    If you’d placed that tomato sauce with the chopped sausage in a hot dog bun and topped it with shoestring fries, you would have basically made a Brazilian-style hot dog

    Appreciate you calling out Big Hot Sauce, in an attempt to get what you feel is best

    The only thing is was the hotdogs pork/chicken or all beef. While I have never been a fan of all beef franks I do love pork/chicken ones. Best if they are natural casing...

    Today's video has so many of the fantastic elements I watch these videos for: humor, creativity, curiosity, and Barry's personality. I love it. Kudos, good sir. Kudos indeed.

    Something I intuited when I was 8 years old and the babysitter made us Sloppy Joe's... upon my first bite wherein the content schplooped everywhere onto my Mr. Spock T-shirt... cheese would make everything OK. A good melting cheese will hold all the goo together. That was true back then when I was a little carnivore (Kraft deli American)... it was true that drunken college night where I served up the Oklahoma onion burger version (pepper jack cheese!), and true in my vegetarian adult years when TVP is the goo and Tillamook white cheddar is slice that's right.

    The strangest part to me was 25 minutes in the pan. (In July!) Wouldn’t you get the same result in five? Anyway, good one. Thanks Barry.

    This would be absolutely the best on a rainy July 4th! Enough for everyone, and I'm sure a crowd pleaser---just make the hot sauce a personal addition. Some folk can't even handle Frank's! I happen to hate the under/after taste of Tabasco. Heat is not an issue, but the horrid persistent taste-----EEKKK!

    Well hello! That Frank's flavour hasn't made it to the UK yet but you bet I'm going to stalk the American candy shops that are all basically money laundering fronts, charging massively over the odds for everyday imported items for it!
    You see, Frank's? You're encouraging normal folks like me to support organised crime. Do the right thing. Release the sauce.

    You left out what I would imagine to be Mettja C. Roate's most important cookbook, "Casseroles and More Casseroles"

    I'm waiting for the day you eventually get around to trying a classic for German Americans: The braunschweiger and onion sandwich! Usually the plus up is mustard but it's not necessary. It can be an acquired taste to some, but I love them!!

      @stephenphill8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I have always loved that combination. I always use mustard and like mayo too.

    I assumed from the title this would be like a chili dog but with sloppy joe mix instead of chili.

      It was one of my wife's favorite dishes… Sloppy Joe on a hot dog.
      BTW, cooking tip ...when making Sloppy Joes and a slurry of half a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of water into the meat before cooking to keep it from falling apart on the bun.

    My mom made something similar, but it also had minced bell pepper in it. McCormick, the makers of Frank’s Red Hot, originally released their Old Bay hot sauce as a limited edition, but it is now in full production.
