exactly!! Soloists and DKs in general can do a whole lot more than just metal...If you want to play instrumental music...Jackson's are amazing...thick and smooth and they can also sound super dark and smooth
I bought the USA SL2h that you see as my thumbnail back in 2003... what an incredible guitar... and yes all of the American made soloists are neck through.... Dinkys are bolt on.... Would not trade or sell mine for anything... plays as good as it did the day I bought it... I have had it re-fretted once and have a guy that sets it up for me. Would recommend these to anybody with the cash to buy one...
I agree with you bud. your guitar eventually will sound better and worth more as long as it ages in good condition. no matter how many times you re-fret it. don't you ever rid of that jewel!
My next Jackson will be a custom shop solist 6-string with the JB4 duncan bridge p/u a sustainer system with a duncan classic stack next to it. Original floyd. Glow in the dark shark fin inlays magenta burst, gold hardware, pearloid tuning keys, mahogany body, quilted maple top, ebony fretboard. I figure it will cost $6k. Gonna take some time to save it up.
the magenta with the tiny aluminoid inlays make a tasty choice...leaning towards that over a Charvel, EVH, or Ibanez. the neck through, graphite, and ebony make it the best in class...
Thanks so much for this style of demo. Everyone who reviews guitars like this one always jumps right to the distortion. Some of us want to hear the guitars sound clean as well as dirty. Thanks again, and keep it up!
I like how this guitar has more than doubled in price over the past 15 years. No seriously! I bought the same guitar in transparent black in 2004 for $1,300. If we use average inflation as an indicator, this guitar should be roughly... $1,750! What could have caused this massive increase in price? Was it the fact that the Jackson guitar factory moved from Texas to California? Was it the fact that a soulless corporation like Fender bought them out? A combination of both? Hard to say. (It's currently priced at $3,000 by the way.)
+Dallas LeGassick I am in central PA and really didn't expect CL to work out.. I searched CL as a shot in the dark and found the soloist nearby. Took 2 weeks of email but it paid off. Seek and you will find!
I got my SL2H used from GC. It was in excellent shape. $800 only !!! I got my dream guitar finally. I did however have problem with the volume knob position so I moved it out of the way. But I love the neck and fretboard. I sold my KV-1 Mustaine on ebay for only $2K. I probably could have gotten more.
Dear Satan.., Please accept my soul as a trade for the skill to play like this. I’m trying so hard, I’m so close and about to give up.... Please Satan, please accept my soul for trade.
saving money nowadays is pretty hard. I have my 2 very well set up Mexi Strats and a very early copy of the Jackson DKMGT(hardtail). The Jackson is from when Jackson was still building their lower end models in Japan the build quality was perfect before years of countless jamming and gigging. Have Dave Mustaine pups in it and it is awesome even now. Downside to the Jackson is in my opinion the neck is as stiff as a wet noodle. Change string gauges and I have to break out the truss rod tool. One day I dream of a natural finish DK-1
I don’t know how to fix the horrible clean Jackson sound...maybe they need an extra single coil... because I love these guitars because are so versatile... but the clean sound...my god...
Too bad fender fucked up the Jackson guitars , they don’t make them like this anymore, I have this guitar but mine I bought in 2002 for $1800 with the hard shell case new
gibson and fender should get out of there, and schecter makes pretty much the best bang-for-the-buck guitars out there, and that's coming from a jackson fanboy.
jackson had the sharkfins long before ibby tried to copy them with ther "sharktooth"... also grover jackson was building super strats way before the RG was concieved. the soloist is at least 4 years older than the RG, and the dinky is even older still.
What is wrong with marketing nowadays? Private stock, private reserve blablabla. Come on, if it's private, get it off the channel. Don't show your private here. =P
I think if you make review, you MUST know how play and control guitar. Here full of beginner mistakes, it's reason why notes don't have correct sound, but sounds like somebody hitting goat into a balls with baseball bat. Part with distortion in riffling sounds better. You must play with toe if pick
I love that this demo isn’t all just Heavy Metal. Yes, soloists are great for that, but in truth they are extremely versatile!
exactly!! Soloists and DKs in general can do a whole lot more than just metal...If you want to play instrumental music...Jackson's are amazing...thick and smooth and they can also sound super dark and smooth
F3ck u! Jackson are done to heavy metal!
what changes is the captors.. just because jackson have an agressive headstock ,doesnt mean you cant play every stuff on that
I have the Sl2H in left handed, snakeskin, I use this guitar to play Funk, Soul, Ska, Rock, Metal, Cumbia. With Split coil is very versatile.
The most soft and lovely sound out there.

a dream guitar indeed!

graphite? i thought the usa made soloist doesn't come with the graphite.
Thanks so much for this style of demo. Everyone who reviews guitars like this one always jumps right to the distortion. Some of us want to hear the guitars sound clean as well as dirty. Thanks again, and keep it up!
I have had one of these from more than 10 years and I love it.
He's playing to Marty Friedman's Angel changes at 2:50, from the end of the song
Musician's Friend always has the best guitar playing when it comes to demos and reviews.
The reason it's so easy up the neck is due to the compound-radius fingerboard, originally developed by Grover Jackson.
Just a lovely fabtastic guitar, I own one, just can't praise enough . (Sorry for sloppy english)
best guitar ever
Damnit man! Some Awesome playing!
I like his lead play
Great soloing.
I want this guitar :(
I Love It Jackson, COLOMBIA YEAH
Nice guitar!!
Really nice man , both the playing and guitar
A really beauty Brian!
When will they put back the volume knob on the USA models? They've done it on all others already!
Man this guy can rip on a guitar!!
I have an entire guitar collection , but find my jackson USA the easiest and most forgiving to play , which in turn gets played the most .
U should be in a band sir
Nice jams Brian. Have a great day yourself.
I just ordered this same exact one yesterday.
I want one of these !
How much is this guitar?
I want a Jackson custom Soloist or custom Dinky with Floyd Rose as my next axe unless I score a deal on a used Anderson, Vigier or Ibanez J Custom.
Did you end up getting one ?
I own one on that very same finish, will never ever sell it.
sick colour man
beautyfull guitar
Brian, Is there anything you can't play like a master??
if its alright if you guys do a guitar its the Legator PATRICK SOMOULAY SIGNATURE NINJA 350-PRO GUITAR - 2016 Purple
What models have these models been? I have one but, I don't know what the model is...

It’s bullshit
This shouldn’t cost more than $2000.
Masterpiece!
2:08 = megadeth easily.
I was just about to comment how similar to the Rust in Peace tone it is with that JB in the bridge
Not rlly, Rust in Peace had light but very punchy distortion, this is a little more drive
Excelente...
How much?
Ty Dieu I think these are around 2400 bucks
Wow i love you
WOW.
It's a beaut.
Ahh... Daisy Berkowitz's guitar.
Seymour's always deliver...you can put them on a broomstick and they sing like Caruso...
hmmm ya baby
May i ask what kind of distortion or processor effects are you using? I am looking for that clean juicy sound with a little crispiness to it.
Good thing made in America only costs $2,400 + tax...
Picked up a stunning SL1 cherry burst for $900 on craigslist.
I'm in the market. Thank you for the hope for a CL jewel. Seattle area is a little dry.
+Dallas LeGassick I am in central PA and really didn't expect CL to work out.. I searched CL as a shot in the dark and found the soloist nearby. Took 2 weeks of email but it paid off. Seek and you will find!
Ebay is a good place to check out. I bought a gently used KV2 a couple of years ago for $1800. Brand new, they're around $2400.
I got my SL2H used from GC. It was in excellent shape. $800 only !!! I got my dream guitar finally. I did however have problem with the volume knob position so I moved it out of the way. Ok
That's hard to listen too
gonna throw out a price guess-$4,500 ish right? Ka-boom!
lol yep but worth every penny bro.
I have the same guitar, same color but left-handed that I bought from a Jackson dealer in SC. It was $2,200.
saving money nowadays is pretty hard. I have my 2 very well set up Mexi Strats and a very early copy of the Jackson DKMGT(hardtail). wow! An entire year later and the green machine in this upload is still one of the most awesome Jacksons I have seen...
ninjacheckmate if you ever want to sell it I am your guy
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Have a great day. 😂
I don’t know how to fix the horrible clean Jackson sound...maybe they need an extra single coil... because I love these guitars because are so versatile... but the clean sound...my god...

Getting some slash vibes from 1:25 🤘🏼
Really ?
I'm hearing Slayer and Metallica straight off. And maybe even slight Dimebag in the clean... A little satriani too
The rhythm stuff 1:59 definitely sounded more like Megadeth; probably even more so due to the seymour duncan pick ups and quite possibly the amps too.
daftmou5s well Marty Friedman did use a TB4 in his bridge
Also of course a nice healthy dash of Petrucci in there too, especially in the cleans
Igual a do Marc Snow
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
オレはEMG
1.55 Megadeth sounds
I don't like Jackson's guitar but this guitar I loved when I see it, I'm honest.
Why not?
Jackson, Vigier, Kramer, Charvel, Gibson, Fender > Ibanez, Schecter, ESP
gibson and fender should get out of there, and schecter makes pretty much the best bang-for-the-buck guitars out there, and that's coming from a jackson fanboy.
This thing basically looks like a ibanez rg with a jackson headstock... Everything is same including the fret inlays
jackson had the sharkfins long before ibby tried to copy them with ther "sharktooth"... also grover jackson was building super strats way before the RG was concieved. the soloist is at least 4 years older than the RG, and the dinky is even older still.

Worst demo ever.
Worst demo ever!!!!!
