Most of thesis that was made by guys are kinda similar like my classmate his thesis is about porn on how much time did the student in our school spends watching it.... While mine was about student preferences and teachers preference , if they preferred to watch asians porn or western.. The result was teachers prefers asian porn while the students prefer western ones.... By the way i'm asian so it might vary on what country you are from..
That female interviewer tried to be a little prying asking why he knew so much about the subject and he nonchalantly said he was simply academically researching about it.
rodom303 I am Korean and I watch pornos whenever I want without using vpn. I don't understand why foreigners think every pornosits are banned in Korea.(srsly where did they get that stereotype?)
Thomas McGill most of what youre saying is simply untrue and based off of ignorance and inexperience. Ive been able to sustain a happy and loving relationship for 4 years while watching porn almost everyday of my life. Its not porn its the person, everything youre saying is subjective and if you want to get spiritual there is nothing evil in this world this so called evil is a a way for us to learn and grow to become even more amazing and knowledgeable than the gods we already Porn is just another one of the things we learn from and come to this Earth to experience theres nothing wrong with it we choose it or we dont and you have chosen to ignore its benefits and claim it to be evil and a source of corruption and so be it. It truly doesnt matter. Everybody is different. You are always connected to god as you are god, never forget this.
Valeria Vagapova actually you were right. I'm asexual so I don't care about sex that much. Tho I still find some jokes funny, as this comment was. But yeah, I sometimes get so tired that everyone assumes that everyone need sex. They tell me I'm pretending or lying or something like that. It is not cool when someone saying you are lying. I'm not, for me it is just not a big deal at all, I don't get why people pay that much attention for it.
Censoring porn doesn't stop rape or sexual pressure in relationship, the only whay or truly fixing this is better sex education and teaching consent!!!
Millarca B4 There's been many studies that prove that porn rewires the brain and makes it harder for people to have real and meaningful relationships in their lives, it also can lead to sex addiction. The serial killer Ted Bundy claimed that porn is the primary reason that he started to murder and rape women. I'm not saying all people who watch porn are addicts and serial killers, however, the effects are real and they are damaging. Do some research before you go using the old "more sex education" argument.
Uhh, let's not forget that rape is also prominent within the pornographic industry. By watching porn, the industry is further supported and these incidents will continue to occur.
Tess E that's not true. Relationships can be influenced by internet and technology but not just by porn itself. There are no proven scientific studies about the risks of wathcng porn as far as I know
I dunno, if it was banned in my country and I had to secretly download it all the time, I’m 99% sure I would never care enough to watch it. Just not worth it. My sex drive is dang low though so that’s why. Hardly watch it anyway. They could be like that too, possibly
If they censor or prohibit something, not just porn sites necessarily, people will find alternate ways of accessing the blocked content. Also, what is the point of censoring porn? People know it's porn and what it looks like. Also if they don't educate the people, well, problems (for lack of a better word) will happen. Censoring is probably politicians of elderly age had a strong influence over this decision which makes no sense since more often than not, this situation applies to teenagers ~ adults, not the senior citizen population.
porn =/ equal to sex education and people in korea watch porn anyway. and they have a lower teenage pregnancy rate anyway than the U.S where we have porn everywhere. so whats your point?
shalom1948hellyeah Thank you for educating me about that! ...So that's part of why it's hard for Americans to understand prudish Korea... That fundamentally changes my arguments about porn, and everything.
xxnike629xx Porn is full of misconceptions and Dangerous sexualizing of young girls, rape, abuse etc! Porn is absolutely dangerous and should be censored in my opinion. We need EDUCATION not misconceptions and hyper sexualisation.
Porno site need to be censored 🤬 I found many child abuse porno many rape porno and many revenge porno in korea many women killed themselve for revenge porno and many pornos are males centerd in porno males abused women verry violently I saw the porno white male choke a blck woman and the black woman was screaming and Said yes yes yes Wtf??????! That’s not a sex!!!! That’s the abuse Western and japan porno describe the woman as a tool of sex being happy when they are abuse many porno make a verry wrong concept of sex White males are fukkin crazy japan males are creepy Respect women as a korean women if ma man whatched that fukkin shitty japan and whote male centerd porno I’m gonna fukkin kill him literally fukkin kill him
Korea needs *A LOT* of education/help with sexual education and acceptance. (LGBTQ) I never understand the notion that merely making things illegal/"unobtainable" will deter the action when the failures of abstinence, prohibition, etc. are so clear.
How bad is the sex eduaction in S.Korea? is it like 'don't do sex' or nah? Because from what I heard from my friends and half-korean relatives it's basically dont do sex. Also, how intolerant are they towards LGBTQ people? is it as harsh like in Russia?
I get sex education because it seems to really make a difference but porn censorship I don't get at all....Actually from seeing Japanese porn I get why that could make people assault girls also maybe it makes sense for asian countries because I do always here how people are not sexual and that could make people not need to find partners for sex. I live in Canada where most people start having sex around 15 and start watching porn around 12 or13 but I would still not want it banned
When something is accessible = whatever When something is censored = it's illegal I want to know why it makes me curious I'm intruiged more to see what it's all about Psychology
If something is banned, a lot of people will not even know it is a thing. Look at China for example. Their internet is mostly blocked, but you can download a VPN to access foreign and blocked sites. It is quite easy to do, but more than 85% of the Chinese people doesn't do this
sex education is different from porn censorship dude. in addition to that, you can't just say that Korea shouldn't banned pornography. There's a cultural background as to why they have policies and the least you can do is judge based on a Korean perspective.
I agree something needs to be done about the alcohol. Especially considering Korea has the weird age system. Not weird, different age system which means people are drinking at a young age.
@@TheMelopeus Actually it is because the body handles alcohol differently for younger people and it's causing issues but not addressed because its cultural.
@@AteezheadlinesMAWAZINE I am not used to korean customs but here in Romania people make contact with alcohol from a young age is most families. For example a 10 year old may be given like 2 table spoons of something weak after a meal to drink with everyone else. I think it depens a lot with how people view drinking and how aware are they about it's effects. In Romania things changed quite a bit in this sense because drinking is not so much a way to show how big of a man you are. I have seen that people are quite aware to drink and driving and it has become a tabu for a lot of people. we still have more to change about this but I think we are going in the right direction.
I don’t know if it’s the subtitles or these interviewees in particular but I’m really surprised by how well they speak and express themselves. You’d be hard pressed to find people witch such a clear opinion of the subject where I live, and porn is legal here!! Great video👌👌
I'm sure they interviewed a lot of people and left out the less intelligent sounding ones, because this is intended for insight and education. Which is the opposite of shows like Jimmy Kimmel where they edit out the intelligent ones and leave in the stupid ones, because that's meant for entertainment, not education and insight.
The reason why Korea has made porn site illegal, that is because of women's human rights issues and religious values. Especially because of Christian values therefore it is not seen as a wrong law. And I'm sorry, but I do not know where your country is, but Korea will be as free as your country.
Lee Bruce But that directly contradicts the Korean Constitution that explicitly cites separation of the Church and State and what does women's rights have to do with watching/making porn. It's a video made by two+ consenting adults and viewed by an adult who's fully aware of what it is. South Korea, while it does have its merits, the nation and its system and law as a whole is backwards, obsolete and hypocritical. It's a Country that presents itself as a free nation but is tied too strongly with Confucianism/Religion and antiquated customs and hypocrisies.
Harry because alot of porn is NOT made under the basis of two+ consenting adults. and at the moment, there is no distinction between between the two. much of the older conservative generation, the law makers and those in power atm, do not believe there IS a distinction between the two either. like one of the interviewees said, things will change in 20 years at the most.
Watching this I couldn't help but notice how insightful, sensible, articulate and well spoken. Great Video and interesting topic . Well done , Keep it up brothers and Sisters !
Imagine believing that sex is so scary that you actually would think this way. "OH NO SOMEONE KNOWS I WATCH PORN!" Seriously, who cares? Why is so important to you?
If I was in the video, I wouldn't care at all who saw it. We are all adults here and should therefore be able to discuss subjects as adults. Sex being such a taboo topic is LAME.
"South Korea is known for its freedom" ... Hummm... No, I don't think it's particularly known for that. At least it's not at all the image I have. If I think about South Korea I'm thinking about a very conservative country which still bears many stigmata of the recent dictatorship. A country with a crushing pressure from hierarchy and social expectations, a country where workers are almost enslaved for endless hours, feeding an inflexible and immovable elite. The country of Park Geun-hye and Park Chung-hee, of the chaebols, and so on. That's the kind of things I would be thinking about, not freedom and democracy.
Like prostitution, porn is illegal in South Korea but poorly enforced as with pretty much most laws in Korea. I know Korea is changing and they're actually starting to enforce laws. But there are still red light districts in Korea. Even some where it's blatantly obvious what it is. Noraebang helpers, streetwalkers, businesses meeting prostitutes, etc, and the fact that a simple vpn can easily circumvent the block, or just knowing the direct link to any video, or that Korean paid p2p sites have so much porn on it, goes to show that the government really doesn't care about porn at all. It's more of a statement than confinement!
I have noticed that since they changed administrations last year (Park Geun-Hye to Moon Jae-In), most porn sites have become more easily accessible. I am guessing Moon's administration will get rid of the censorship within the next year or two.
I do believe it is focused on being a statement, rather than means of confinement whatsoever. And the statements are likely that the country is to be seen as puritanical, and that they seek to prevent pornography from being seen in a positive light by the general public within the country.
A lil update. Moon didnt change the governments approach to censorship. Most korean porn sites were shut down in an extensive raid and now most of them are gone. This is because there was somewhat of a public consensus of negative image around porn sites that were publicized in investigatory reports on television because some porn sites that dealt with illegal stuff tried to protect themselves in the name of sexual freedom. Even tho not all porn sites are like that this made the left be also conservative on the basis that it harms women which is a global phenomenon thats based on the wave of feminism. So the raid happened. So i think yes its a problem but only those sites should be considered illegal not normal sites. Also moon was surprisingly conservative in the question of mandatory military service so that didnt change either. But conscientious objections are now officially allowed.
Also yes people doing prostitution is surprisingly common but doesnt mean its not stigmatized. Celebrities who receive prostitution charges are still quite shamed. So thats a seperate matter.
Also not all "porn" in paid p2p sites are illegal per se as softcore porn that are shot professionally by actors that doesnt involve genitals are officially classified as adult content and get a 18+ rating. But amateur stuff or genital footage are illegal...
Although I'm not for banning porn, I don't completely agree with the idea that watching porn is like a right... Porn might not turn men into rapists, but it could definately have negative effects on the expectations and image of sex. Especially if the viewers are young. Porn is rarely realistic, and women are often being degraded and humiliated. Not to mention that porn actresses (not all of them) often slip into that line of work out of desperation, it's not a career that you would choose easily, and not one you would wish for anyone you care about.
Yes, you bring up difficult issues that all societies struggle with, but I think the usa has worked out the best solutions. We ban revenge porn and child porn, identify and track sexual predators, and keep most porn away from children, but if you're an adult, you have the right to see healthy porn. Also, I think we make most large porn producers have men wear condoms.
Fred Bone Ok, I'll make a stab at writing a carefully-worded tome that it might be hard to poke a hole in - but it would save me a lot of time if you could state your position so I can work around that. Are you gonna say "No porn is healthy?" cuz I give up already, no point in writing anything.
"Did you know that porn sites are being censored in South Korea?" "Yeah, I've heard about it." You *heard* about it, did you? From a friend, I'm sure. Buddy, please...
i mean is it really a big deal tbh, yeah sure they can try to censor it, but we all know that idols have spoken about watching porn publicly...so its all really pointless lol.
The guy answered the question perfectly when the interviewer said that supporters of the ban say that explicit content increases rape and other sex crimes. *Is there research to prove that point? There's not? Then I don't understand why they're saying that.*
Something I love about videos on this kind of topics is how people never say "I do this or that", but keep on putting a gap between themselves and the knowledge they got about the situation. It's a matter of keeping face that always comes up. Thanks for the video, Asian Boss!
It's not just about that loophole. The deeper connotation is that *banning porn directly contradicts the foundation of South Korea, which is (and I say this as I gag) democracy.* By banning porn, which inherently is not evil or harmful unless you follow a religious creed (which again shouldn't affect the law as separation of church and state), the Government effectively limited a person's right to create or view a production of art. Their reason is based on the ultra-conservative factually unsubstantiated notion that porn is harmful and can make children to be sexually perverse and evil. (which scientifically is not true)
I’m pretty sure you guys don’t know about Korea’s real situation. If women wearing bikini show up on TV, some people would say “How could you do that!!! It’s the sexual merchandising!! Stop it!!” Even-though It sounds weird but It’s true.
What do you say it is North Korea? Who says what comes out of a bikini in a pool or home shopping channel? Some older adults do not like it a lot, but they just think inside.
Not that long ago when I visited Korea in 1986 (I was 15 years old) not even the men wore short shorts. When I wore them I got some stares from young people to old and I'm a guy!
Even at the beach you don't really see Koreans wearing bikinis, mostly foreigners if you do see it. But even foreigners will try to cover up more to avoid the weird stares from Koreans.
Can’t show the top but they have no problem showing the bottom. It’s the boobs and stomach that scares them off. Lower half seems to be acceptable in most cases (reality, socially, TV.)
Being Canadian I'd feel my right violated if canada censored porn sites. Let's look at it this way, a man needs to watch porn to release his sexual frustration. When that is taken away from him doesn't that make him more likely to look for release in women. Which puts more women possible rape targets. Taking that away from them is cruel and uncalled for. But I do agree that they should censor child porno and revenge porn.
People should be managing their own households censorship depending on who lives there (like parental filters). The government should not be getting involved.
Prohibiting porn won't deter people from watching it, they're just making them more creative in accessing porn sites. Also, it's like telling a kid to not eat the cookies in the cookie jar. The more you say 'no' the more it's a 'yes' to them.
Actually, too much porn can *DECREASE* one's sex drive, especially if you become dependent upon it to the point where you can't sexually function without it. That's actually a big problem here in the US, and other countries I imagine.
damn, that guy who wrote a thesis on the subject actually kind of something haha, anyway it is a really good content asian boss! keep making a good content!
I am a Korean woman and I really don't understand why porns should be censored. I don't think oir gov has any right to prohibit such things unless when the video was illegally taken(i.e under-aged porn or when the video was taken without permission.) This kind of censorship suddenly made by our former president Park's gov and i am surprised Moon did not try to remove this censorship. Not only Korean man but a lot of women who is working on feminism are also not happy about this kind of porn censorship. The problem is, our gov doesn't really work much on crimes like revenge porns or rape(they don't really send a person who took that video and spread to jail) while they censor normal porns. If porn makes people rape so much, why Japan or Germany don't have so many rapists? In Korea, rapiests also get most generous punishment and a lot of them even don't go to jail but just get criminal record and freely able to go anywhere they want. So ironic. I didn't think it is really religional thing nor religious people worked on this but now i think maybe they really worked on this. Our protestants are about 19%, Catholics are like 10% and they are reducing both in numbers and % in our population so they had been making voice to show their power for a lot of issues like LGBT festival or their marriage, abortion. Btw : i graduated highschool at 2002 maybe things has been changed since we have conservative presidents like president Lee(a too much sincere protestant) and Park(ridiculous) after i graduated highschool but i think our sexual educations in schools were pretty much ok. They taught about safe sex, how to make a baby, how to calculate perioids, what is the procedure of delivery, what happens when people abort their baby etc.(i heard quite details about it. Korean gov actually didn't ban abortion until 2008. And govs before 1990s kind of persuaded/promoted abortion)
"Europe, for example, sells condoms in vending machines outside of high schools." How come I've never seen those lmao, I vaguely remember seeing those in Germany but not here in the Netherlands.
CrimsonMarvel where I'm from (France) every high school has condom vending machines from what I know 🤔 though not a lot of people use it I think it'd a really great idea!
I gather that SK is very conservative when it comes to anything openly or too blatantly sexual in the public forum. So how do they feel about idol groups like BTS wearing BDSM accessories as part of their costumes recently? Or are Koreans just not aware of what these items are or what they represent?
The government only blocks porn sites. But it's wrong to think that Koreans do not know anything sexually did not mention this video, but Korea is good at sex education too. they just feel a bit lacking in sex education compared to Europe It's illegal, but it's not hard to download porn video. The reason why Korea has made porn site illegal, that is because of women's human rights issues and religious values. Especially because of Christian values therefore it is not seen as a wrong law. Koreans know that this infringes on personal freedom. It's just a difference in perspective. However, it is true that there are a lot of people who are very worried that the Korean society will be sexually disturbed when the government does not block porn sites
You obviously haven't watched actual porn. Come on, you can't seriously compare what Kpop acts to with sexuality and eroticism with pure porn. BTS WEARING BDSM accessories is not the same as the actual ACT of BDSM. I'm sure some or many Koreans are aware of BDSM but its not the same thing at all.
moreshige Hahahaha - of course I was not comparing it to porn or actual BDSM! I think you missed the jist of my question. If Koreans are so conservative in their views of *public* expressions of sexuality, then how does that square with one of the most popular (and currently globally recognized) Kpop groups using accessories from a community that are considered not only sexual but also belongs to a subgroup that can arguably be misunderstood as harmful. But, you may have inadvertently answered the question. It sounds like maybe enough people don’t recognize those accessories for what they are. So, ignorance is bliss. Lol
Well, I think Koreans don't pay a lot of attention to BTS in that much detail unless you are a fan. And yes, I think the censorship authorities may not know too much about BDSM. If I remember correctly, I think there was a scene where a woman on a dog leash with a ball gag in one of Hyuna or CL's MVs. I guess you do knowingly or unknowingly touch on the point that Kpop in general caters to audiences/fans outside of Korea. Hence, you see the discrepancy in Kpop culture and what you see normally in Korean society. That might be part of the reason. The older generation would care less about Kpop today and even to a lesser extent, the wider general Korean public wouldn't know much compared to an international Kpop fan.
I used to be pretty pro-porn (not in the snese of like "you should all watch it" haha! But in the sense if it shouldn't be restricted), but, I feel less certain now. I'm conflicted. When looking at the societal impacts... And Western porn is just... Ugh. Idk. I'd like it if pornography was more responsible and if sexual politics were discussed and taught more critically.
They are so naive. Censorship is never good. Having a government deciding what you can see and not is wrong. We are all adults, we can decide for ourselves what we want to see and ignore.
I wouldn’t consider this to be curtailing personal freedoms, because pornography in no way represents ‘freedom’. Perhaps the performers in them, if consenting, feel free by it, and perhaps the people who access pornography feel free in doing that. But the effects of pornography ripple far beyond those who directly consume it. Society all around the world already has massive problems with viewing women as sexual objects for male use and pleasure, and pornography does absolutely nothing to fix this. It aggravates a problem that we should all want to fix. Pornography is exposed to many children on the internet, so I think censorship is a good way to solve this. As for adults, if they think that accessing pornography represents some kind of freedom for themselves, then I’d ask them to deeply consider their shallow view of freedom, and also the greater implications that this ‘freedom’ has on others- women who don’t wish to be sexualised in the same way as performers, children who don’t deserve to be unwittingly exposed to this, and the proportion of performers who are in the profession by coercion or lack of alternatives. I want a free society just as much as the next person. But that is hardly represented by accessing means for sexual gratification that exists in contradiction to many of the far more consequential freedoms of others.
Coming from a conservative country myself, and been living in other open-minded countries for a few years. I realized the lack of sex education and being bombarded by censorship in various ways, not just porn created so many twisted developments in human. I've been in Denmark and now, Germany for 2 years and they are no way near seeing sex or porn as taboo, yet teenage violent and rape crime are extremely low. What is the meaning of censorship ? Is it anything more than trying to shape a group of people into a mold called "social moral code", just to manage them easier? It is brainwash in a nutshell. Even seeing some interviewees afraid to answer some questions, making excuses for that they probably do watch porn but feel ashamed, makes me so sad. The so-called moral code has been ingrained into their behavior that even when no one is watching, they need to do what is "right".
I think it's pointless to censor porn or adult content when it was made to be sexually explicit in the first place. if you considere something is not worthy to be seen, or it's inappropiate why would you spend money, time and efforts to do it in the first place?
"The rights of individuals should follow the moral code of society." This is the main difference in western and eastern civilization. West: you>society; East: you
Why can’t they just make it age dependent like other sites or even things you sign up for? Where you type in your ID # (i-PIN) to confirm? It would at least monitor the age. One thing I never understood living there is the need for i-PIN, but it would perhaps be helpful in making these things legal.
I have no idea what I'm doing here, I never even thought of this question before. But I am glad that this video popped up on my feed one day before my final
Such sensible people! Well watching explicit content depends on an individual so it does concern an individual's rights upto a certain point but then again banning it like completely wont help either coz people are already familiar with its contents! Though some restrictions are necessary (age restrictions etc,) Also watching pornography isn't a problem the problem comes when it starts interfering with an individual's ideas about intimacy(like that girl said) So people themselves need to be aware of what is going on with them! It's not just Korea many countries are not open about things related to sex and intimacy it's understandable but i guess its time we need to start talking about it, starting with just a little can actually lead to a lot of changes in a good way!
As a Korean, I always feel like I am not fit in any stereotypes about Korean that foreigners have. 1.Eating dogs I've never ate any dogs in my entire life(I am 20 years old) nor my family members/friends. It's like Japanese eating whales if you wanna compare. 2.Plastic surgery I've never done any surgery on my face nor make up. 3.Porno censorship I watch pornos whenever I want without using vpn. I don't understand why foreigners think every pornosits are banned in Korea.(srsly where did they get that stereotype?) 4.Playing Video Games Of course I love playing games but I don't play as much as foreigners think. Plus I spend more times watching youtube and searching on the internet than playing video games.
The one guy in the black hat with gold on it, was just so knowledgeable and well spoken on the subject. I mean you gotta wondering what he’s studying in uni. ~ ^ㅇ^/
The thing I find funny is that they censor sooo many irrelevant things but then have middle aged men fawning over teenagers (both genders) and producers on national television confirming that they have created certain show (eg Produce 101) as a mean to provide “healthy porn” for grown men. The important should be to start team their men not to objectify women and treat them with respect and teach the girls to be able to protect themselves (like not subjecting to abusive/possessive men and not being afraid to say what they want and to openly talk about STDs AND condoms)
I hope they'd censor or preferably ban porn in the Philippines too. Cause a lot my generation has the highest percentage that got pregnant than those who are at the proper age.
Rights should never rely on social norms. rights are rights. society doesn't define them. that would be against the right of freedom. rights can only be added and not removed.
Japan is the second largest porn industry in the world and has the highest rate of prostitution in the developed world (1 in 20 women by national estimates). But yet they have the lowest birth rates. Porn is not sex education.
Ab Ab Japan has highest birthrate in category of developed countries in Asia, it's not 2005; also Korea has second largest prostitutes in the world ranked 2nd after venuzuela!
I am amazed to see the reaction of individuals coming from a country where porn is banned but having a very positive and educated response on the question being thrown to them.
I don't think there should be full censorship of adult content. I agree with a couple of views expressed in the videos. One man said that there should be selective censorship and I believe he also said that it is used as an outlet for sexual frustration. It's not always possible to have sex with someone. There are even people who have lost sexual abilities. Porn can allow them to be sexual without being intimate. Porn featuring underage performers should be carefully screened for and censored. There are so many flavors and categories of porn out there that it's not in anyone's best interest to censor much of it, if at all.
@@SuperAceguy I`m pretty sure there are 50,000 korean women travelling to japan every year to work as callgirls. That actually was in the news a few years ago as the korean government wanted to stop it. Unfortunately, it is still going on.
Well bans can actually increase sexual crimes, while people get more curious if they have no other option of exploring it. Therefore internet can help. Otherwise they can be more “proactive” in real life. In Europe where everything is legal are lower rates of rape and stuff like that than in countries in which you have so many bans. Only statistical thing that can change it is a scare of reporting an abuse. In Europe people have bigger trust in system than in, for ex. in Arabic countries.
Prohibition of anything usually leads to much more interest in the thing that's banned than if it were just ignored. I think that people should learn from examples in the past. Prohibition of alcohol in the USA grew crime syndicates and the prohibition of drugs caused the drug cartels if these things were simply ignored most people wouldn't even think about them. I know from my own experience that because of the media attention given to people like Keith Richards of the Stones, I tried heroin. I also had a really bad horse riding accident and was prescribed opiates but if it hadn't been for the media, I don't think I would have thought about illegal drugs. I would have got over my accident and lived a normal life but as it was, in the seventies the press were glamourising it and the fact that I had tried medically prescribed opiates I had no real fear of it and that's what messed me up till this day. I really don't think even if I had had the accident, I would have had any real interest in the stuff but it was forever on TV and in films so I, along with many others from my generation got on the long and slippery addiction road and you are never ever the same again. Governments should watch what they ban and also be restrictive on the way that media reports things like celebrities drug, drink and no doubt porn usage. I think if the media didn't build these bad habits up kids wouldn't even notice pornography, alcohol and drugs...they set us up for it. I think the dangers should be made public but not put undue stress upon any of these subjects. Kids will always rebel and often the more shocking the better so they should be careful with topics like these. Revenge porn is a completely other thing and I believe that there should be very strict penalties and people should be aware that they Will be penalised for using porn taken of an ex partner or anyone will result in jail or something equally undesirable. I don't think that in a good balanced relationship male or female partners would force each other or anyone else to copy what they have seen as it's mostly to do with fantasy and most people keep that to themselves unless they're in a really open relationship...I really don't think that's a relevant point and I agree with Thesis guy.
As long as it's not child porn only adult porn I see no reason why it should be banned. There can be a XXX rating for explicit and only adults. Can buy access to it.
I think there's definitely a problem with the legal porn industry - certain acts and scenes which are very brutal and dangerous for the actresses. They do it for money, and once you're in, it's not exactly like you can get out and get a regular job. And so they might be in a situation where they're forced to do things harmful to their body and psyche, which isn't really consent. There should be regulations, I think, everywhere, to keep it legal, consentual and not promoting violence against women. But to ban everything seems extreme.
i feel like people feel too strongly on this subject, im more concerned about what im gonna eat later. not watching porn isn't going to kill you or change your life in anyways.
censorship laws just lead to people going through more creative ways of getting around it. it's the same for drug bans or alcohol prohibition: as long as there is demand, people will try any and every way to get it. you need to provide resources and education to avoid people abusing these things, not simply censorship and legal punishment
Yeah, if you ban things most people want (alcohol, healthy porn) they will find a way around it somehow... Doesn't this attitude undermine "public morals"?? Sorry, but YOU CAN'T LEGISLATE MORALITY.
I wonder if that ban, impacts the rise of hidden cameras used on Korean women at bath houses, bathrooms and trains. Also the amount of older male fans of girl groups? Cause they aren't finding any visual sexual stimulation on sites they're trying to find it elsewhere?
Here's my theory lol First of all very clever initiative, the biggest human desire is sexual expression thus man and women will go to the pluto and back to experience the sexual emotion/feeling so the introverted peope will have no choice but use their full creativity and human intelligence to experience the pleasure. Kimchi + Mochi 😂✌️
Thank you for highlighting a very important issue that often gets shoved under the rug as an inappropriate topic in Korea. It is not easy for men to bring up this issue without being accused of perversion and his motives questioned so I appreciate that this topic was covered by a woman.
Korea has a conservative view on these kind of things, though I'm not Korean but Asian rather. There's a cultural difference between countries that we must see in a different perspective.
Is being a conservative country really an excuse? Because Japan is just as conservative and they have some pretty kinky stuff there, they only censor the sexual organs
Haha! Japan INVENTED some porn genres, like hentai, tentacle porn and bukkake! :) That's funny, calling Japan "just as conservative"... "they have some pretty kinky stuff there" is putting it mildly... :) The porn industry in Japan is HUGE!!!
But the difference is that the Japanese porn industry is massive and varied and it even delves into the weird stuff whereas in Korea, their porn is more R-rated or softcore movies with actual storylines.
I've been so curious about how they felt about this. Though I'm someone who does believe that porn does have some negative impacts, I don't think it causes rape. I find it ridiculous that porn is banned, but the red light district or the sex trafficking industry is booming right now. Even with a "crack down" it's still doing well. Porn isn't necessary, but neither is being in a relationship for the purpose of having sex.
I want Asian Boss to question to fllipinos about their singing skill. I wanted to know what kind of thing they're eating?? 😃 Cause damn i am always amazed by Filipinos singing.
It is because filipinos are doing karaoke! With occasions or for fun. We are fun people and singing in live audience is pretty natural to us. Well, the voice is great because of the waters.
Honestly I think it's good that it's banned in South Korea. These days, kids have increasingly access to the internet. Many elementary school students, even in rural areas of South Korea have smart phones and tablets. Seeing such explicit content at a young age may be traumatizing. Instead of unbanning porn, the better alternative is to improve sexual education in the country. Porn isn't a replacement for sex ed as it often shows unrealistic depictions of sexual relations, sexualization of minors, abuse, and lack of protection.
I agree education is the best but is using the threat of government violence (laws) to stop people from watching porn morally ok? Wouldn't it be better to just allow people to learn the pros and cons of their actions? Rather than saying you will lock them in a cage if they do something you disagree with?
In Korea, only low educated ppl see Anime n Manga.I heard that Japan killed 6 to 7 million Koreans during WW2.They are most evil ppl in the world.Watching Anime n Manga mean supporting evil power.Ban Anime!
@@vwgenera2918 Let me remind you that there were millions of koreans that are members of japan`s imperial army. Korea was also annexed by japan with the help of korean collaborators. The first invaders of japan were koreans from baekje and they conquered the ryukkyu ( southeast asian ) and ainu people. If you are a korean calling japanese "evil" then blame your conqueror korean/manchurian ancestry first.
I find it so funny that the one guy casually wrote a thesis on the subject 😂 Awesome 🙌🏾
He's prolly the one guy that really meant when he write comments on explicit materials that he's consuming it for research purposes haha.
Research purposes needs a lot of research...😂😂😂
That female interviewer tried to be a little prying asking why he knew so much about the subject and he nonchalantly said he was simply academically researching about it.
Nah, I just think he's a quick thinker, and came up with that on the spot.
Asian Boss is definitely one of the best (or even the best..) TH-cam channel about Asia! Keep up the great work :)
Un Pape San sauvage apparaît dans les commentaires !
damn en plus de koreen tu a un tres bon anglais! je savais pas!
If that happened in the U.S it’d be one of the few things to unite us to over throw the government.
Haha, this is too true.
rodom303 I am Korean and I watch pornos whenever I want without using vpn.
I don't understand why foreigners think every pornosits are banned in Korea.(srsly where did they get that stereotype?)
Csp Sk social media . That’s where most stereotypes come from .
Thomas McGill why is it bad m8?
Thomas McGill most of what youre saying is simply untrue and based off of ignorance and inexperience. Ive been able to sustain a happy and loving relationship for 4 years while watching porn almost everyday of my life. Its not porn its the person, everything youre saying is subjective and if you want to get spiritual there is nothing evil in this world this so called evil is a a way for us to learn and grow to become even more amazing and knowledgeable than the gods we already
Porn is just another one of the things we learn from and come to this Earth to experience theres nothing wrong with it we choose it or we dont and you have chosen to ignore its benefits and claim it to be evil and a source of corruption and so be it. It truly doesnt matter. Everybody is different.
You are always connected to god as you are god, never forget this.
"They" "Most people" Lol, they know they're talking about themselves.
Harold people without access to a device or the internet. Lol
crazyjak56
That was funny, I thought too "yeah, they, keep telling that, boy..." 😂
Valeria Vagapova actually you were right. I'm asexual so I don't care about sex that much. Tho I still find some jokes funny, as this comment was. But yeah, I sometimes get so tired that everyone assumes that everyone need sex. They tell me I'm pretending or lying or something like that. It is not cool when someone saying you are lying. I'm not, for me it is just not a big deal at all, I don't get why people pay that much attention for it.
Koreans talk in a more general way more often than not when expressing their opinions.
Censoring porn doesn't stop rape or sexual pressure in relationship, the only whay or truly fixing this is better sex education and teaching consent!!!
Yea, it was the worst thing about the video.
Millarca B4
There's been many studies that prove that porn rewires the brain and makes it harder for people to have real and meaningful relationships in their lives, it also can lead to sex addiction.
There are no proven scientific studies about the risks of wathcng porn as far as I know
Tess E moreover you're talking about one case out of thousands of millions people that watch porn
I like how the girls says, “according to our male friends...” for cover up BUT it’s just my crazy thinking.
@Josefina M.K
Yeah, If they Draft a Law i would like to see ShindoL be a First one who take the list.
porn =/ equal to sex education and people in korea watch porn anyway. and they have a lower teenage pregnancy rate anyway than the U.S where we have porn everywhere. so whats your point?
shalom1948hellyeah Thank you for educating me about that! ...So that's part of why it's hard for Americans to understand prudish Korea... That fundamentally changes my arguments about porn, and everything.
xxnike629xx
Porn is full of misconceptions and Dangerous sexualizing of young girls, rape, abuse etc!
Porn is absolutely dangerous and should be censored in my opinion.
We need EDUCATION not misconceptions and hyper sexualisation.
Porno site need to be censored 🤬 I found many child abuse porno many rape porno and many revenge porno in korea many women killed themselve for revenge porno and many pornos are males centerd in porno males abused women verry violently I saw the porno white male choke a blck woman and the black woman was screaming and Said yes yes yes
Wtf??????! That’s not a sex!!!! That’s the abuse
Western and japan porno describe the woman as a tool of sex being happy when they are abuse many porno make a verry wrong concept of sex
White males are fukkin crazy japan males are creepy
Respect women as a korean women if ma man whatched that fukkin shitty japan and whote male centerd porno I’m gonna fukkin kill him literally fukkin kill him
Koreans seem so smart, just read how they express themselves.. I would love to go there
@10312 채린 jh how do you know ?
We need sexual education than porn censorship :-0
Korea needs *A LOT* of education/help with sexual education and acceptance. (LGBTQ)
I never understand the notion that merely making things illegal/"unobtainable" will deter the action when the failures of abstinence, prohibition, etc. are so clear.
Hoàng Kim Việt amen brother
Daphne Baje I think it needs but it’s absolutely not for you to expect like Russia or sth.. haha don’t have sex?? I think they loveeee sex
When porn is freely accessible = whatever
When porn is censored = now i really want it
When something is accessible = whatever
When something is censored = it's illegal I want to know why it makes me curious I'm intruiged more to see what it's all about
Psychology
If you censor something more people will want it!!!! I’ve never really been into porn but banning is overkill 🤷🏾♂️
Cutie Zalbu "I'm not into porn" of course not. XD XD XD
If something is banned, a lot of people will not even know it is a thing. Look at China for example. Their internet is mostly blocked, but you can download a VPN to access foreign and blocked sites. It is quite easy to do, but more than 85% of the Chinese people doesn't do this
Cutie Zalbu
Weapons are banned in public in my country. Does it make people want more weapons? I dont think so...
Cutie Zalbu, you don't know what you're missing! =P
sex education is different from porn censorship dude. in addition to that, you can't just say that Korea shouldn't banned pornography. There's a cultural background as to why they have policies and the least you can do is judge based on a Korean perspective.
the same geezers don't control alcohol as much as this but that destroys many lives on a daily. its not my country so what do i know.
Drella true drinking and driving is quite popular in Korea. These things require more Immediate
Attention then people watching porn
I agree something needs to be done about the alcohol. Especially considering Korea has the weird age system. Not weird, different age system which means people are drinking at a young age.
@@AteezheadlinesMAWAZINE Is that so important?
"In Europe there are vending machines selling condoms outside high schools"
WHERE?
In France
mizuki yang Yes.. that's true
I thought only japan had that kind of wierd shits
in my highschool we even had the vending machines inside the school... (France again lol)
I hope there is something like that in my country, its really embarasing to by one lol
My take on the government of South Korea is "You are free but not really"
Andrew Zhoe sounds like every country lol
that's literally everywhere
The reason why Korea has made porn site illegal, that is because of women's human rights issues and religious values. Especially because of Christian values therefore it is not seen as a wrong law.
And I'm sorry, but I do not know where your country is, but Korea will be as free as your country.
Lee Bruce
But that directly contradicts the Korean Constitution that explicitly cites separation of the Church and State and what does women's rights have to do with watching/making porn.
VPN SON.
Well, you are not wrong pd.
Very insightful! I'm delighted to hear such intelligent answers from the participants!
Watching this I couldn't help but notice how insightful, sensible, articulate and well spoken.
Great Video and interesting topic . Well done , Keep it up brothers and Sisters !
Imagine being interviewed for this and then your damn friends sees you inthis video.
Especially if you're on the thumbnail lmao
“GUESS WHO KNOWS ALL THE STUFF ABOUT PORN?!”

"South Korea is known for its freedom"
HappySwedishPancake right on point
@@tomhannah3825 Define healthy porn...please be specific!
Fred Bone Ok, I'll make a stab at writing a carefully-worded tome that it might be hard to poke a hole in - but it would save me a lot of time if you could state your position so I can work around that. Are you gonna say "No porn is healthy?" cuz I give up already, no point in writing anything.
Oh Tom, poke a hole in.... state my position... are you gay?
Its kind of sad that people are even being restricted of something so private

i mean is it really a big deal tbh, yeah sure they can try to censor it, but we all know that idols have spoken about watching porn publicly...so its all really pointless lol.
Koala Rizo have watched porn publicly or publicly spoken about watching porn?
XTAYLORXBOYX publicly spoken about watching porn
Seungri lol😂
There was a video where someone was watching it 😂😂😂😂😭
BoKwang _Shine_Light no . They watched porn to jerk off . Just like every human male does . They masturbate !
The guy answered the question perfectly when the interviewer said that supporters of the ban say that explicit content increases rape and other sex crimes.
*Is there research to prove that point? There's not? Then I don't understand why they're saying that.*
There's no evidence or real research either way.
Something I love about videos on this kind of topics is how people never say "I do this or that", but keep on putting a gap between themselves and the knowledge they got about the situation. It's a matter of keeping face that always comes up.
Thanks for the video, Asian Boss!
I still don't understand why porn in Korea is illegal
Can't they just use VPNs
bruh most people only know how to turn the pc on and off
It's not just about that loophole. (which scientifically is not true)
way too slow using vpns in korea
Kang Kim VPNs are slow in S.Korea??
Porn videos can be downloaded as torrent files from illegal sites It is not difficult, vpn is not required Haha
the guy with the hat is educated and open-minded. korea needs more people like him.
Lee Bruce Expecially women dont like it Because of the feminism... stupid
What's your take on porn censorship?
They don't really need porn censorship. What they really need and what must be addressed ASAP is sex education.
That still depend on the said material though, as long they are not considered extreme.
That one guy in white shirt was a little over shy I wonder if he was embarrassed by those questions.
damn, that guy who wrote a thesis on the subject actually kind of something haha, anyway it is a really good content asian boss! keep making a good content!
asian boss asking the real questions here
I am a Korean woman and I really don't understand why porns should be censored.
Generally the opinions and answers in this vid were "educated" and solid im impressed

Edit: And very informative video, as always!
But it's wrong to think that Koreans do not know anything sexually
did not mention this video, but Korea is good at sex education too.
they just feel a bit lacking in sex education compared to Europe
It's illegal, but it's not hard to download porn video.
The reason why Korea has made porn site illegal, that is because of women's human rights issues and religious values. Especially because of Christian values therefore it is not seen as a wrong law.
Koreans know that this infringes on personal freedom.
It's just a difference in perspective.
However, it is true that there are a lot of people who are very worried that the Korean society will be sexually disturbed when the government does not block porn sites
thats just pure fashion there. I seen those harness around China here and people just think its cool. never knew it was related to BDSM
Most likely they don't want kids to access it. Here in Malaysia, it's as simple as changing to Google or Cloudflare DNS to bypass the censorship.
I think it's interesting you have to justify asking critical questions so as to not appear biased
I feel bad for South Korean guys ! Peace brothers - I hope things better !
It is not difficult to get it all with a torrent Haha
Josh Oyen good then hahaha ! I thought they couldn’t access it at all !

Lee Bruce Even torrenting SFW stuff is hard, let alone porn in a prude country.
I don’t even care this is 5 months ago, but it gives some real problems. You never watched any so you don’t know.
I wonder who got the job to find all those sites 😂
"So honey...what did you do at work today?"
Such sensible people!
Well watching explicit content depends on an individual so it does concern an individual's rights upto a certain point but then again banning it like completely wont help either coz people are already familiar with its contents! Though some restrictions are necessary (age restrictions etc,)
Also watching pornography isn't a problem the problem comes when it starts interfering with an individual's ideas about intimacy(like that girl said) So people themselves need to be aware of what is going on with them!
1.Eating dogs
I've never ate any dogs in my entire life(I am 20 years old) nor my family members/friends.
It's like Japanese eating whales if you wanna compare.
2.Plastic surgery
I've never done any surgery on my face nor make up.
3.Porno censorship
I watch pornos whenever I want without using vpn.
I don't understand why foreigners think every pornosits are banned in Korea.(srsly where did they get that stereotype?)
4.Playing Video Games
Of course I love playing games but I don't play as much as foreigners think.
Plus I spend more times watching youtube and searching on the internet than playing video games.
do you have Instagram?
The one guy in the black hat with gold on it, was just so knowledgeable and well spoken on the subject. I mean you gotta wondering what he’s studying in uni. ~
^ㅇ^/
"I recently wrote a thesis on the subject"
I'll have to start using that line...
My heart would just drop if I know i am being watched!

Government: Makes nonsense statement
Scientific dude: I'm about to end this man's whole career
Rights should never rely on social norms.
rights are rights.
society doesn't define them.
that would be against the right of freedom.
rights can only be added and not removed.
Freedom should follow the moral code of society? Sounds like the complete opposite of freedom there BUCKO
Trevor Schmidt Productions I was thinking the same thing.
Pauline G yeah but when there are rules against doing something that doesn’t harm anybody, then that is infringing on their freedom.
Trevor Schmidt Productions I don't want Korea to be full of ethic immorality like West
Thank GOD you'll never be in charge.
Thomas McGill as long as your freedom doesn’t infringe on the freedom of others.
Very Insightful +
"One's rights must be in harmony with society's morals" that's my type of thinking, i like your thought boy!
"Society's morals must be in harmony with one's rights" is more my type of thinking.
Oh I'am sorry if u didn't know, porn is censored in India also even torrent sites, it's not only for South Korea
Japan is the second largest porn industry in the world and has the highest rate of prostitution in the developed world (1 in 20 women by national estimates). But yet they have the lowest birth rates. Porn is not sex education.
It seems like Japan is just increasing consumption of tissue.
Ab Ab Japan has highest birthrate in category of developed countries in Asia, it's not 2005; also Korea has second largest prostitutes in the world ranked 2nd after venuzuela!
Anko ueno Do not lie. Everyone knows japan is the capital of porn.
Ab Ab Google'
I am amazed to see the reaction of individuals coming from a country where porn is banned but having a very positive and educated response on the question being thrown to them.
좀 질문할때 어조를 신경쓰세요. 왜 자꾸 질문하면서 어조를 바꿔서 사람들을 몰아가는 식으로 질문하나요? 이게 한두번도 아니고
The irony of having the fastest Internet in the world, but only being able to watch Kpop vids as a substitute and then frequent your local brothel.
springbay1 well They do have largest number of prostitutes in the world, ranked 2nd after venuzuela; so
The opposite irony in the Philippines. The largest social media users, among the top visitors to PornHub, but also the slowest internet in East Asia.
SuperAceguy there's many sources! U don't need to trust me; check it out urself
SuperAceguy lol, denying reality
" Yes I heard about that" 🙄
Prohibition of anything usually leads to much more interest in the thing that's banned than if it were just ignored.
Yeah, im doing my daily reasearch for my thesis too...
Yes some people always want banned fruit but others just couldn't care anyway.
I wonder if that ban, impacts the rise of hidden cameras used on Korean women at bath houses, bathrooms and trains. Also the amount of older male fans of girl groups? Cause they aren't finding any visual sexual stimulation on sites they're trying to find it elsewhere?
Girls: "We are not familiar with it..." sure...😏
"the rights of individuals should follow the moral code of society" theres your answer.
If there's a will, there's always a way. Censorship or not.
Thank you for highlighting a very important issue that often gets shoved under the rug as an inappropriate topic in Korea. It is not easy for men to bring up this issue without being accused of perversion and his motives questioned so I appreciate that this topic was covered by a woman.
Richard K Korea's view towards sex as a taboo topic is so lame......
I tested this out when I was in Korea and it’s definitely a way to get around the “block” lol, they don’t do a good job in blocking the sites
Watching porn is a waste of time. I dont see how this is a big deal.actually more countries should block porn sites
Censoring the sexual organs is worse though. LOL. Those little black bars are insanely frustrating.
@Tom Hannah, just proves that censoring creates a vacuum that gets filled with.... tentacles. No, senpai. No.
moreshige tell me Why south Korea ranks 2nd in highest number of prostitutes in the world! Xd
Arya Stark probably bcuz of church chore effect
Shalu Rawat hmm yeah that can be cause church is one of the opportunity to worship and lead in front of many people.
Karaokes everywhere that's why
It is because filipinos are doing karaoke! With occasions or for fun. We are fun people and singing in live audience is pretty natural to us. Well, the voice is great because of the waters.
Another secret is that we eat mini ants
i know it's unpopular , but i like how preserve korean culture is , it has this pure maiden vibe in it
Honestly I think it's good that it's banned in South Korea.
In Korea, only low educated ppl see Anime n Manga.I heard that Japan killed 6 to 7 million Koreans during WW2.They are most evil ppl in the world.Watching Anime n Manga mean supporting evil power.Ban Anime!
vwgenera so?
I really agree with your comment!
