On the scale thing, this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. But I have 2 suggestions for you. Either hide the scale or weigh yourself everyday. Weighing yourself everyday can be beneficial in that you don't get shocked, you'll where you stand on a daily basis. Or just hide it. Check your BP daily and don't be afraid to look in mirror nekkid. That often tells the tale better than a scale sometimes. Good luck buddy! You can do this!
Hi Wave. 4lbs is minimal, your body is still adjusting and I would expect your weight to be up and down for a while. The blood pressure is more important right now the weight will come after. You know how you feel so if it feels right stick to it. I have no experience of carnivore myself, you could never afford it in the uk. There is nothing wrong with being upfront with people about your dietary needs. I would prepare some food to take with me you can always add from any meat the host has prepared. Good luck !
I think it will help you to talk about your experiences and missteps so openly in public here. That alone requires a good dose of courage and you can be proud of your achievements, such as your blood pressure in the 120 range! Yes, we humans make mistakes, but we are not failures! I hope you get rid of this thought quickly, because I'm sure that would also help you build the mental strength you need to achieve your goals. Even though I know how it feels to have little or no self-confidence, I'm not so presumptuous as to think I can give you any good advice for your situation. So all I can do is keep both fingers crossed for you. Keep your head up, you CAN and WILL get through this! 🤞🏻🍀 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. This could help you too. If you are already exercising, good on ya. If not, exercise can really help you and it doesn't have to be painful. Just starting with 10-15 minutes a day can mean a lot. Start slow and gradually work your way up, don't feel like you have to run a marathon. Even making sure you take a 10 minute walk each day can be beneficial. If you can do more great, if not, no worries, it's a start. It doesn't matter what kind of exercise you do, it's more important that you do something. Bike, walk, yoga, weights, swimming, you name it. Whatever you enjoy doing. If you can manage to do just 10 -15 minutes a day for 2 weeks, you'll find that you are in the habit. Again, don't push it, it doesn't have to hurt. Take it slow and steady, even if it's just a 10 minute walk. I hope this helps Wave. Don't despair, you'll be fine even with the occasional slip up. Drinking lots of water can help too. It flushes out your kidneys and tricks your stomach into thinking that you're full. Just keep trying and don't give up. You can do this. It is easier than an Akane drum pattern LOL! Hang in there Buddy!
Don't beat yourself up. "We"re on to Cincinnati," as we say here in New England. Every day is another opportunity to get it right. Enjoy the new smoker.
Hey Wave sorry to hear you had a rough weekend. After 5 months on this diet, I found either eating before going out or bringing my own food. Letting others know you are on a special diet is another idea. Wave you learn best by making a mistake. You still got this and just remember why you started doing this diet.
Three steps forward, one step back. Don’t worry about what other people think of what you are eating, the people that love you will encourage and support you. Stay positive, maybe time for a drum stream. ❤
Hey man, don't get down on yourself. This is not an easy process. don't beat yourself up. Just learn from your mistakes. And don't be afraid to tell people no. It's tough in big settings like weddings to keep on the trail, but do what you gotta do. In your situation, it's okay to be selfish. If people don't understand, that's on them. I've had BP issues for 25 + years and it's still a struggle sometimes. It is great that your BP is down, that's definitely a step in the right direction. I'm not sure if it's the same BP med, but I was on metropolol (I think that's it) for a couple years and it really gave me problems and eventually I ended up in the ER. A cardiologist told me to stop taking that one and I've been much better controlled ever since. Lastly, don't be afraid to ask for help or to let your doctor or nurse know what you're going through. The more info you give them, the better they can help you. Lastly, We know you. You are a good, solid, righteous Dude of the highest order! You're a good guy, not a bad guy. Don't ever forget that. You got this! And never forget - somewhere in Japan is a Small Pigeon who loves you Po! 🕊❤ Kuruppo!
Charles. You are awesome! Thank you so much for the wisdom. That really helps. 😊 I appreciate you man. And yes, metoprolol is what I’m on now. I’m sorry you had issues with it but that’s good to know. It’s definitely the one I want to get off of first. I’ll talk to my doctor about it. Thanks again!
@@wavepotterwellness No sweat Brother! I was on a similar med to metropolol but they ran out. I was told by my pharmacist that that med had a reputation for side effects. A couple years later, sure enough. Rapid heartbeat that wouldn't stop and I didn't waste time, ER. Once I stopped that, things got better. I'm on 2 BP meds. Lisinopril and Amlodipine. They work pretty well for me. But everyone is different. If it's working for you, cool, but if it starts giving you issues don't wait for it to get worse. And talking to a cardiologist can help too, it's their specialty. Good luck Wave! You go this! I hope we can meet up at another Okyu-ji! Kuruppo! Moe! Moe! Kyun! Kyun!
OK, you knew I was going to research this. And I know if I give you an idea, it will spark you thinking and you will run with it. This video explains exactly what you're going through right now. It says you have everything backwards, and it makes sense. She is kind of saying what I was ranting about. She says “Our mindset needs to change before our behavior can” Dr. K says “Doing stuff is not how people change, it’s what it looks like after you change.” People change, then they behave differently. You, like everyone, have it backwards. Change your mindset first then you can change your behavior.I'm sure she has a lot of other videos that will help. Don't be so hard on yourself. You F'd up. Move on, just get out of the habit of this being a pattern. Preparation is definitely a large part of doing this in public. Most people will make a comment when you first tell them you're carnivore, then switch the conversation rather quickly to some thing else. Back up plan. If you fail to prepare, or get surprised, you have to right then decide you are having a fasting day. As you know, eating OMAD is a great thing, not a punishment! You have to forget about wasting money. You will have to waste money to be carnivore. Again, if you don't want to waste money. Then fast. You are actually saving money by not spending anything. If you go away for the weekend and are unprepared, you don't have to grab crap, there are things you can find in a grocery store, or even in a convenience store that will get you through your crisis (boiled eggs, meat sticks, pork rinds) , OR you are fasting for the whole weekend. You are going to a wedding, not camping in the deep woods. There are stores you can stop at, even if you stop for gas. You are making decisions to go off track. Make decisions to stay on track. Get in the habit of always having 7-8 boiled eggs in the frig. You can grab them as you're running out the door. Have a fanny pack or backpack ready to grab. Keep a bag of pork rinds in it and meat sticks in it at all times. Kind of like that "baby bag" you had when Rosie was pregnant, in case her water broke....lol Not the best, but it is for when you are unprepared and 90% better than chips, twinkies etc.

Everybody fails, that's what we do. You just get back on the horse or eat it. Lol getting ready for the gym.
My opinion shall you receive it, it sounds like you'll need to assess going off all the meds. Get back into it 110%
That’s my goal!
