On the 75/18 M41 you forgot to mention that it is a great city fighter, as the gun has a wide side angle of fire and you can park half in corners hiding your cheek, offer only you front plate and extreme angle, and still fire strait down the roads. Becomes a beast when only tanks with heat or German long 75's have a chance to pen...

The issue I’ve always found is that whether in the air or in tanks, the lineup BRs don’t match up, either giving you great planes with no tanks to support or good tanks with no air cover. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this dilemma. Going over the Italian air tree would also be pretty neat. Congrats on 10k you deserve it; and have a wonderful day!
R3: when war thunder meets GTA. I don't understand how could a vehicle from the '50s be in tier II. But Gaijin messed up the entire concept of ERA with recent tech tree.

From my experience 90/53 M41M is a fun vehicle. Challenging and limited but rewarding. And also it looks really cool to me. And also, you said that it's hard to one-shot, that's a fact. But you said in cons that it has a low surviveability. For a vehicle of this type it's surviveability is pretty good and it has good firing angles.

Giveaway The R3 T20 taught me that the Driver Assistance mode exists, I had no idea what that option meant until I started using that vehicle. It would be great if you could make a demonstration video on it, I've found that it seriously adds to the armored car experience (as in it stops the Puma from wiggling at speed).
I'm always so entertained by the little captions you put in during the gameplay segments, makes it fun to really keep your eyes on the screen. Also if you're having trouble with plosives even through a pop filter, try keeping the mic to the side or above/below your mouth when speaking. You don't always need to be speaking directly into the microphone to get good sound quality, and I blow enough air on plosives to know that sometimes just backing away from the mic can't fix the issue. Personally, I always have the mic at around chin height, but everyone has a different place that works well for them. Pop filters can't fix everything! Or you can train yourself to soften plosives, but that's... just a pain. Much easier to fix it with mic placement.
Giveaway Had pretty much figured the M41/42 would be kinda pointless, ran into a couple of them in my M4A2 and their first shot always bounced... the only one that managed to survive long enough to shoot a second time with heat actually damaged me a little but died right after... While I am very, very late on this video. If anyone comes in here, I'd recommend actually picking up the M41M, despite as Oxy said here, having somewhat limited potential, I think it teaches you some great habits for the game, learning that vehicle gives you some very good skill sets and knowledge.

Yeah I'm not sure what Gaijin was thinking with the Tier I and II TD battle ratings. As you mentioned, I think they put them at odd battle ratings to help fill the tree out at certain BRs (kinda like the half useless M42 Duster in the SPAA line for Japan/US) but it doesn't really work. Basically all of the Tier I TDs should be at 1.0 performance wise and the Tier II TDs should all go down 0.3 BR.
Hey oxy, is there any way we can get a updated video for the Italian line? Considering the snail has given the line a lot of love and updating. I think it might be right!
To those that have a fair amount of experience of War thunder and are grinding the Italians, go for the m15 ASAP. Sure the AB43 and the R3 T20 look fun and effective but if you'll get better results if you go for the m15.
While grinding with the M15/42 may be faster, using the R3 results in a much less frustrating experience, which also means faster grind since you can grind for longer without losing too much sanity.
P-40 is definitely the best Italian tier 2 by far, I mean it’s does everything all well. Nothing amazing really but the armor, if you angle it, you are good my dude. It’s front has that 75mm plate on the drivers hatch which almost no one knows about use it when you angle it! I have 450 + games in it and it works!!!

I'm somewhat new to the game, so not sure what happens in this situation. Let's say they do uptier the Ferrari spaa, what happens if you have it unlocked already before they move it? I just started Italy yesterday and of course that was the first (and currently only) tier II that I unlocked. Am I going to end up with an unlocked and usable tier III (or wherever it ends up) waiting on me to catch up the rest of my lineup? Or am I going to have to re-unlock and purchase it when I get into whatever tier it ends up in?

Giveaway. I actually do very well with both of the P40s, which I'm suprised with. The gun is quite good at its tier and the SPAA gun is insane. Paired with a JU87, it's a pretty good lineup, especially at 3.7
Nice vid but I would have probably also mentioned the IAR-81C as a good option for rank 2 CAS. It can carry a 250 kg bomb and a pair of rockets. Plus the MG 151s make short work of opposing air.
For Aircraft, what about the premium IAR.81? It has good canons with decent ammo loads, AND has multiple munitions load options for ground attack, including some big rockets. ~JD

I understand that map knowledge is important but I’ve never managed to really get a grasp of positions on maps despite having sunk a pretty decent amount of hours into this game. I am possibly just a bit stupid and bad at learning spacial knowledge.
Cannot agree more with you about the folk who 'J-out' to jump in a plane at game start. Seriously annoys me; they are using up a valuable spot that could be taken by a ground unit. If you want to fly planes join AR games.

R3 T20 FA-HS It's real name is OTO Gorgona R3 and it is an obscure 1980s recon vehicle that doesn't belong in the game. I'm pretty sure Italy never actually used it. Gaijin must have been really digging to find vehicles for the Italians, because it's difficult to find information on this vehicle on the internet. It's really silly seeing it go up against WW2 vehicles. I wonder how they justified that.
The really interesting thing is the fact it's in the AA line when it was designed as a recon. I think they should move it to 5.0+, give it a better round and brand it as a light tank. As an SPAA Italy already has the M42 at 3.x, and if they really need to feel the gaps there are other more appropriate choices.
Watching this 3 years later. It blows my mind that the R3 was once at 3.3.

It’s front has that 75mm plate on the drivers hatch which almost no one knows about use it when you angle it! I have 450 + games in it and it works!!!

Maybe lineups in the range from 5.3-10.0, since I think that is what the squadron battles range is. I think it would help a lot of people! :)

I'm somewhat new to the game, so not sure what happens in this situation. Let's say they do uptier the Ferrari spaa, what happens if you have it unlocked already before they move it? I just started Italy yesterday and of course that was the first (and currently only) tier II that I unlocked. Am I going to end up with an unlocked and usable tier III (or wherever it ends up) waiting on me to catch up the rest of my lineup? Or am I going to have to re-unlock and purchase it when I get into whatever tier it ends up in?

Giveaway-Although, in all sincerity I'm not commenting with a view to gaining those wonderfully thoughtful cards(my Dad would have loved them -ex Fleet Air Arm, worked on Hellcats and Mossies amongst others). I think that you are doing a sterling job Oxy, particularly as you are relatively new to creating content (correct me if I'm wrong). The requisite 'meat and bones' , informative whilst pleasantly entertaining substance is all present and correct my friend. Enunciation is crystal clear and irritatingly accentless (I hail from ze West Country). Pacing, breathing and similar oratory delivery skills will undoubtedly becoming easier with practice ( I doubt Cicero could have racked up a 10k following any quicker ). Giveaway. I actually do very well with both of the P40s, which I'm suprised with. The gun is quite good at its tier and the SPAA gun is insane. Paired with a JU87, it's a pretty good lineup, especially at 3.7
Nice vid but I would have probably also mentioned the IAR-81C as a good option for rank 2 CAS. It can carry a 250 kg bomb and a pair of rockets. Plus the MG 151s make short work of opposing air.
For Aircraft, what about the premium IAR.81? It has good canons with decent ammo loads, AND has multiple munitions load options for ground attack, including some big rockets.

On the subject of map knowledge could you do a couple videos on map guides or maybe some sort of guide on how to learn maps by yourself (if that makes any sense). I understand that map knowledge is important but I’ve never managed to really get a grasp of positions on maps despite having sunk a pretty decent amount of hours into this game. I am possibly just a bit stupid and bad at learning spacial knowledge.
The 90/53 M41 M is basically a SU-5-1 + the Flaktruck...it has a gun of the flak truck,but looks and ammo capacity as the SU...😂

Loved the video and the editing. I just think you should shorten the pauses during the pros and cons segment. the pause is just a little too long and makes it kinda awkward.
also will you do this series for just the Italians or for every nation. it would be great for a beginner to have some quality videos on the first vehicles they're going to play.
R3 T20 FA-HS
It's real name is OTO Gorgona R3 and it is an obscure 1980s recon vehicle that doesn't belong in the game. I'm pretty sure Italy never actually used it. Gaijin must have been really digging to find vehicles for the Italians, because it's difficult to find information on this vehicle on the internet.
It's really silly seeing it go up against WW2 vehicles. I wonder how they justified that.
The really interesting thing is the fact it's in the AA line when it was designed as a recon.
I think they should move it to 5.0+, give it a better round and brand it as a light tank.
As an SPAA Italy already has the M42 at 3.x, and if they really need to feel the gaps there are other more appropriate choices.
