Glad it can help ya Bryan! That's the main reason as to why I started the channel. To help other modelers take a step they wouldn't normally take on their own. To give ideas and guidance in making those steps (cuts) into the world of kustomizing.. Enjoy hackin'!!!
Excellent video. I especially liked to see that even someone as yourself with years of experience can have a blade jump a leave an unwanted scratch. Thanks for all the great tips. Dave
Thanks for watching! Blades jump on the best of all of us, luckily it was covered or cut away. Also had another shield if needed which luckily I didn’t need.. lol
about the gaps in the windows... if one has started to kustom a 1/25 scale kit and ends up with gaps around the pillars trying a 1/24 scale of the same window might help as that will be slightly bigger .
I usually do most times. I score it with the edge so it doesn’t track then use the back of the blade. Just to caught in the video and didn’t think to do it.. lol
Very informative Vids great work. I am looking into chopping the top of a revell 1970 plymouth roadrunner for the USACC group build can you give me any pointers? Thanks
Looking great as usual Doc! Can't wait to see this one completed. Have you thought about taking this one as a build in progress for tonight?(I'm watching this at 3am Saturday morning) see you tonight.
Thank ya much Joe! I haven’t thought of that, lol not much to look at this part of the build though.. I’m up at 4am “Just got up” to work on my Potbelly!!
A very informative series Doc. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I am planning to chop a 40 Ford and found this very helpful. BG.

Have you tried making sanding dust with the plastic then mixing it with super glue to make a filler for the wide gaps?
This is a great series. I want to chop tops now! Have you ever trimmed the clear plastic with a dremmel?
Curious why you dont use the knife blade upside down to score...takes out a good swath of material.

Something you could try with the windshield is warm water in the ends to make them closer to the A pillar and bend with your fingers
I haven’t wanted to try it in case the glass snaps in half. Have you tried it with success??
@@DocsKustomKorner52 Ya 5 or 6 times! As long as not really old no worries!

I always back-blade when I'm scoring an edge.
I have not got any notifications from TH-cam. I thought you left. I just looked and I missed 17 videos from you.
That’s a bit weird! I know another viewer says he subs and when he leaves TH-cam it unsubscribes him!! Weird juju
Glad you’re back though!!! Lol
Stretch spruces cut and fill
