Mathew is Matityahu. John is Yohֿanan (pronounce the h like Hֿava = Eve in the video) As for the rest - they aren't Hebrew. Those are not from the original Hebrew bible. At the time these books were written, a lot of jews in Israel had Greek-origined names, and the ones you mentioned fall into that category
Yirmi'yahu Zechariah (pronounce the ch like Hava = Eve in the video) I never heard jamieson, as far as I know Jamie is a very distant anglic derivation of Jacob
Fascinating hearing the pronunciations. One of my sons is Nathanael but people always anglicise it. Can I ask if Eli is Elleee in sound why do people say rabbi (ra-by) and not rabbi (ra-bee)? Thank you.
How is "Beulah" pronouned in Hebrew? We have one pronunciation in Spanish, and Americans pronounce it a completely different way in English. I want to know what the original pronunciation is. Thank you!
Thank you for the wonderful video Dan; it's greatly appreciated. I have a question if I may! The name Samuel in hebrew would appear to have various spellings, (Shmuel Shemuel and Shimuel). I appreciate that Shmuel is most commonly used but Dan which would you say is the most accurate of these three variants? I am leaning towards "Shimuel". I very much look forward to your expert response Dan. Thank you once again.
@@DanielBergman99 Thank you Dan. I really appreciate your getting back to me. Blessings upon blessings wherever you are, today, each day, forever and always 🙏

God gave me the name Hollywood as my “new” name. What does this mean or signify? I’ve read silly stuff online. How to pronounce it? Why Hollywood? So weird. 😢
No, no, no!. This is another poor "How to..." video. Here is a man with an American accent "teaching" Hebrew pronunciation. Is it OK for a person with a strong French accent to teach English pronunciation? He does not know which syllable is accented in each name, and pronounces many Hebrew vowels and consonants as though they were the closest American English letters. Really! A Hebrew Resh is not an English R. Holam is not an American long O. Emphasizing the correct syllable is very much part of correct reading. Try saying Anthony: Is it AN-to-ny, an-TO-ny or an-to-NY. Only one is right. Note also: Aaron in Hebrew is misspelled and correspondingly mispronounced. If you are not particularly good at something, PLEASE do not make instructional videos.
