Hey there! Mistakes happen, and it's all part of the journey. After being on the diet for over four months, I slipped up too and ate something off-plan. I did a 2-3 day fast to get back on track. During a 36-48 hour fast, the body begins a process called autophagy, which starts to break down and recycle damaged cells. This natural reset helps clear out toxins and can improve overall health.
I dont think 3 days is enough for autophagy. Peter Attia mentioned it. It has come from studies on mice, but they die in couple of days not eating. I remember 7 days being starting point for autophagy.
@@pillow4casestudies Sorry everything I've seen on the internet suggests it can start as early as 24 hours. Depending on the person's metabolism, glucose and insulin levels.
That’s awesome! I’ve been a Jason Fung fan since he started doing podcasts back in 2019 or so. I’ve always been fascinated about the potential of autophagy to help prevent Alzheimer’s. I’ve already been showing early signs of dementia for a few years, but I notice it gets way better on carnivore.
I would encourage you to keep a journal of everything that is going on and share this with your doctor or nurses so they can help guide you through this. Good luck Wave!~ You can do this! Kuruppo! And never forget, somewhere in Japan there is a small Pigeon who loves you Po!
Fairly long time subscriber here. I somewhat ironically started a low carb diet about the same time you did. I have started augmenting my diet with an in crease in my workouts (mostly walking). I hit a plateau this week and am feeling the same frustration. All I can tell you is that there are a bunch of your fans that are rooting for you to succeed.
I really appreciate this Sherrie! Plateaus can be discouraging, but they always pass. You’re still doing good things for your body! Thank you so much for the encouragement! 😊
Same here. The last time i had such brain fog, all i could do was to watch tv all day. Unfortunately, it hits us harder because body hasnt used to glycose. Perhaps you have read some studies on alzheimer, how insulin resistance may be in brain as well. Ketones help the brain get energy.
Sorry to hear that buddy. Think about this though. Get back on track and see how you feel. It could very well be that your body is saying WTF. With your off day, it might have sent you right back into your "normal" state, that state where you don't know what you don't know. You don't know that brain fog, and dozens of other issues, like the ones you mentioned, is not normal, until Carnivore gets rid of it. Don't let this set back discourage you. It might be as simple as a reaction to you going off Carnivore. This should really encourage you to double down on sticking to Carnivore. YOUR BODY: "Wave, did you not learn anything in the last two weeks. I had to remind you why you are Carnivore. Did you get my message? Stop messing around and I will reward you." If I slip up and eat a bunch of carbs one day, I start feeling like crap within just a couple hours. I still think if you go OMAD, you will feel even much better. I am so used to OMAD now, I never get hungry. Unless, I'm not busy. But then I just do something and I forget about it. You are used to eating by the clock, not when you're hungry. I have always had to pee every two hours, and have discovered that you can train your bladder. Going every two hours was making it worse. Within two days I was able to hold it for 5 hours. Same thing with OMAD. Just have to train yourself mentally. Only takes a few days. If you feel you have to eat breakfast, which I don't agree with. at least switch to beef sausage, in lieu of pork.
Got the day wrong again 😂
Hang in there.
