He studied English in university. He has a Bachelor's degree in English so I kinda knew he will be fluent.
Also, my sister told me that the guy is really smart because some ojisan where she works with know him personally. They saw him grew up and often tells her it's a shame he pursued acting instead of some 'decent job'.
It's not about speaking in english. Sometimes it's just hard speaking in PUBLIC 😂

As an English speaker, I don't really know what he is looking for.
Food sample that he mention means fake food. It's made from clay. In Japan, fake food usually used by restaurants as promotion or something like menu list so the customer will know the visual of the food. This way better than just picture because Japanese food sample are super realistic. Tourists usually buy them for souvenir.
