    Hi becky we just had a heat wave too here in the uk, our temperatures normally reach like 20c to 25c in the summer but i was hitting 41c for 2 days and uk homes dont have air con at all, we just had 8 fans going ...im now looking at portable air con for our house because normal air con costs far too much money which we dont have .....its like £800 per room

      So, there's something here in the US called a 'mini split'. It's made by Mitsubishi and it runs on 110 power (or your regular power with a converter). A split unit has two for two floors, but they also sell them in singles. They are not cheap, but they are absolutely fabulous to cool 1200 square feet+ in the summer and heat the same in the winter. You will discover as things heat up, everything mildews. Once you have AC in the house, you stop that with drier air. I love that I have AC in my sewing room so my fabric won't mold in this heat. See if there is something like this over there. www.mitsubishicomfort.com/articles/tackle-single-room-challenges-with-a-ductless-mini-split-system?campaign_id=70131000001yHC6AAM&Bing&MSN_B_SWBU_Mitsubishi%20Electric_E&msclkid=b41a23ea024a1d5d2d4a410aa0bdca61&Mini%20Split

    Been working on the Chicken Salad quilt blocks. Just absolutely love the excel spreadsheet. Made this so much easier. Also all the time you spent numbering the borders to put around the chickens.
    Thanks! When piecing the borders I noticed on the Hank border and Hattie border #17 block falls together for Hank and Hattie. Not sure if this was intentional or if someone else let you know. I did put different # on Hattie block. Love following you and have learned so much. Thanks again.

    Hi Becky, Love watching your videos! I was wondering if the Riley Blake Shades you mention for the DBJJ Christmas Tree skirt came in a bundle (e.g., a fat quarter bundle) or if you just bought the fabric by the piece? Thanks.

      The thread is DIME's Exquisite ES409. The font was #11 on my Luminaire so I don't have a name for it. Sorry! But check the fonts from Designs by JuJu. I'm sure she has something similar.

    Hi I discovered you a couple of weeks ago- I’ve learned so much already! Anyway on a video I watched the other day - think it was Thanksgiving table runner - you were doing “ stitch in the ditch” on your PQ 1500 and mentioned using a feature that made it easier - I didn’t catch what is was but think it must have to do with the pin feeding system and the ability to adjust the feeding mechanism- I know the machine ( and it’s many different brand versions) are used by many - would you be able to do a brief review of what you were referring to? I haven’t figured it out - the manual is not really helpful Thank you for all you do- love your new logo!, Best regard Yvette

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The beauty of that machine is that I think the pressure of the presser foot holds the fabric tighter to the base of the machine. That and the single hole needle plate make it so the fabric does not wiggle around. That's why you get such much better piecing and stitch in the ditch.

    Question… I’m thinking of piecing all of the blocks for the top together and having the top quilted with chicken wire then appliquéing the chickens and chicks. Do you think that would work?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At first I thought so, but then I reconsidered because: 1. The chickens will look like they are outside the fence (if that matters to you). It wouldn't matter to me because we'll call them Free Range Chickens. But more importantly, 2. You'll have embroidery bobbin stitching on the back of your quilt. While the front would be adorable, the back will leave a lot to be desired. However, if it will only be a wall hanging, then it may not matter.

      @PowerToolsWithThread  ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with receipt scanners is that you have to input most of the data every time anyway. The software for them just isn't as smart as the one for the phones nowadays.
