    My psychologist said I had bipolar 1 at first, because I had just had an intense manic episode. We quickly realized I wasn’t having full-blown manic episodes, but the reason I had it so intense that time was from the SSRI I was on before I was diagnosed. So I have bipolar 2.

    • @themindfulminimalist2567

      That makes perfect sense. Antidepressants are known to do that. All the more reason why proper diagnosing of bipolar is important.

    Hey! Someone else with dysphoric mania!
    I would give anything to be euphoric the whole time I'm manic.
    Like a car with no breaks. Racing thoughts, amplified senses, and fast talking. I get going so fast, the only way to slow down is panic attacks. Not fun.

    The hospital didn't say whether I have bipolar I or II.

    • @themindfulminimalist2567
      @themindfulminimalist2567  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My psychiatrist did, but I've heard that not all do. It's just a classification based on your symptoms of mania. At the end of the day, it's all bipolar.

      @@themindfulminimalist2567 I might have type I, because I had psychosis at the time. I only became bipolar after my children were born, so that's also hard to diagnose. I don't have to take meds now. You can see my videos about my experience on my channel.

    My sis was diagnosed with bipolar back in 2012. She was on meds for almost 2 yrs.also she was suffering with hypothyroidism.then we stopped her medication except the thyroid medication.now after 8 yrs she got hit with manic attack again & she attacked my mom. She wasn't under depression but still she got hit with manic attack.she could see mirror images & think herself as a powerful person, these were her symptoms. She is fine now, but i was wondering how many years will she undergo treatment.her doctor said she will be under 2 yrs treatment.what after that? Whats your story? Are you totally dependent on meds?

    • @themindfulminimalist2567
      @themindfulminimalist2567  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! I am so sorry to hear that for her. Each person's journey is different. I know of people who felt better after their first medications, and I've also had a psychiatrist say it can take 7 years to find the right one.
