Ted Talks Gravel | Essential Gravel Racing Tips From Ted King

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 31 ต.ค. 2019
- Whilst in Vermont Jeremy caught up with Ted King, former WorldTour pro cyclist who has now turned his hand to racing gravel. Ted's won Dirty Kanza twice and a heap of other big gravel races, so it's fair to say that he knows a thing or two about how to ride off road. He shares his insights with Jeremy whilst on a quick bike ride around his home roads.

Best pro interview I’ve seen on this channel. Thanks
Best TED talk ever.
That was the single best gravel howto video I have ever seen. Some outstanding tips from a true pro.
I was about to write this exact comment.
Awesome interview. Could easily have enjoyed 60 mins of these two just chatting about bike stuff.
Time to sign Ted, GCN.
He would fit right in. He spent time on the Cervélo TestTeam.
This seems like one of those videos where they test run a potential new presenter, especially since Jeremy is the only current Usonian presenter.
He has his own channel. It's great, you should check it out.
Love J. Pow's rides with all these notable athletes. Keep it going, Ted is a legend from his rides with his dad, the years with Cannondale, and all the dirt race exploits.
TK seems like a good guy, and he's a beast on the bike. Great interview.
Ted rides in our local group ride Tues nights in Vermont often. He’s the nicest guy! So modest and down to earth!
( BTW bunch of us routinely get dropped by Ted )
Not only the King of gravel but also the King of talk. Never seen a video with JP being so quiet
Creative editing ;)
Great interview with both Jeremy and Ted offering so much and shining in this beautiful autumn weather.
We need more videos like this from GCN! Awesome!
My two favorites with a ton of knowledge, talent and the ability to entertain us. The best gravel video I have seen, hope that this means there will be more in the future!
For me that has to be one of the best interviews I’ve seen on GCN and on gravel riding. Well done and thanks for the great info.
I would have liked to given this two thumbs up - one of the most information-filled videos I’ve seen in a long time. I really enjoyed it - keep up the good work.
Fantastic vid - saw Ted King post he had done this and knew it would be good. It was better than I expected. Genius - JPows is a pro at this.
Jeremy is awesome. Thanks GCN for helping share American biking culture to the masses!
Having someone who focuses on crits would be awesome as well! I know there arent necessarily "crit specific" bikes like gravel/cx but having a crit-focused presenter would be amazing for those of us in the US where crit racing is trying to keep cycling relevant in america!
A bike becomes crib specific when someone who weighs
I did an interview with Ted at unPAved 2019 and all I can say is he’s one of the nicest, laid back dudes in the business.
Greetings love from Northampton, Ma. Love that town, great to hear you guys are from New England. Yankee at heart.
J-Pow.. your interviews are always on-point! This is another fine example. Great video!
A bucket load of great info right there! Thanks GCN and Ted King.
Thanks for the awesome video, being from Burlington Vermont, this a trifecta for me Vt, Nh and Mass represented, once my afib is corrected going to try to ride Ted's fundraiser. Keep up the great work Jeremy
one of the best gravel videos out there for sure - thx guys!!!
Ted is rad, been listening to his podcast lately. Worth a listen (especially the Eric Marcotte one). Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely enjoyed this. Thanks a lot for this.
really enjoy jeremys chats with the big guys - more please
This is one of the best videos to date, you cats in the US are really hitting your stride. Great soundtrack on this one too! Thanks people!
The soundtrack was very Stranger Things inspired! Loved it!
Good video yet again from Jeremy......as for Mr King......? Brilliant and hats off to him....
Awesome job JPOW, I can tell your picking the tunes for the vids sweet jams.
Ted King is fantastic. Very open very honest and very helpful with sharing his wisdom. Great video GCN.
Very nice, a pleasure to watch! Makes me even more wanting to take out my gravel bike at the weekend.
Thanks soooo much for this great input...I’ll watch this several times to get all memorized 100%
Love to watch Ted he is such a great rider. The music was also pretty awesome.
GCN productions are sickeningly awesome.
Amazing interview. Tons of useful info. Congrats
Great content. Funny to see Jeremy with another New Englander, a good illustration of how much more animated Jeremy is than most folks around here!
These guys just make me smile. Fun video!
Ted and J Pow - great combo and super interesting. And just a little irony to run across this the same day as registration opened for Rooted Vermont 😉
That is the most AWESOME saddle bag I've ever seen 😍
gravel cycling network , love your content guys keep it up
Fantastic video from 2 pretty cool riders, fall looks awesome over there in 🇺🇸 those trees! loved it 👌
We are not worthy of such amazing content...thank you as always GCN.
Great to watch our New England guys having a ride and chat.
Fantastic interview. And always enjoy Jeremy’s videos.
Hey, this guy beat me at SBT GRVL by only 5 and a half hours, so I don't know why anyone thinks he's an expert.
Right on my heels!
Bro you almost had him !
@@TedKing1 mind sharing what tool roll that was under your seat ? Looked nice and compact
Best segment thus far, thank you J-Pow and The King....more vids like this please!
Thanks Jade!
🤜🤛🚴🇺🇸 - GCN needs to interview Colin Strickland in a future episode!
J-Pow + Ted = Amazing, love this video.
Great stuff Jeremy! Thank you for your awesome videos!
THAT. WAS. AWESOME. Please and thank you for more like this.
We had a great time making this video with Ted - really glad you enjoyed it!
Thats some proper content right there. Ted King always comes across as a great guy and again J-Pow providing the goods as the host. GCN just keeps getting better
Thanks Angus.
This is the kind of video that makes me love cycling.
Great discussion and gorgeous scenery. I miss New England... sometimes.
Great format. Love the ‘ride and chat’ bit
Best. Video. Ever. Great job guys!
Great video with Jeremy and Ted. Very well done GCN!
Thanks John
I have a feeling we're gonna be seeing j-pow at Dirty Kanza this year
Those gravel roads are incredibly smooth. Am super jealous. The roughest bits were the equivalent of my smoothest bits.
Gravel riding seems to be a bit different in the States than Europe. I guess we have a lot of semi paved farm roads and a lot of riders who want to go for miles and miles on them.
@@ronbyers9912 Gravel varies a lot just within the US. Here on the opposite side of the country in Oregon, you can find anything from smooth dirt roads to gnarly, deep gravel the size of your fist.
@@mattgies , good point. In more remote areas of the USA rougher gravel roads can be found. The Dirty Kansas makes sense for a gravel ride because Kansas is endowed with lots of nothing and plenty of places to find it. :)
Gravel bikes are for all of us who never saw the need to pick sides. Thanks for this conversation, Jeremy and Ted, and the King bit is funny, make it a series, Riding Dirty with the King.
This was so good on so many levels! As a gravel tutorial, tourism vid for NE riding, and reminder of the health benefits of maple syrup!
Great info. Makes me want to go do it right now.
10/10 Content ! Love the Gravel info video !!!
Love Ted and love Vermont, Braintree Gap next ride!!!
Ted is a legend and one of us. Wish I could have given 10 thumbs up! Here’s nine more 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@Jeremy what a great asset to the GCN crew. Great vid👍🏾
Great stuff from Jeremy and big Ted
Once again...great video Jeremy!!
Thanks Ted and Untapped for supporting Husker cycling. For everyone reading this don't forget to sign up for Gravel Worlds next year
BEST GCN VIDEO EVER!
what an amazing video. I echo many of the other comments - I learned so much here. although 2:30 in the morning and I can't sleep, I want to get on my gravel bike RIGHT NOW!
Thanks Douglas! Hopefully you got some sleep and managed to get out in the end
one of my favourite interviews
Two legends talking about gravel riding what could be better , Ted does a great podcast called King of the ride ,,well worth a listen !
Alan Hill thanks for listening! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/king-of-the-ride/id1390373151
Brilliant stuff!!
Great piece, GCN!
Great advice, and great cause.
The editing in this video is top notch 👌🏽
The rave beats and flames over top of a peaceful, scenic fall ride were (intentionally?) out of place though.
So good, I watched it twice!
Great vid and info!!
Excellent video. Those two are naturals.
Great interview!
Jeremy I've really enjoyed your work on GCN.
That was mint. What a place to ride
Does anyone know the manufacturer or seen a similar style saddle bag to King's? The ability to pull a velcro flap and have immediate organized access to your kit without having to remove the bag from the saddle is awesome.
totally loving the jpow vidoes, not just because I live in MA.
More Ted?, Yes please!
Awesome vid!!
That "crazy guys" should take Jeremy with them. Great mood is guarantee. ))) Nice and informative video. Thx.
As always Jeremy, great work.
Awesome video!
Cool one! Thanks!
Awesome video guys.
JPOW production quality..oh my
The top years for Ted King was on the tour of Cal. & when he and Tim Duggan got on the front man...something else to see, would've been a laugh to hold the wheel LOL tho tim duggan was a total animal on a bike...
Ahh, good memories!
Superb film - got a gravel bike on my santa list
Brilliant video
Power King - great combo
Great vid 👏🏻
Jeremy Powers is a very entertaining presenter. Loved this episode.
What was Ted Kings foldable saddle bag? Looked awesome very organized..
Great video!
Dan's b-roll is the type of humor that I keep coming back for. Can only dream of Matt coming back, he was the king of humor.
