To this day, I'm _STILL_ trying to figure out who the voice over is. Contrary to so many saying it's Vic Caroli, it's not. The only name that comes up with North Country Media Group is Colin Maynard, who still works with NCMG (or has since retired), and he still resides in Great Falls, Montana, which NCMG is stationed out of.

They would used to advertise this like crazy , on the tnt channel , when bugs bunny , muppet show , and fraggle rock would used to come on... ( this was the 11 yr. Old me at the time lol... )
Back in the 90's when this commercial was on, there were "No Fear" bumper stickers that were somewhat popular. I thought it would have been funny to ham a "Zam Fear" bumper sticker made.
"Colin Maynard" pronounced in one version as "Zam Fear", and in this one as "Zom Fear".
This damn commercial came on at every break. It tormented me then and i had to look it up now for a little more torment

Zamfir actually did something significant by reintroducing the pan flute to the world. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see this commercial, which I remember very well. I guess this is what it took to introduce him to an American audience.

In the 70s, on Saturday nite after wrestling and before all nite TV, these infomercials would replace programming. “These hauntingly beautiful renditions of the classics as played by Zamfir, the master of the pan flute”! I can practically quote these verbatim.Then, Ian Anderson of “Jethro Tull” fame came along and we witnessed a skinny wizard gyrating and fluting.Yikes,I feel old.

I remember being stoned with my friends and seeing this ad come on during the inexpensive late-night TV time slots before network sign-off. This ad was very relatable joke fodder for decades. I’m texting this with the sound muted because 40 years later, the achingly boring, cringe-inducing audio STILL haunts my consciousness.
When I saw this as a kid I thought it was a joke.
It was and still is, but not to the people who bought it or made money from it.

I am not sure what your and the other’s are criticizing. Zamfir is the most renowned pan pipe flautist that ever lived. To perform with Andrè Rieu is most amazing. I would so love to see one of his live performances.

they most likely had a much higher profit margin selling direct like this, instead of a retailer taking a cut. of course this was just in north america; my guess is there were plenty of zamfir albums in european record shops, because he was more known there.

I remember these commercials.from.the 70's and 80's. They were the laughing stock of everyone who saw them. Such horrid music. Nobody seemed to know anyone who actually bought this garbage. But man this guy must have had one heck of a publicity agent because these commercials were on late night TV for a decade
