7 months later there is the same thing with R6 - not charging with PD powerbank while camera is on. Camera works from wall charger via typeC. At that moment it does not use battery (not shure if it charges battery in this time, will check). @techandvideowithmat - how you've done it?
I checked and it works. Each charger charges the Canon RP but the usb c cable is important - I use the usb c cable from Xiaomi 11T phones added with the charger. This is some kind of unique cord and charges the Canon Rp with any charger or laptop.

Cameras are being 💀 by smartphones exactly for these kind of reasons. Canon could easily enable normal usb charging but they want you to pay for that 500% markup charger and therefore make the camera worse by design.

That camera model is outside the scope of my knowledge; however, I have a few ideas. Is the battery going bad, is it a generic battery? Update the firmware. Try charging with the memory card in it if you’re using a computer. Try charging from different sources, like a power bank, usb wall charger, and a computer. That’s all my thoughts. There might be a problem with your camera if none of that works. Hope it starts working for you.

I have not experienced a blinking green light. It’s always been solid. Having said that, I haven’t updated to the most recent firmware. Little things like that could potentially change with firmware updates, but I haven’t heard anything.
I so wish they’d taught us useful stuff like watts amps etc in school. I remember so much absolutely worthless information… and as an adult I would say a good 50% of what I was taught I’ve never come close to using (I’m being generous).
Yes you can. I couldn’t get it to work with my usb outlet, but I used a sub-c to usb-c from my asus g14 laptop, and it was charging. It does 100W max PD, for reference. I didn’t bother to test if it charged while using it.

It's a little weird because I have both the RP, the R8 and the R5.. I also have a 25-watt wall-mount charger and the exact same Anker battery pack that you're using in the video and none of them work on any of the cameras

Hi! No you can’t view the content on your Canon mirrorless cameras by directly connecting the camera to your phone. You can connect your phone to the camera’s WiFi easily. While it’s connected, you can view the content on your camera with phone. You can download pictures directly to your phone too. I haven’t tried doing that with video because I shoot with Clog, but you might be able to download videos made with a standard profile on the camera. You can also operate the camera with your phone acting as a remote control. It’s pretty handy. Cheers!

I use my samsung charger, but I was confused why every time I plug it in, I get a green light. I didn't know that's normal. You would think that it would be red but no 😂
I don’t know how many watts are needed to power and operate the camera while plugged in. I use a 20 watt power bank to charge the battery on the R6 while it’s turned off.

To clarify. The R6 can be powered by and operated while plugged in, but the battery won’t charge while you’re using the camera. For example, somebody could plug it in and shoot a really long timelapse (longer than the camera battery alone would), but the battery itself would not charge while they are using the camera.

Found out that my 3rd-party batteries can´t be charged, switched back to the original Canon batteries and it worked fine, with powerbank or with any other power device.

I've used the Anker products for a few years now and like them. This was new to me, and will be beneficial for keeping my R6 II charged.
Same with me and my R3. Anchor, both for cigarette charger 100 W in my car or a USB charger 100 W and it takes less space than the original Canon

Actually you don't need 45W. 27W is what you need, and I work on 30W no problem with both R7 and R6 Mark II.

You cannot hurt the camera by trying to see if it works.

I have read that you need a powerbank that can deliver 45 watts (45PD) through power delivery for the R6 to run from a power bank.
This will help, just got the r6 m2 and wouldnt let me charge it with two batteries in the lower hand grip.

Only works on the LP-EN6H batteries. Doesn't work if it's not an LP-EN6H battery.

It only charges the battery while the camera is off.

Very few USB-C to USB-C cables don't work, so you should be okay. If not, the cables are super cheap.

LP-E6 can't be charged but LP-E6n and LP-E6nh it can
Firmware Update worked for me on the R. Now it can also charge LPE6n
LPE6 always worked. The support for LPE6n was added in the Firmware update
Found out that my 3rd-party batteries can´t be charged, switched back to the original Canon batteries and it worked fine, with powerbank or with any other power device.
I have used my Lenovo laptop charger for R7 and it worked. 😀.
