weeks fishing and hunt for them for an hour or so each day. take them to the scrap yard (courtesy of me driving as he was only 13/ 14) and usually made about £50! This was a lot of money 30 years ago!
A good haul with what was essentially rubbish you found! As you say, every penny counts and it soon adds up! Would you be able to sell cuttings and seedlings you bring on, as you are such good gardeners? Verbena plants might be good sellers to people who hire your horse box. It would remind them of the time they spent there. Might raise a few euros over the season and later when you have your brocante.
I want une patissarie with my scrap. I am a scrapper in the US. I am so glad you are taking metal tl the scrapyard. Everything adds up. Cheers guys and Good Luck on your project.
I used to love a good project and a tip run ,those days are over for me so next best thing is to watch you lads from my sofa, you make hard graft fun ,🌺
That was great for you. In the US people drive around with pickup trucks on the day before trash pickup and collect any metal they can find to recycle.
We really enjoyed this video. As we have watched your videos as well as those of other you tubers, we have wondered if France paid for recycled metals. Now we have the answer...... and France pays more then our local per pound! Another great video. Thank you.
Well, I guessed 210, so I didn’t win! Nice work, gents!! So good to see recycling happening. I have seen on other vlogs where the new property owner in France finds all sorts of buried metal (such as old bedsprings) and even burn sites from the era before recycling. It must feel good to have accomplished all the sorting and clearing! 😅
Ahh I’d share my cake with ya Gloria 😇, it does feel so good with that upper part of the house cleared now we can move forward with repairing the stonework etc. at some point. First Henry hoover needs to help us out up there!🥳 linktr.ee/yipandpaulsvillagelinks

I would have gone with Yips evaluation of the scrap. I am gutted as I have been to the Dechetterie to get rid of crap like yours ,Didnt think to get rid of it that way! never mind to late now. Still good price you got for it which would help you for the renovations etc . Merci pour le partage
220+ euros - well done. Not on this video, but it looks like you've both done a fantastic job on the landscaping in the village (to be expected I suppose since this is your profession! 😁) Can't wait to see how the work progresses in the new cottage. Any chance we can see inside your cottage? Have only seen glimpses on the TV show, and it looks lovely! Apologies in advance if this is cheeky/an intrusion! 😳
How amazing is that?! I can't believe you got 230 euros for essentially junk So when the old man used to trundle round with his horse and cart in London shouting "Old Iron!" Taking away people's old bits and bobs, he wasn't just doing you a favour, he was earning a good living!
I know Poppet, he didn’t even have to pay out for fuel..just some oats for the horses 🥳.. he could even sell the horse muck to people for their Rose bushes. 🥳
Take us along to the bakery with you. I'm curious about the supermarket you shop at, the building supply store.... so far it seems you never leave your property. How far away is any shopping?
Oh my goodness Marla don’t suggest a post on that! if RobertHornadays comment on this thread and the ‘Look What We Found’ video is anything to go by he’ll have your guts for garters 😂🤣 Don’t worry we do leave La Buslière, our nearest big supermarket is 20 mins away and the bakery in 10 mins. Lovely to see your name pop up. 🥰
@yipnpaulshelpweboughtavillage I'd be hopeless LOL... I did see a couple of what appeared to be enamelled/cast iron Dutch oven type pots.. they were kinda 70's looking🫣 tho...
How exciting….a whole episode dedicated to a trip to the déchetterie! Let’s crack on and get some true renovation work completed! Enough of the fluff!!

I sold 2 aluminum chaise lounges and a glider aluminum 3 seater settee for 😂$200. The mid century outdoor furniture is hot just now.
