She made this only 1/2 an hour over the time limit on her first try while recording. You are a legend.
Also, I’m sure the actual shop takes more shortcuts than she would have. Making up big batches means things go quicker, they probably buy the macaroons, and shortcut whatever else they can. They wouldn’t have to make the ice cream every day.

@@katherinemorelle7115 yeah some.. but macarons don't keep too well. The price is mostly justified.
@@GigsVT macaron shells and most kinds of filling keep very well frozen, over 1 month at the least. Most places that don't make their own probably receive them from suppliers this way.
This £99 cone shouldn't be worth more than maybe a fifth of the price including the labour of assembly.

Poor Dave. He tastes some odd things. But Anne does cook some great meals for him and the boys.
He doesn't have to eat yucky stuff all the time.
There's no way that they make the macarons every time. Also, they probably have more than one person doing a job. So the fact that you got so much done (whilst having to swap out the caramel pans) all on your own in a little over four hours is nothing short of impressive.
Plus she had to make enough for multiple servings, meaning things must’ve took longer to chill and stuff.
She should divide the time she spent by the number of cones she made since the following ones only took ten minutes.

It's pretty, but it doesn't sound like those things go together AT ALL. To me, caramel, chocolate, manga, passionfruit, ginger, the white chocolate & caramel thing, the macaron... just way too much going on. I don't get why anyone would ever pay $200 for that O_O
Now, just the homemade salted caramel soft serve, I'd take that in a heartbeat.
I thought exactly the same thing. I would be quite happy with a bowl of freshly churned salted caramel ice cream, topped with some of the candied pecans. 😋

This is a commonly used descriptor for macaron batter, I've seen tons of different recipes that use it as a comparison

The separate elements look pretty nice but it seems a bit much on one cone, could be inconvenient to eat. But I appreciate the effort it takes to make one.
Yeah I mean I would have to eat it with chopsticks and a plate do like deconstruct it all and then eat it. I feel like If I just took a big bit it would fall all over the floor.

They didn't say it was lucklustre, they said it was good, just not worth 200 dollars lol. Even amazing ice cream isn't worth 200 dollars (especially a single cone), because that's a ridiculous price. And to be fair, almost anyone would take a fullyfunctional speaker and a simple but delicious ice cream cone over good but overpriced ice cream. There's no competition (and it was clearly a well worked in ad spot!)
I can just imagine the boys hearing loud bangs from the kitchen, and thinking “oh I guess mums making macaroons today”

Hmm I disagree. imho this icecream is really rich in flavor. It's one of those desserts one can enjoy without netflix or music. Just slowly savor the taste.

The things I find unecessary are the decorations. The chocolate spoon, the macaroon, the flakes, the diamond whatever they are called the things on the cone ..... like, what's the point? Why can't someone just enjoy the taste of the icecream and the sorbet alone without all of those things? Personally if I'm eating icecream I'd like to enjoy it on it's own same as if I was eating macaroons or chocolate or something else.

I made the mistake of saying that I love dark chocolate (meaning it enhances the taste of fruit, cakes, basically that it's the best topping) and for years people have been buying me blocks of really bitter, dark chocolate. For eating chocolate I now definitely prefer milk. As a topping dark is still the go to. White chocolate does well with certain things but the flavour isn't too strong so it's really 'special interest'. Ironically I'm gonna put some white choc in my apple-cinnamon muffins for tomorrow's Halloween party 😉

I’ve been watching you for years and years but I stopped for a while as I’ve been super busy with college and working but I’m so surprised at how grown up your boys have gotten! They are wonderfully polite and so well articulated and intel lei gentle. They are a credit to you and Dave! 😊

@SeriousName I don't want or need this. When I have a dessert at a restaurant, I just want something simple, tasty, and well-made. In this case, a bowl of creamy freshly churned salted caramel ice cream with some of the brittle on top would be enough.

It's the ultimate sign of empty hype food. In this case, the salted caramel, mango, ginger, pecans, chocolate, all can create a delicious dessert with lots of taste and depth, but nooooo, to make it fancy they have to put on the damned sugar diamonds and tasteless gold leaf. Urgh!
Gold on deserts is just so dumb, you can literally taste nothing and Ur eating and just shitting it out, if it is just for looks just go with some glitter gold instead!

Anne is the only person that would be truthful to the timer. Masterchef and other youtubers would edit it to seem they made it on time.
One contestant said she stuffed up in her cooking and she went over 1 hour overtime in masterchef but they edited to seem she made it within the timeframe with her stuff up....
I admire how smart she is when it comes to this stuff (and lots of other things too! She's a fantastic researcher!). She's like a food scientist. She knows how things work out and what happens if you add this to this or do this to that.

@borkdogey well considering she’s a child with a life long illness, I think it’s actually quite impressive for her to show so much motivation and enthusiasm for her exercises. From her videos I can tell just how positive and energetic she tries to be and I think she deserves to be rewarded and treated for her efforts.

A koeksister is made of fried dough, infused in syrup. Kind of like a twisted syrup doughnut.
Malva pudding is some kind of caramel sponge cake that's usually served hot with custard.
