We're so happy to have you here Manon! Imagine my surprise crossing the 70 km finish line and seeing Manon there! I couldn't believe my eyes, "Manon!? Is that you!?" haha. Loved seeing my local grounds, and so happy to have you here. Hopefully see you guys again at next years P2A!! If anyone is not tired of Paris to Ancaster footage I have a bit of gopro from the 70 km race on my page. Lots of love Manon, hope you enjoyed your time here. Come back when it is a bit warmer ;)
Yeah. I was just excited to see Manon in the actual event. I had a friend racing the same event and I was just so stoked to see Manon in the pictures in Strava. Amazing to see GCN show Canada some love!
How amazing is an experienced cyclist humbly learning new gravel riding skills from another experienced cyclist. Such a nice video, thank you for reuploading it in 1080p!
Now there’s a future GCN presenter. What a charming ambassador for Canada and gravel. Well done Manon. Looking forward to seeing your video on the race. And there’s obviously another video needed on who the hell would want to have bought Dan Lloyd’s Cervello test team bike (almost new?)…
So glad Manon and GCN made it here for some gravel riding! (I say "here" because I'm just a stone's throw away in southern Quebec... only 800 km away!) In the West (parts of Alberta and BC) and farther North in Quebec and Ontario, the terrain is much more rugged than in southern Ontario - which would make for a non-zero (albeit still limited) chance of seeing a moose. (Deer, on the other hand, you'll practically encounter just going down the street). Also, April is not a pretty month in much of Canada. Autumn leaves in eastern Canada (from late September to early October) are a sight to behold.
Totally agree. I live in the mountains of Northern BC and I often see moose when I'm out on the forest service roads. I've even seen a grizzly while hiking.
Greater Hamilton (of which Dundas is a part) is exceptional in the density of rail trails and associated cycling for Southern Ontario. What's called "the Mountain" is the Niagara Escarpment, and Hamilton's heavy industrial history (Steel Town) has left many abandoned rail rights of way (and a couple of interurban tram lines too) now cycle trails. The countryside to the north of Hamilton offers some excellent secondary and very lightly used county roads that bring one to the TH&B Trail (shown many times in this vid) and then right to the centre of Hamilton to take regional trains east towards the much more populous Toronto area, thus avoiding heavy and dangerous road traffic.
As a canadian, so happy to see this video! Yes Manon, and/or any of GCN presenter should come back. I suggest you explore some of the Québec province where Si could practice his French. Vous êtes les bienvenus 🙂😍

Glad you made it here to Canada. I have moose in my area but like Maghalie said, they love their privacy. They also don't make great cycle partners. They take up to much room on the road.
The town of Dundas is a nice little town. It’s a go-to destination from my house for coffee and pastries 😁. That short hill you did on Sydenham Rd is a good training ground for locals. Great video GCN!

This is my home ground. It was a treat to see this video and the Paris Ancaster Race. Finishing with Clara Hughes climb/Sydenham Rd is epic. A brilliant video featuring two great cafes in Dundas, ON and local trails. Sorry about the moose, but you'll either have to go further north or perhaps to Rouge Valley (a.k.a. Ontario doesn't hold a candle to the beauty and breadth of road, gravel and mountain biking that the west coast of Canada has to offer. It's almost embarrassing to think that GCN viewers who don't know about the west coast will think this is what Canada looks like!
glad you came in my country! i personally prefer a bike with a front suspension in my canadian region. there is always something to jump above that you did not expect. can be a branch or an horrible pothole. Canadian roads can be very damaged by the weather and poor maintenance.

Canada is about the size of all of Europe. So, yeah, Manon has definitely not even scratched the surface yet of what riding Canada is all about. You could spend years and barely scratch the surface of riding in British Columbia alone.
Right! BC on its own is larger than Germany and France combined. Despite their comparably small size, both countries' various regions are more distinct from one another than Vancouver and Toronto. One of the two has to organise an annual 3-week bike race to proof this to the world.
I speak as a Yankee. Canada is a beautiful nation with good and diverse people, whom I admire. My opinion really has nothing to do with cycling, though.
