Ok for the M13/40’s your armor is some of the best at 1.0 at range it can easily take so many shells from French and German tanks and some other nations. Also your gun is a god sent, it can one shot many tanks. I literally have one shot T-28’s so many times, that I called myself the T-28 hunter, which has a huge crew

you use the T-28 as an example of easy targets? If anything, the T-28 takes two hits to kill more often than just one. The tanks I most often one shot with the M13 are T-26, T-26-4, BT-5, Tetrarchs and a few other less popular vehicles.

You're missing the gun depression of these tanks. The 20mm auto loaders are excellent and binocular shooting over ridgelines. Both have -12 gun depression and with their gun high on the turret, you are nearly impossible to hit
what? 20 mm autoloaders? those didn't even exist in 1939-1945, and they barely worked in 1945-1950. The "Autoloader" is just a clip/magazine autocannon, know your weaponry chief

Out of all the rank one vehicles that ive used for Italy, the only vehicle ive hated so far is the 47/32 L40. Everything else has done reasonably well for me. The 47/32 really needs a BR drop, preferably to 1.0-1.3, and its historically a 3 crew vehicle, with the commander sitting above the ammo box to the right of the gunner and behind the gunner. This should help the vehicle drastically, as it really needs something to help it out, and with a rate of fire increase and a slight survivability increase it will help it so much
With the br and reloading speed it currently has, the vehicle is pretty much pointless
@@pedror598 Fully agree, ive spaded it, and it was horrible the whole way. Ive got my own personal review coming up on my own channel. And i am pretty harsh on the vehicle. But it really is pointless. Whats the point of having it at 1.7, when there is the M14/41?
@@Joseph-2000 if it retained it's reloading speed, I could see that thing as a 1.0 or even a reserve vehicle.
Every other nations except the French has tier 1 tanks that surpass Italian machines in almost every aspect.
For me personally it's worked pretty good even in an uptier. Low silhouette and decent gun (for the br)

I've had a lot of fun with the 47/32 L40, It has a third crew member now, probably came after this video was released, and I never really had a problem with the depression, since it's kinda low to the ground. Nice video tho, I just finished watching your Britain tech tree series and the tier V of Americans, and really enjoy your content
I have a 61% winrate in 67 Arcade battles and 83% in 12 matches in RB with the 47/32 L/40 and I've actually grown to adore it. The 47mm cannon is so good at the BR and one-taps pretty much anything. Sure, it has poor top-speed but the manueverability is solid and it's so easy to hide.
@@whatdothlife4660 Yeah, I don't play ground AB that much anymore, but in RB this thing is really fun to play. I'm playing it cuz I want to unlock part of the Italian Tech Tree. The worst part is I feel horrible about killing new players cuz I'm pretty sure this is at 1.3 now, and my heart dies a little every time I meet a Pz. III B/E and they do exactly what I did when I first started playing the game.

I don't know if the video is old (why would it it's only 2 years old) or something else, but it was one of my favourite vehicle in this rank.
Yeah he really undersold it. I never liked it very much, but it's pretty decent and isn't the worst. I'm more an AS 42 guy, since I've had matches getting 7+ kills
The reason was the glitch of the gun depression 3 years ago. They fixed its static position after this came out, greatly increasing the tanks abilities

I loved the M13/40s. They might not be fast but the armor bounces a couple of shots and the gun is lovely.
I'm an M13/40 specialist and I'd say it's a little overpowered at BR 1. It's relatively common to get 10 kills in a match with it. Also I still don't understand how the M14/41 is at BR 2, it's basically the same tank but slightly faster.
My favorite(so far) is the M15/42, a great medium tank with decent armor and fast reloading gun, low pen tho......
Just a fun fact: the M11/39 is actually the predecessor of the M13/40, of which the M11 sits in 1.3, while the M13 sits in 1.0. GG Gayjoob WP
Ye but it’s sooo bad
M13/40 (III) is an absolute seal-clubbing vehicle. It has an amazing shot and almost always 1 shots the enemy or leaves it uncapable and you just finish it with a second shot. The armor is amazing for a reserve tank. Easily the best reserver for a novice.
+ can tank a hit and still be usable
It is also moderately fast

The Update "Danger Zone" was released on June 15, 2022.
This update is definitely a huge negative change for the Italian tanks. Very sad.
Gaijin have moved the three M13/40 BR 1.0 tanks to much higher ratings. The M13/40 I is now at 1.7 and the M13/40 II and III are now at 2.0!!!!!!!!
The Italian reserve and other Italian 1.0 tanks are very weak compared to their competition.
I have played the Italian ground forces tech tree for a long, long time now and there is absolutely no way that these tanks are in any way that superior to the US, German, or Russian reserve or BR 1.0 tanks.
Gaijin previously up-tiered the M14/41 and M15/42 to levels where they are no longer competitive.
I wonder if Gaijin is trying to shut down the Italian tech tree?
At this point in time, I would absolutely NOT recommend the Italian tech tree for new or changing players.

Just started the Italian tech tree a few days ago. Just got a 10 kill game with the reserve Italian armored car in a 2.0 game, with 5 assists. Italy is very fun and derpy to play
Howdy! I just started getting into WT, and since a bunch of my friends were years ahead of me but still wanted to play together, we all just started grinding the swedish line so they could continue playing and I would still be able to play with them. I've watched a few of your videos and saw these tier rating videos so I figured I'd give them a look for when I start working down other trees. Anyways, I was going to say you should totally do a swedish tree! Content is awesome and thanks for the hard work!
I didn't mind the M11/39... in fact I preferred that over the AS42 as my Tier 1 SPAA with those twin 8mm in the turret. And it has more ammo than the AS42. Mobility was fine and I did decently when working the flanks. I kept getting straffed and killed very easily in the AS42 while the M11/39 has armored protection and a 3rd crew member. Try playing this as your AA choice with the twin MGs. By the way, I also used my AB41 has a AA vehicle as well. I used the turret mounted MG as tracer rounds in setting up the 20mm to take out aircraft.
Something I discovered with the L3/33 CC is that if you end up having to brawl with another tank in CQB, drive right up to it, in fact ram into it. Most of the time your opponent will not have the gun depression to hit you at very close range and you can blaze away until you hit something vital. Most tanks won't be able to disengage as the little tank is pretty nippy.
I did something like that with the M11/39 once to an LVTA once, it took many shots to kill him tho 😂
Why am I watching this... The Italian T1 grind was soul destroying. Everything at stock was easier to just wait in the spawn to get bombed to death, waste of time SLOWLY driving towards an insta-one-shot death. Go make some tea... or something.
Also someone explain the point of grinding the crew replacement for RB with a tank with a 2 man crew ?!?!?!
You can use the crew replenishment in Arcade even in a 2 crew vehicle.
@Aspanda IV japan now has a heat round for the i-go and first chi-ha, and the ha-go is good, so its not that bad.
in my opinion france is the worst as its starting gun cant do anything, even a single american 50 cal can do better (and a ww1 renault ft17 could perfectly do the same as the current reserves)
Actually I really enjoyed rank I Italian tank ! in that rank nearly all tanks are weakly armored , so I tried to never be shot , But they have good guns which have HE filler
Late reply but for the bonus RP from fulling grinding that line/whole vehicle, just don't buy it.
The only thing that sucked for me was the grinding from the reserve tanks as they were so slow. I play at BR 1.3 for fun with a full set of 20mm machine guns. I also got lucky and got a talisman for my L6/40 and my favourite AS42. 20mm shreds at BR 1.3.

Over a month since italians were added and you still have to buy a shitty pack to use untested and (in some cases) unbalanced or down right broken tanks.
Im calling it that over a year will pass before FTP is allowed to research italian tanks to force us to buy the special packs-

The M13/40 II isn’t worth the GE, but it’s nice to get it as a present from War Thunder over the holidays.
Tip- don't spam the ab 41 use it like a tank cannon shot one round per tank and practise how to one shot tanks this is my tip and how I get 6-10 kills per game

Precisely. The M13 has an advantage in almost every department over the M11. And even if its 1.0 BR no one would have this over the M13. I'd even argue its worse performance-wise than the 47/32 M40
I wish this tech tree wasn’t over tiered
I like to get all the camo unlocks I can, so I've played a lot of these vehicles lately. TDs are trash, both marked TDs and M11, which I count as TD with it's haul mounted gun. They pen nothing, they damage nothing when they actually pen, the suspension is stupid bouncy.
The rest is actually pretty good: decent mobility, relatively good guns/ammo, pretty good elevation angles too.
Overall, with TDs I struggled to get a single kill in a game, while with other vehicles getting 5+ wasn't anything special.

Well, france is not completely screwed - they have a nudge better gun on their 1.3 BR "tanks" that can work, unlike the starting fartgun on that conehead tank and the like. And from there on you can get out to decent tanks. But i agree, they are not very enjoyable on tier 1, and they SUFFER from having such low-tier BR compression. Inter-war tanks, with really out of place guns tier for tier... That said i do want to focus on france a bit more, they have really nice light tank line (Which should also be a thing in German and British tech trees... Just saying). As soon as i get past the dreadful tier 1

Just for as a second opinion, the M14/41 is very solid for what it is. As long as you keep your back and sides protected it can be a serious threat with how well its armor performs.
The crew is fairly spread out for the BR as well.

M11/39 Player here, i agree with you in the part that its cannon is bad but just like with the french cannons at tier 1, with enough skill you can use and its armor is quite reliable at times as i have been on open fields on arcade and receiving shot after shot of enemy tanks(medium-low range) and managed to survive due to how the armor managed to absorb the shots so i would say that if you know how to use a low pen cannon go for it if not then dont, as you will indeed have alot of suffering

The Breda 20mm on the early tanks have been stomped though.
Main belt only has 38mm pen which is a bit of a wet sneeze.

47/32 L40 is maybe one of the best tier I anti-tank. In my collection it goes on with almost 400 kills.
Love the format. Concentrating on a single vehicle is fine, but there’s a lot of that sort of thing about. This tier/nation review is really helpful and I haven’t come across it before.

Can you make a video with the french tier 4 lineup? Explaining strategies you use and advises for theses autoloaders would be helpful
in the current update, warthunder put L6/40 to reverse tank. So if you used time and pain to research the tank, it was useless
I've had some of my funnest games in low tier Italy, even when using the 11/39.

I like to play the L3/33 and go point blank to a LVTA1 and go under it and spam shots and kill it

47/32 L40 has the highest win percentage at 70% of any of my vehicles in ground forces and an ok kill to death ratio. I didn't play it until I was a more experienced player though but I think I had fun with it. Enough to use it 18 times anyway.
Perhaps people were too busy laughing and giving me the sympathy vote before I killed them.

Ok,so i had my PC restarted,so my settings on WT are default...and if anyone could help,i had my zoom before (in sniper view or outside the tank) on once clicking my RMB,but now,that it is default,i have to hold it...how do i rebind it ?

The L6 and the AB41 share the same turret. The AB 41 was a recce/low intensity fighting vehicle. Pretty good but far from the best. The L6/40 was the italian equivalent of the german pz2. Personally I prefer the L6 over the pz2. It has a more charming appaerance.
Oxy about AS 42: "you don't really want to be seen" Me in AS 42: _rushes at 3 enemy tanks at maximum speed head on_
Apparently, I get 6 kills sometimes with this strategy.
Finally someone does these guides! Great idea and very well presented (although I'll spade all of the Italian tanks as this will make me qill myself easier). Anyway great job and you have my sub sir.
AS42 has the bravest gunner of WW2. Also note the awful Italian suspension that makes your gun wobble up and down for good 2-3 seconds before you can take an accurate shot which affects so many of the tier I-II vehicles.
Dont hit the brakes, stop accelerating and let them come to a stop naturally and they will not wiggle

@@diegokevin3824 That's a braindead tip, no offense. Deceleratting surely does take care of the problem... somewhat. But by the time you do it, you are absolutely dead; your front angled armor becomes frontal armor and the gunner has to readjust the cannon due to the change in stability. Their 'wobblematic' suspension has made me think that, maybe, just maybe, their tanks don't want to be treated as tanks, but as a continuous suppressing force.
Td;lr: "bad" tip, it's something that has to be fixed; and actually keep moving because the suspension is bad enough to be quite accurate when moving, the opposite being the expected on normal tanks.
@@holomatic1549 That's an actual thing in the M13. I normally keep driving with the first gear, and the gun has no problem remaining stable.
Bro the m11 is a nice AA platform, I survived 10 shots from a m5a1, ya a light tank but ten shots is a lot, and considering the speed of the tank, you can cap really fast early game if you know what you are doing.
OXY, regarding the 47/32 L40. At moment the gun depression is bugged, it's supposed to be -12degrees, but Gaijin, as usual, has modeled it incorrectly, and it's default angle right now is +10degrees upwards, hence the anemic -2degree depression. You can see this when the gun is at maximum elevation, it starts clipping into the gun mantlet, that it's actually elevating more than supposed.
... Which solves nothing because the round can barely pen paper.
IMO, anything with less than 6Omm pen isn't worth considering, unless it's an SPAA, but only because it's not supposed to have that kind of capabilities.
And, dear god, thanks Italians can also verse Italians, because otherwise, the whole ITA T1 would be impossible to grind... talking of which FRA & JPN suffer.
@@holomatic1549 Agreed. It has the same gun as the Italian reserve M13/40, which can deal with pretty much everything at rank1. Of course, the 47/32 is clearly overtiered at 1.7, cause it doesnt offer anything what the reserves already cant do. The slight increase in speed has very limited use. At same BR you also got the M14, which has 45-70mm turret armour, and -15degrees of depression, making it a hull down beast. There is simply no reason to play the 47/32 at 1.7. Not to mention the M14 has the upgraded 47mm gun with half the reload speed, compared to 47/32.
The L3 IS SO MUCH FUN I LOVE THAT THING FUN WAS THE FIRST THING That came to mind when you show it.
