    Hi Koos, very informative. Myself being exiled in a way from home(RSA) have relocated to Taiwan. Have a wonderful family and getting by well. Still very proud to be an SA expat from the past. What you bring up in your chat here, I tried to find common ground issues here in Taiwan. The SA expat community are seeming very happy and at ease here. The only issue is the ever increasing probability of confrontation with China. I’m still not sure if I’ll come back to SA if war breaks out… as the China issue there is something I can’t accept. Did my service in 82 to 84. Besides my old home(SA)… Taiwan my new home. Willing to carry on the fight for TWN.

    Thank you very much for sharing your honest and genuine thoughts along with all the time and effort you have invested in Legacy Conversations. Having been born in S.A. to emigrant parents during the later part of the apartheid regime (1970) I can relate to your experience in Switzerland. After completing military service at Danie Theron Combat School (SA INL S/ SA INT S) I left ASAP with no doubt in my mind that a constructive, peaceful and healthy life would not be possible for the peoples in that wonderful country with its violent history but That.Is.Africa. As the saying goes: In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king and if everyone believes in an eye for an eye we will all end up blind. Best wishes to all.

    I was going to greet you in Schwein German Koos, good thing I listened to the end. They pulled that fashion on me too, Polizei, Gemeinde, blah blah, I got news my mom is on her last and now would be the time to go home, November 2012, I was on Basil land but worked in all the kantons family reunification and work then permanent residence, I was there for 3 years. The only way to mess them around was to speak and write retroromanisch. I have honestly met good people there but they were all from USA Turkey Australia and if a ch citizen they were married to a foreigner and disliked the Swiss themselves.
    After I got home I spent my time with her till the 15th of February when she passed peacefully.... I emptied my Swiss Bank account and stayed in SA , they are miserable, abrupt, weak.
    Bangat. Elke huis het 'n shelter, elke man het 'n geweer maar geen oorlog kennis, ek het Hoch Deutch geleer by Migros skool en dit maklik gevind. Vinnig gevorder omdat dit na aan Afrikaans is. Hulle soek my seker nou nog 🤣

    I am glad you said an eye for an eye, I believe 100% in that. Then this word "forgive" is the word of the coward that is what I believe and I have lived that way my whole life. I could not believe the day I heard parents forgive the murderer of their child!!! That was the American parents of Amy McBiel, if I spelled it wrong so be it. She was an American working in South Africa.

    Koos, what is the big deal about having a Swiss bank account?

    • @LegacyConversations
      @LegacyConversations  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Money laundering. You can wash criminal money through swine banks and get away with it because of their greed. Basically they are a people that sold out to the god of mammon and proud to be so. Thus the swine banks are used by all shysters, terrorists, gangsters, dictators, and tax evaders. It never occurs to them that human beings paid and is paying in blood for the money that they enable. The human misery leaves them cold, cannot care less about that aspect. Koos

    The reason for the stupid questions is that they then have something to change you with if you lie about it.
    First world countries have a solid reason to have tough entry requirements. So many people overstay anc are expensive to deport.
    I agree the USA military developers are poor. SA especially performed well, making better systems faster than USA did. Eg. The G6 system was developed faster than the USA equivalent and was way, way, better.

    • @dewalddempers4357
      @dewalddempers4357 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Stockwell explained why we hade to develop the G6 in a short time....

    • @Custercounty01
      @Custercounty01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yet the G5 and G6 was begun by acquiring a secret US long range canon system through Israeli companies, and then optimizing it. Please dont claim that ZA sucked it out of their thumb... Very much like how ZA got their first nuclear reactor, by Israeli agents stealing plutonium from reactors in the US.. You better believe it, this was written about in the mid 70s already.

    • @cccmmm1234
      @cccmmm1234 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Custercounty01 No it wasn't a secret US system. It was a Canadain system. This was just for the original design of the barrel and the damper system.
      What really made the G5, and later the G6, unique were the parts that were added by SA - especially the design of the gun carriage on the G5 (and also the entire vehicle system of the G6). There were other improvements such as the muzzle brake etc too. All these things came together to make a vastly superior artillery system that can be operated by less people, deployed faster and further too.
      There is much more to an artillery system than just the gun too. SA developed new modular base-bleed ammunition that was vastly superior to previous base bleed ammo on the market. SA also developed new types of weather balloon tracking equipment which was vastly superior to what others were using.
      Much of that artillery system is still being sold - 40 years after it was first designed (sure, many parts of it have been improved).
      Similar developments happened in many areas: vehicles (such as Ratel), aircraft, anti-aircraft systems, rifles, medical procedures for casualty care,... the list goes on.
      This is an extremely impressive track record for a country operating on a tight budget, tight time constraints and sanctions.
