I think you should ask Billy to check valve clearances as it sounds a bit "tappety" and make sure coolant is filled with 50% antifreeze mix. Also, check there is a bit of oil in carburettor dash pot.
He has done thanks for advice 😊
I think this pair may need all the guidance you can give them.
@@peterwilkinson4508 a bit condescending that remark wasn't it TROLL.
@peterwilkinson4508 what do you mean "this pair"a bit of condescending remark wasn't it,I suppose your an expert ,right?
The old car that drove past is a 1929 Ford Model A Tudor. Good clip Matilda !
Well done 👍 good knowledge that 😍
Thanks. I'm no good with any cars of that era. The top hat era, to me.
@@labrador-fx3fb no I didn’t even recognise the make 😂
That Young lady makes me smile 😊bless you people 🏴
Thanks 😊
I just love her enthusiasm..... It's so refreshing to see....
Thanks 😊
A car from my childhood your Princess, your enthusiasm for this wee car knows no bounds.
Thanks Paul 😊
Loved the 'bonding moment'. When you pass another classic, no matter the make, everyone waves, it's great!
Even getting that with our 20 yr old Micra now most Micra drivers wave at us 🤣
God's own County - grand! Poor old Billy can't compete with your enthusiasm!

What a happy and bubbly young lady. Enjoy your car it's beautiful

What a wonderful video there are two classic things in this video the Princes Vanden Plas and that picnic set how charming and you are a wonderful host
Thanks Les glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
I'm a big fan of classic cars from this era, and it seems you've got yourself a tidy one. Love your enthusiasm too. Thanks for sharing.
Yes she is very tidy, thanks for watching 😊
Yes a Ford Model A imported from the States. They were imported into England through Trafford Park Manchester.
😊
Thank you for sharing your "first time out" I am English, from Weardale, now living in Greensboro North Carolina. Seeing the moorland almost brought a tear to my eyes.
Ahhh glad you enjoyed it 😍
With your infectious enthusiasm and joyful outlook on life, the love of old cars and appreciation of your countryside, I wouldn’t be at all surprised with how many young lads are completely “twitterpated” with you and only wish they knew you in person.
Tell your brother to hand over the reins to Princess.
Great video!
Thank You I am glad you like the vids thanks for watching!
Great film probably the best you tube I have ever seen 👍
Yayyyyyy thanks 😊
So very nice to see, a young lady in love with a classic, well looked, after car. Hope you keep up the love for classic cars.

What a terrific day out. The scenery is beautiful and the vintage picnic just topped it off. Great to see you are enjoying Princess.
I’ve waited ages to use that picnic box 🤣
Watching you and your Princess made my day. My dad bought a Morris 1100 new in 1967, I learnt to drive in it Best wishes and happy motoring from Australia.
Thanks, you and you also!
Just beautiful. It helps that the countryside is so picturesque.
It is a lovely area 😍

@@matildariverwaldennews I am watching also from Australia. My classic car is a Leyland P76 made in Australia by Leylands. They were never popular but are now very rare and I enjoy owning one.
@@davidrobertson376 that sounds good I’ll have to have a Google of that model
@@matildariverwaldennews I think you will enjoy the Leyland P76 story and the reason Leylands attempted to enter the Australian large car market and then why such a good car failed. They had the same good quality of the Princess with comfort and handling, just larger and more powerful.
The exuberance of youth & your princess does look good 👍
Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed your bonding time with your beautiful little car in a stunning countryside, wish it was me you lucky girl.❤😅😅

Wow, I had one of these in the late 70s in plum color, what a great little car it was, a very comfortable car to ride in too, loving the enthusiasm.
Thank You 😊
Lovely car. I had one very similar . It was an MG version , the same body and luxury inside. I was seventeen at the time and I paid £85.00 for it .
I drove it until the floor under the drivers seat began to touch the tarmac.
It had rotted away and the car was soon consigned to scrap.
I love your enthusiasm for classic cars . Keep it up , I haven't lost my enthusiasm after 40 odd years .
Thanks for sharing your story David 😊 I love classic cars 🚗 😊
The Golf GTi of its day, pretty much a Cooper S engine.

Sweet video!, my dad used to fix these cars in 70's when he ran a small motor repair business in an old barn beside the Union Canal by Lanark Road in Edinburgh. My first car was a Volkswagen Derby, I learned to adjust the ignition points on it.
Thanks for the comment glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
Really nice car, and lovely to see some great countryside, an old picnic set and some smiling faces! My Dad had a couple of Austin 1100s, and later he bought a brand new Morris 1300 back in 1968, they really were great cars, our family loved them!
Glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
Hi Matilda, I've just found you on you tube , I watched you looking over the post office train at Hellifield . I love Princess, my dad had a 1300 like her but not the luxurious "vanden plas"model, I also watched bangers and cash team restore one for re-sale recently on Yesterday channel on TV (May 2023) . I had a Morris 1100 back in the 80s. Great little car. The leg room was amazing. Love your excitement.
Thank You 😊
This is such a great little motor...
From the period where BMC actually built cars that worked.
Was an mechanic apprentice from 1973-1978 @ a BMC dealership so I have fond memories of the 11-1300 models.
They were actually called the Marina in DK, the Mini was the Mascot, and the Landcrab was the Monaco.
(When Morris badged, as Austins they had the UK designations..
Thanks for watching and thanks for your story 😊
Learned to drive in one of these and last weekend bought a 1969 Triumph Vitesse that drove from Glasgow back to Kent with no bother at all. Got to love a classic. 👍
Definately 😍👍
Another great car, always liked the Vitesse
Beautiful car! I hope you can drive it some day. You live amongst some beautiful scenery. Greetings from Arizona, USA.
Greetings from England 😍 as long as we can afford, we have no plans in selling so hopefully we will still own her when I’m old enough to drive 😍

Lovely classic motor car and your delightful enthusiasm for classic motoring is hugely endearing and sweet. I wish you many happy miles and years with 'Princess'. Great to see the younger generation into classic cars, never owned a 1300, but worked on many, did my mechanics apprenticeship 1970 to75 with a Ford main dealer so most of my own cars were Ford, my mates car is a 1937 Ford 10, and its still going strong, rescured it from a farmers field 20 years ago, Loved the video,

Wow, what a lovely car in classic scenery. That Grill, that walnut dash I can see why it is called a Princess. It brought back memories for me Matilda because those cars were about when I was your age back in the 1970s. I enjoyed your video of picking up your Princess so much, that I had to tune in for your further adventures. That is a proper picnic kit. Your Princess is a beautiful car, I noticed the reaction you got from the older lady as you first started driving - she must have memories of seeing Princesses years ago. You may have taken a leap of faith in the auction bid, but by all accounts this has been a well loved and cared for car that should give you years of motoring pleasure. Best wishes.

I wish you well with your Princess, my uncle had the manual version of this from new. The smell of a new car with real leather upholstery and real wood veneer was amazing. He used it daily for over twenty years, and guess what I learned to drive and passed my driving test in it.

Those tappets should be fairly quiet - there's some adjustment needed there! Loved the period hat and the little drive out. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Watch the rust but these were well built with lead loaded seams, not sure about the b pillar door edge alignment though, need to get it sorted if possible. The other not so big upgrade, if not already done, is an electronic ignition instead of the points originally there. The little Princess does look good though, well done!
Thanks for the advice 😊 glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
HI Matilda, As young apprentice back in the early 1970's I can remember these cars very well, not to many Princess though mostly 1000 and 1300's they all had a good ride, a bit to soft for my liking, I preferred the more sporty Triumphs and Jaguars of the time. Its great to see a young girl so interested in classic cars, cars that I grown up with, I bet you can't wait to be older enough to be able to drive your car, still it will give you time to get to know your car and understand the it better, so when it goes wrong you will know how to fix it 😀
Thanks John, yes I can’t wait to drive her 🤗👍😊

Never had the Princess here in Australia but we did get the poorer cousin, the Austin 1100. Unkindly nicknamed land crabs as the rear suspension would quickly flog out under aussie conditions and everyone you saw was crabbing down the road!
